Hey buddy merry Christmas to you and you family always love your channel thanks for all the effort you put in 🎅🎅🙏🙏👍👍❤️❤️
Hey Pat. Thanks for the kind words my friend. Merry Christmas and a happy and healthy new year to you and your family 🌲🎅🌲🎅🌲🎅🌲🎅❤❤❤❤
Nice little Christmas layout on the track 🎄 Merry Christmas to you and yours Rob 🎉🎊
Thank you buddy, Merry Christmas to you and your family my friend 🎄🎅🎄🎅🎄
Merry Christmas to you Rob and your family 🧑🎄🎅🎄🚙 We have the same issue on an Aussie boxed set car from a year ago mate. 30 years with Scalextric and this could be the last nail in the coffin for us sad days indeed😱💩
Merry Christmas to you both and your family. I feel your pain over the car and agree it may be the last scaley I buy 😪😪
So it look's good from a far...But it's Far from Good. Another great honest review mate, Happy Christmas and keep them coming.
Thanks buddy, I should have bought from Boycies 😂😂😂 Merry Christmas mate 🌲🎅🌲🎅
Great information on this issue Rob!
Thanks buddy. Unfortunately not Scalextric finest hour on a car that they've released many times it should have been easy to get it right instead of so wrong 😞😞
@robertsale6528 very true. Its sad to see, as a scalextric fan myself.
That’s very strange, personally I’ve never come across a Scalextric car that’s glued together.
I see they are replacing it , be interesting to hear what their thoughts are.
Merry Christmas to you and your family Rob 🎄☃️
Thanks Dave, hopefully the replacement car will be a great improvement 🤞 Happy Christmas to you and your family buddy 🎅🎄🎅🎄🎅🎄
That's a crying shame 😔 I have not come across this sort of thing and I hope I don't! Doesn't matter what age you are it's still a disappointment. God bless you and yours, stay warm and safe 🙏
@kylespeed1 Thank you buddy, this is my first bad experience with Scalextric and hopefully my last. They have said that they are going to replace the car after Christmas because of the chassis problems. Unfortunately this will not rectify the quality issues but it's a gt40 to look nice on the shelf 👍👍 Wishing you and your family a wonderful Christmas and prosperous new year my friend 🎄🎄🎄
Lass dich nicht ärgern Rob, eine Schande für Scalextric . Ich wünsche dir und deiner Familie schöne und ruhige Feiertage . Grüße aus Deutschland, Hubert
Thank you Hubert, thank you for your comment and support this year my friend. Wishing you and your family a wonderful Christmas time and prosperous new year 🎄🎄🎄🎄
love them GT40's !!!! Gulf is my favorite livery! Merry Christmas Rob, to you and your family! 👍👍🎅🏻
Merry Christmas to you and yours Rich, 🎄🎄🎄🎅🎅🎅 Unfortunately the gold car is no where near as good a model as the gulf car 😪
I heared it from Fox and Wols, they also have a body glued to the chassis on a Scalextric car. I thought this was a mistake from the factory, but now.....
What should this be good for????
Merry Christmas to you and your family Rob!!!!!!!!!!
Not sure what's gone on with this car buddy, they certainly haven't got this one right😞 Happy Christmas buddy and a great new year to you and your family 🎄🎄🎄🎄
Will be interesting to hear what Scalextric say. I love the GT40s but I am now put off this one 🙁
Just spoken to Scalextric. They are going to send a replacement and collect this one from me but not until after Christmas 😪 I'm glad this isn't my first Scalextric model as it would have been my last 😞😞😞
These were relatively good and fresh when they first came out in the early part of the century but the spit 'clam shell' top part was always messy and essentially, I believe, a production cost design feature to deliver the GT40 and the GT MKII (the rear ends are distinctly different designs) against the same front end mould? I have found with my own red Filipinetti 'No14' MK1 that the six (?) clamshell screws wear over time and then the three main body parts no longer fit snugly together - even with the screw holes refilled with epoxy resin.
It is properly time for Scalextric to refresh from scratch and have a separate mould for each of these two main references thereby obviating the need for a split upper body. As you inform, the glued on chassis part of the shell is properly unacceptable in terms of slot car maintenance and this then making this model unfit for purpose as a slot car and perhaps testimony to the consideration that today's injection mould samples no longer align properly such that glue is now needed to keep the thing snug and in line and together as originally worked and intended?
Personally, and as a major fellow GT40 fan, my advice would be to drop £125 (if you are using Pendle) on one of three GTMKIIs which, I see, have landed out of Santa's sack from BRM this very day (23 December) in 1:24 scale - Scalextric track is too narrow gauge to properly race a pair side by side. Yes, too late now for Christmas but I promise you will not be disappointed by this 2024 mould. I have been waiting for this day for around 18 months and with the gold Scalextric finding as an irrelevant foot note to my mind and for the reasons here stated. BRM start with three 1966 liveries two of which were Dan Gurney cars and, if you can stretch for it, then why not run to collect all three?
@MrDarrenp40 thanks so much for your detailed and informative response buddy. Unfortunately the BRM cars are not an option as like you have stated they're unsuitable for my scalextric track. I'm awaiting a replacement car from Scalextric which hopefully will be finished to a better standard. If this is not the case I will be claiming a refund and either investing in an NSR GT40 MK4 or waiting for Slotit to release another mk1 or mk2 version. Again I thank you for your comment and wish you a very merry Christmas and prosperous new year 🎄🎄🎄
@@robertsale6528 Robert - you will be able to run a 1:24 BRM on Scalextric track. With an 8cm lane width then racing two of these side by side may cause a crash at 1:24 (Carrera track has 10cm lanes) but these are probably similar in dimension to, say, a Scalextric FAB1 Thunderbirds car and if all you want is to run alone against the clock then this is just fine. They are £125 a pop and whilst I am not trying to sell you one I do know, from your enthusiasm for this most splendid design, that you would relish and cherish it. It's up to you and I am just here out to make you and others aware against my own experience of earlier BRM models - natably the Porsche 917k
Big difference in quality. Interesting about Taiwan vs China. Not sure if I have seen a Taiwan slot car before. Nice video🏁
@Lews_SlotCarTesting thanks buddy, this is my first and hopefully last Taiwan car otherwise my relationship with Scalextric could well be over😞😞 Wishing you and your family a very merry Christmas and a happy new year 🎅🌲🎅🌲🎅🌲
Shocking quality control, the thing they said they were going to be on top of! That gear mesh sounds horrible Rob, they need to sort themselves out.
Merry Christmas Rob to you and your family. ❤🎉🎄🎅👍🍻
Cheers Paul, lot of issues with what should have been a great selling car. It seems that it's not just my car that has the issue with the chassis being glued to the body 😞😞😞 Merry Christmas to you and yours mate 🎅🌲🎅🌲🎅🌲
Thats a shame... being a scaley fan.. it's not good for the hobby. Can't recall seing a body glued to chassis. Thanks for the sharing information. Merry Christmas n Happy New Year..
Thanks for the comment dafingers, really nice to hear from you. Very poor from scalextric this time. Wish you and Gloria a very merry Christmas my friend 🎄🎄🎄
@@robertsale6528 I will let Gloria know... Hope the new year brings peace n comfort. And better from scalextric..
ROB.. THAT GT40 , reminds me of how eldon bodies felt back in the day. I bought the 4 carerra nascars that were just released, n my first impression was, bodies don't feel like I think they should either. Sometimes manufactures are in too big of a hurry to get product to shelf, hense... quality suffers. The Gt40 should be made of good quality being an iconic breed. . Have a great Christmas hope Santa is good to you. Peace, Brother
That’s shite bud,get ur money bk asap ! Greetings from Portsmouth England 🏴
Having spoken to Scalextric, they are sending a replacement out so I will check the quality. If it's still not up to standard I will be demanding a refund and will invest the money in another better quality car. Greetings from South Wales valleys 👍👍👍
i swear someone is in like so many UK manufaturers that do producton abroad are being sabotaged or their complicit in selling junk at extortionate prices and its disrespectful to its customer base thats loyal to them and they say they watch and listen to the community yet only the other brands are acting on the likes and words of their customers such a shame
Can't do anything but agree with you Dan 😪😪😪
Agree DT, you only have to look at other manufacturers to see that Scalextric are behind in quality control, performance and quality in general. For the price they charge they should be perfect.
@@SlotCar2021 that cheap RC car i just bought by Rastar is better quality £44 compare that to a £78 or more its theft as far as im concerned
Yes seen the 50 note rc cars that look amazing and run without a rail.
GT40 NOT you!😮 sorry to hear that, would be very disappointed. but other looks better it gulf livery. 🤣😂 glued wtf hope they just replace it. sounds like maybe mischief amuck with that particular one. Merry Christmas Rob to you and your Family. yea just not good car.
I'm hoping it's just a case of the naughty elf has been up to his tricks but I fear it could.be a more serious issue😪 Merry Christmas to you and yours buddy 🌲🎅🌲🎅🌲🎅🌲🎅
