Zombie lending refers to the practice of lending to unproductive firms to repay existing loans, causing banks to engage in risky behavior. It is evergreening loan
In India, this has led to an increase in non-performing assets (NPAs), affecting the banking sector's health and hindering economic growth
Zombie lending : - It is a form of Evergreening loans.
Zombie lending is a term in which :-
1.Bank provide loans to borrowers to pay up an old loan.
2.That is on the verge of default.
3.By granting further loans to the same borrower.
4.In order to save them from becoming large non performing assets (NPAs).
......So, It Concerns the potential negative impact on the banking sector & the economy.
