    Holy crap! Out of at least 5 videos I watched, yours actually explained the effects of adding a load.
    I have a last question remaining: Why not use just one resistor in parallel to the load? It would serve as a voltage divider too, but I am not sure about the consequences.

      Hey, thanks for the feedback! As to your question - if your load is known and stable, you could totally do that. However, it is a bit more of a challenge because usually you don't know what your load's equivalent resistance is to choose an appropriate coinciding resistor. Or, if you're trying to use it with a something non-linear, such as an ADC reference, your load equivalent resistance will vary when it's taking measurements and not taking measurements. So, you're absolutely right, you can do that! It's just got a couple more challenges to figure out.

    Thanks for explaining. I failed to use a voltage divider to power my trimmer. I realized that the load resistance was changing the voltage, but I thought I was doing something wrong. The way everybody explains a voltage divider is like it's a module that isn't affected by anything else. Nobody talks about how load resistance screws things up.
    I am a mathematician who loves electronics, I have recently been able to afford to buy some electronics and experiment at home and I realized how complicated things can be. I aced my physics exams but, I guess, I didn't really understand as much as I thought I did. Thanks for the video.

    Is good for input to gate of BJT or FET or SCR/thyristor, DIAC?

      Yeah, I've seen voltage dividers used for inputs to FETs and BJTs quite often. I don't recall for SCR and DIACs but I don't see why not in that case either.
