New Sub...Excellent video. I just got my 2022 Outback 5 days ago. I traded in my 2022 PA12 360° (purchased in April 2022) just because of the weight. When you have to think twice about going out because of the lifting and all, it is time to make a change. I'm definitely liking the Outback but got to get used to the turning radius. The difference in weight is definitely noticeable. Great review. On Point!
I use five layers of gorilla tape in the front in the rear. Makes it easy to replace once it gets all used up. Protects the boat quite well from the front and the back
Brilliant review mate just got into kayak fishing with my new PA14 loving it quite a big boat bit hard to unload and load but worth the effort I reckon
since the pa is bigger and heavier is it also slower or is it the same as the outback? are the fins and drive systems the same? are the fins bigger for the PA 14?
I would give the edge on speed to the outback but it's really close honestly. The drive system is different in the PA it has a 360 drive, the fins are the same
great I have the 2020 Outback but if I had a truck or trailer I would be interested in the PA for stability and room, I'm only 5'8" 220lb, but I can see why someone bigger would want the PA. Also I am car topping and the outback is perfect for that I'm sure the PA would be pushing it for car topping for most people.
Hey man really enjoyed the video. I've been debating between the two for some time now. I'm also a big guy 6 foot 2 and 230 lbs. Do you think the outback is doable or is the extra space worth the added cost.
Man if you have the money I would highly suggest the PA, the space and comfort are unmatched. Now that I have the PA I wouldn't ever use anything else, and thanks for the kind words I appreciate it
@@greg6162 either would be fine, they both have plenty of space, I would say the outback has the edge on speed, but the PA will haul butt also. A majority of the speed is dictated by the user. I would highly suggest the PA360 if it's within your budget.
@@bassbarge imma gonna try and hunt those down. I need a horizontal rod solution. What would you recommend for a track mounted rod (mainly spinning reels) holder that isn't too big for ultralight setups?
Always good to see you out on the water, I always come away with something new.Or a reminder
Merry Christmas to you and your family

Great comparison video! I've been looking more at the Outback and thinking that it's my next yak!
Awesome im really glad the video was helpful
Thank you for taking the time to make this video. Very informative, great job!!!
Thank you for watching
Very good video tour. Hobie, we need a 10’ Outback, and a 10’ Pro Angler for next year at the latest. Let’s move on that.
Thanks for the compliment
Agree

Awesome dude I'm really glad it was helpful, if you have any questions just let me know
Great video you just Motivate me

It's definitely a big boat. I really appreciate the kind words
Have you got a trailer? How are you transporting the PA?
Just got a trailer know after taking it out couple times without a trailer I decided a trailer is a must for a PA14 certainly makes life easier
Sold both my Old Town AP120 and picked up a new 2022 Outback. No regrets whatsoever. The Old Town are like tanks and way too heavy.
Gobies are solid but kayak mfg have got out of control with their pricing for sure
Ya it's expensive to get something nice these days, thanks for watching
I wish they would make an Outback slightly wider for better standing stability
Maybe they will, great idea
What are your thoughts on the Hobie Lynx? Have you had any on water time with a Lynx?
I have no experience with the lynx. I hear only good things though, I know several people who have them and they love them

Nice video, but there's like no comparison between the two.
What horizontal rod holder are you using on the outback?
The hobie H-crate
@@bassbarge the rod holders that are on the side of the yak?
@@traviswhitworth6506 oh, those are also hobie brand. They clip on to the h-rail, I'm not sure what the exact name of them are

It's really easy to do, it's pvc, I cut it and heat it up until my form is right
