I would love to have this in my garden, but I don't think they are sold here in New Zealand .... I will have to check that out on the internet. We do have the normal peonies, & I planted one in 2011, & was so happy to see that it had its very first bud, & telling myself to be careful as I weeded around it. Well, we have a persistent weed that has a leaf shape very similar to the peony, & as I was still thinking happy thoughts about my very first peony being in bud, I pulled it out ....... yes, I did!!! And not only did I pull it out, but it snapped off at the base as I did so ...... I actually sat holding it, & crying. Since then, I haven't planted another one, but I think I will do so. You have inspired me ..... & hopefully I won't pull this one out.

I love Peony Trees and have a gorgeous yellow one in my garden. It was actually the colour I bought it for as I have quite a few different peony bushes in various shades of pink and had wanted a yellow one. The only one I could find was the peony tree. Flowers are huge and the first to bloom in spring.
I'm curious about the ants as well. I recently read that if you want to bring the blooms indoors for display you should cut the stems when the buds are beginning to show color and are soft as marshmallows. You can then shake off any ants, place the stems in water and you should have blooms in a day or two. I haven't tried it yet and would appreciate your opinion.
Tree peonies don’t have ants. Regular peonies are easy to clean of ants. Dip each one, flower head down, in a pail of slightly soapy water and shake of water. Check under the leaves at the base of the flower in case any ants are hiding there.

Cute_but_dumb its been a while since you commented this but incase you didnt find out, pinching back is when you cut back a stem of a plant to a leaf node, where the leaf grows out from the stem, the point of this is to make plants busier, because the stem continues to grow from the little bud in between the leaf and the stem

Just one piece of advice, at about 4:15 in you talk about shoots coming from the ground and to remove them. Tree peonies are not truly trees, they’re a perennial shrub, and can have tree peony shoots come from the ground as well. Especially in colder zones the main stem can die back completely and they’ll need to rely on new growth from the ground....suggest that anyone with a tree peony allow those ground shoots to open enough to tell if the foliage is from the tree Peony or the herbaceous nurse root before removing anything.

What will create stronger stems so that cutting for inside becomes the only option? I'd prefer having them outside longer but rainy Spring in PA 2018 made that impossible. Help! Hi there. I have a question regarding my tree peony. They are grown in a large pot, and they are about 14 years old. And every spring they flower abundantly, but the stems are getting so long and leggy. Do I need to cut them back? If so, when is a good time to do it? Right after flowering? Or in dormant period? This might be the answer to my prayers! I've always had peonies (my favorite flower!), but when we moved to our current home, I can't get them to grow. :( Our soil here is very sandy, so I'm not sure if that's the problem or not.
What was the name of that specific one ?. It’s so beautiful I live in Hawaii so we can’t get them like that so I order them bare root and pot them then put them in the ground
I have a question but first, I can't believe how amazing your channel and all your advice has been for me! 6 months ago I couldn't even keep herbs alive and now I have a mini garden in my flat (no outdoor garden, sadly). I started with succulents and have been slowly adding to it, including herbs that are still alive! Going to start experimenting with veggies soon, possibly investing in a hydroponics system b/c yours looked great! A lot of my plants are on window sills which has forced me to actually open my curtains to be able to see my plants, as someone who has mental health issues this has been difficult but great for me. Ok, question time :) Are there any outdoor plants that are good in a pot and full shade? I have a small space outside my door beside the courtyard but it doesn't get any sun. It is quite sheltered though, it will get rain but not much wind. Oh, and it's Scotland so very cold in winter, about 15-20 degrees celsius in summer.
Oh I love that!!!! I want to get one probably in a year or so. I have such a black thumb. maybe someone here can help. I got a Parade Roses bouquet for mothers day and am terrified I'm going to kill it. I can't plant it in the ground as we are in the processes of looking for a house to buy. I'm in western oregon (an hour south of Eugene) it says full sun on the tag but what is the difference between full and direct?

How beautiful.....would love to find them here in Australia ❤️❤️
Where can I buy a potted tree peony with a bloom like the one you are showing in the video? Do they mail the plant?
Rachael Emma you could do a hosta or astible or annuals like coleus, lobelia, or begonias or a shrub like a hydrangea
Thank you! Desperate to get a little colour out the front, so fed up of concrete.
I want one, I'm in zone 10 I would love a tree Peony for my front yard.
How beautiful!!!
