People who normally goes abroad stop underestimating our country, we have been surviving peacefully here,it’s only poor leaders who are letting us down, the west is not everything.
This interview makes the word ‘gossip’ in Gossip Live inappropriate. So informative. So down to earth. I think Keko’s interview was an eye opener and it changed the narrative about what life is really like in the Diaspora. You’re doing a great job, Farooq.
The best real-life insights before going abroad. It's important for such information to be available as part of "Orientation " as part of training or class for the new excited immigrants, to avoid regrets after leaving our homelands. The reality of suffering abroad is very real. Having a support system is taken for granted at home, loneliness abroad with all the responsibilities is the first illness, then finance management teaches us accountability, which is a new vocabulary for us. Friends replace relatives and trust, and faith takes on a paramount definition. Going abroad either breaks you or builds you!!! Thank you for this crucial information for our people. I have been in US for a long time. God bless.
America works for disciplined people. Instead of being afraid of the system, especially the credit, you can learn how it works and use it to your advantage. Using credit wisely is the only gateway to wealth for people who come from nothing. So rather than being afraid, be smart! I have a family member who bought a house in the US on a mortgage, she was diligent in paying the mortgage and she sold the house when it gained tens of thousands of value. Now, she has cash to build a business.
Wamma you are absolutely right. There are no short cuts in America. It teaches hard work, financial discipline and being focused. Many people have made it in America and have no regrets. If things were bad, why would people be scrambling for the US visa. Wamma Ugandans don’t give up; keep trying.
Farouq Farouq, thanks for hosting that gentleman it's the best interview ever. I spent more than 20yrs in London , every single word he mentioned is true.

Thank you Farouq for hosting this brother, that’s the same story here in the UK. We need to understand that it’s about trying so hard and save money then consider investing in Uganda. I have to return as soon as possible to my lovely Uganda and enjoy the free life

Well said @Farouk, as a Ug nurse what he’s saying is 100% correct. Go to school, work hard and get that credit score up. Discipline+ hardworking+ great mentors= success in America.

Farouq, please give young educated people more time on your show. This young man is educated and he can teach people alot, please give him more air time. Reduce on airing uneducated people on the show.
This message resonates with me on many levels. In the UK my salary every month am unable to save anything anymore, mortgage on new variable rate at 5.75 interest rate I pay 1328 pounds every month, bills , Gas and electric 70 pounds in winter, water 40 , council tax bill 150, WiFi 40 pounds for decent cover, phone 35 pounds, car petrol 200 a month which equates to 50 a week. you have nothing left after your salary drops. My cousin Ben in Uganda is doing 20 times better than us here in Europe. I just cancelled a scheduled trip to Kampala after word spread that I was on my way for the very reason that I can't afford to meet relatives financial needs, I can't afford it so instead of financially straining myself and embarrassing myself and family, I decided to cancel my ticket😅😅😂 otherwise Ugandans are so shallow they call you a failure when you return from diaspora and don't flash cash around.
If what you have written is true ,then your not a failure. People that would be considered failures are people in UK for 10+ years without legal papers(mostly those that came between 2000-2008 during the boom),without a mortgage or even a council house, without obtaining any qualification in all those and worse still…without even a ka plot bought 15 years ago that has appreciated in value, such a person would be aged 38+ and opportunity vanished…so your story is a success
@@settendausama people don't get it, in Uganda someone doing a juice business is far more developed than someone like me working for wages every month only to pay back into the system. Ugandans own there own properties, here in the UK you pay your property for 35 years if you can or rent for the rest of your life. If you rent your property, the money you get , you pay off the mortgage and then government puts a tax on it because it will be considered a second income 😂😂😂 the tax here is crazy, people in food business in Uganda are making millions , at least 20,000 pounds a month. Here it's impossible
Thanks for sharing your insights. I agree with the majority of the things you mentioned with the exception of not retiring. If you work hard and set yourself up for success initially, nothing will stop you from living the life you envision. Life is what you make it.
Naye Jordan people don’t have to buy everything on credit. Abantu bakola and buy things that they need. It’s all about discipline. Off course when one screws up their credit, awo nga obulamu bukalubye. People are living normal lives here. Tebalina buzibu. Working is ok.
