- My thoughts on this 20+-year-old Wii game might shock you! In 2010, EA released The Sims 3 for Wii. While this console version of The Sims 3 lacks many key features, such as the Create-a-Style tool featured in the PC version, I still decided to go ahead and play the game to give it an honest review.
Today's game was played on the Wii but through the open-source Wii and Nintendo GameCube Emulator, known as Dolphin. Check out the link attached below if you want to learn how to play Wii games on your PC.

This game was huge in my childhood! I wasn't allowed the sims 3 on pc bc it was pg 12 but the sims 3 on the wii snd nintendo were fine 😂 As soon as I turned 12 tho I was gifted the sims 3 and some expansions.
I played this game as a kid and I really loved it! The fact that you could control the sims made it so much more realistic! I wish they kept this feature in the console versions, it was so unique, but I think the last Sims console games were for Xbox360 and PS3 or 4 and they didn't have this mechanic. I hope they'll make more Sims games for console in the future!
Also, when I played this for the first time I was shocked because suddenly everyone the town just...died. There were tombstones everywhere and all the sims you knew would die because you only had a certain amount of time to fulfill your sims' dream (as I later found out). It was actually really sinister lol.
I know this video is old but please I need a video showing a bit all the houses you can buy at the begginning on the map and the premade ones in build mode I really want to do a remake of them on The Sims 4 for nostalgia but i can't find any pictures or videos except for the one you bought in this video I loved this game as a kid and now I need to see the lighthouse and the floating house inside furnished😭
This was actually my second sims game. My first was castaway on DS. I didn’t have a PC, so this game was special to me.
In my opinion I really loved the sims 3 on the wii I remember playing it as a kid and I loved it, I was just bad at managing my money lol. So I don't see the wii version being horrible I would say it's way better then the 3ds version

I bought my Wii with my 16th Birthday money (I think) and the Sims was what I was most excited to play - but it was so buggy and broken that I hated it. After a week of still playing it I realised the only reason I still was, was because it was so broken it was funny. Other sims would literally die en-mass in the streets like the water supply had been poisoned. You'd wander off your home lot (enduring a 10 second lag each time you crossed the perimeter) and the entire time you'd wander around you'd hear the grim reaper music somewhere in the distance - OVER AND OVER!

I was actually looking for this game yesterday after I found out it exists lol, it's not that bad but the fact that the world feels kinda empty makes me not want to try it anymore. They should have added this direct-control scheme in the next-gen versions too (like the PS3 version) because it fits the combination of certain people playing on controllers. The eyeliner thing is probably some kind of texture mistake that happened after converting it to wii, or maybe they made it super dark so you can see the eyeliner from a distance, no idea what happened there but it indeed wasn't a style back then, at least in italy, unless you were dressing up for cosplay and stuff. Anyway, keep up with the good work!

Hi! For my mic settings, I keep the gain as low as possible, set the volume in the middle, and use the cardioid mode. I also have a cover over the mic to act as a filter. Additionally, I do a bit of vocal cleanup in post-production and maintain the volume at -6 dB.

Will you please please please do one on Armed and Delirious?! Can you show how to play it on the PC? I can't figure out the emulator. Loved this video! I wondered about the SIMS 3 on the Wii as I have only heard terrible things. We have SIMS 4 and it is SO over stimulating I was obsessed with MYSIMS. I go down the allies of Mario, Animal Crossing, was obsessed with the Chao from Sonic Indie games, etc. 😆 so idk why I loved this old PC game so dang much! It was so magical and I think I wish the idea on games were more like this game. My favorite games on PS2 were probably ATV and definitely King heart series, but not the SIMS only SIMS on PC bc I hated SIMS castaway but at the time Survivor had been extraordinarily popular, so I think that that was their drive for the game to be honest.

The Sims 3 Wii is considered one of the worst games. I haven't played it, but I've read the game had issues compared to the other versions like not being able to modify houses. There are some reports of Wiis overheating, but I haven't seen any proof. There's also the DS and 3DS versions of The Sims 3.
Like The Sims 2 Console, The Sims 3 Console (PS3/Xbox 360) has gotten some mixed user reception. It did bring in the Windows gameplay and fixed some problems The Sims 2 had (the lack of children being a criticism), but it done some changes from the Windows/macOS version such as the Fire Meter (basically object limiter), zones, 6 Sim/Pet limit (PC/Mac allowed 8 Sims or 6 Pets though no more than 10 Sims/Pets), inability to change household, and Sims being left behind getting deleted. The Fire meter, removal of open world, and the 6 Household limit can be understandable due to the PS3/Xbox 360's hardware not being up to par with the Windows Vista/7 PCs, but the inability to change household (even The Sims 2 Pets had that) or Sims/Pets being deleted isn't understandable. The feature causes issues with legacies where if you leave the parents behind but keep the kids, the parents will be deleted. Not helping is that the original release had a bug that would freeze on saving the game if it was played too long which was bad since there's an achievement that required earning 250,000 Lifetime Happiness.
However, due to the decisive reception of The Sims 4, especially _FreePlay_ and _Mobile_, and the bugs on PC/Mac, The Sims 3 Console seems ro be an OK game. I do say The Sims 4 console does it better although the controls are an issue (mostly because console reused the point and click interface from PC/Mac which *isn't* suited for controllers) and the long loading times on PS4 and Xbox One making them longer than even The Sims 3 on PC/Mac (it does run better on PS5 and Xbox Series).
Interesting fact is this is the last Sims game on a Nintendo console although The Sims 3 Pets on 3DS is the last. There wouldn't be Sims games or even MySims released on the Wii U or Switch. Even The Sims 4 skipped the Switch though being based on PC/Mac which barely runs on PS4 and Xbox One, that might make sense why it's not on the Switch. The Sims 3 is also one of the few EA Xbox 360 games that weren't made compatible with Xbox One.
13:15 I think you need higher relationship to flirt with Sims. Otherwise, the Sim will reject it regardless of their traits.
I noticed the black squares where the Sim icons should be. I don't know if it's a Dolphin glitch because I don't believe it happens on a real Wii or Wii U running the game. It's similar to how The Sims 2 PSP on the PPSSPP emulator shows this where the player Sim's icon doesn't show.

the wii breaking happened to me yes so that is true. It also made cracking noises as I booted it up which did not sound healthy at all :(

You can use other Nintendo controllers but you'll need adapters
