I’m hoping that too. It was considered part of the MCU when it first came out and at least up until Infinity War kept in sync with the movies. More so than the other Marvel TV and Netflix shows, I think. Unfortunately politics behind the scenes eventually cut Marvel TV out of the MCU and Disney+ took over the TV side of things. They’re far more integrated into the movie continuity which is a plus. I guess the other shows are still considered part of the multiverse if not part of the main MCU.
Fun fact: Robert Downey Junior once ate a cheeseburger from Burger King that was so disgusting that it actually made him rethink his whole life and got him off drugs. Him eating Burger King in this movie was his way of giving them a shoutout.
Originally Tony Stark was based somewhat on Howard Hughes. But that's kind of dated now. Now his father is more the Howard Hughes image, without the going nuts.
I was going to go into it, but Google covered it well. "Larry Lieber developed Iron Man's origin and wrote the first Iron Man story, while Jack Kirby and Don Heck were responsible for the initial design. Lee modeled Iron Man after businessman Howard Hughes, invoking his physical appearance, his image as a businessman, and his reputation as an arrogant playboy." Checkout "Th Aviator" (2004.) The similarities are impressive. Hughes almost crashed a plane into L.A.. Nice nod by the MCU letting Tony take a detour on the 110 during his test flight.
You asked if Tony is supposed to be Hugh Hefner, but I think you're thinking of Howard Hughes. If so, yes, but actually it's more like Tony's father is Howard Hughes, and Tony is following in his path as a bit of privileged genius brat.
I'm all in to follow you around the MCU. I've seen most of em, and seen muliple reacts, but the react fromat is a fun way to see te movie's highlights while seeing someone discover it in their own way, with their own perspectives. DC movies suffered when they started trying too hard to mimic the MCU pattern. The batmen did well, wonder woman 1... shazam 1.... outside of that.. DC is kinda hard to get through in the last decade or so. Oh, and as of now, the Avenger's warcray needs to be "Avengers: GET SOME!"
Yinsen wasn't afraid of shooting the men. He was a doctor and had taken an oath to never harm anyone. Even though he can accept that they may need to be taken down and even killed, and sets up Tony to be able to do so, he will still stick to that oath and not take a life himself.
Just so you know, there's about as many Marvel movies outside the MCU as in it. Generally, the main story of the MCU runs from "Iron Man" to "Avengers: Endgame." There are movies and Disney+ serials after that which you might want to follow, but it gets beyond the main arc, so they're more like standalones. As for Marvel outside of the MCU, there's several disconnected groups of movies. There's the Blade trilogy, starting in 1998. Then the X-Men series begins in 2000, including Wolverine and Deadpool movies (release order). There's the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man trilogy, the Andrew Garfield Spider-Man and sequel, two Ghost Rider movies, the Punisher, two Fantastic Four films, plus Daredevil and Elektra. (There are a few more movies you should skip because they're bad. I'm not even going to mention them.) Then there's also the Disney+ Daredevil and Jessica Jones serials originally done by Netflix, which reside in the MCU world but the stories are standalone.
There actually was a one season. Marvel show not part of the MCU. Helstrom. It was Damien Helstrom "The Son of Satan". It was very dark and got no marketing.
@@noahrobin1941 Yeah, I was really focusing on the movies, not so much on the serial content. I never did watch Legion. Did you like it? My guess would be that it was about as good as the Iron Fist season produced by Netflix, or an unremarkable CW show.
