    After doing a remodel of the the original does it give you a new build sheet(material list) I’m new to it just looking for some advice. So far I love it just can’t seem to get where it gives me new material list only the original material list of current house design. Thanks

      The data Hover provides is for the initial takeoff, no real adjustments for remodeling. The way I do it is to import the model into SketchUp, then do whatever remodeling/modifications/finishes needs to be done there, and get the takeoffs using Estimator for SketchUp. Great combo to get the basic model quickly and cheaply, then modify to suit your needs and get estimates. Hope this helps!

    Thanks for this demo, nicely done and great info. Quick question, how are you orbiting around with out actually using the orbit tool? I just don't notice the orbit icon coming up as you move around the model. Thanks

      Great question! I use a 3D mouse from 3dconnexion.com. That mouse stays in my left had and I use it to smoothly maneuver around SketchUp. You should check it out, I am lost without it!

    Does hover have option to modify a home? Meaning can you add a deck, roof… etc

    • @BrockWorksInc
      @BrockWorksInc  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi! No, you cannot model in Hover BUT you can easily add decks, roofs, etc. by importing the Hover model into SketchUp and add decks, etc. in SketchUp - works great!

      @@BrockWorksInc what’s app you recommend for such applications?

  • @XYZ-Drafting_and_Designs

    Hi Brock. If this app does interior scans could you make a video about that. I appreciate the wealth of knowledge you've shown to the world. Thanks.

    • @BrockWorksInc
      @BrockWorksInc  ปีที่แล้ว

      You can do interior scans, but it is done by taking a bunch of photographs as you walk each room in a precise manner. I think it has a ways to go at this point, but promising. Thanks!

      @@BrockWorksInc I reached out to Hover and they have given me access to the interior measurement option. I'd told then you made a TH-cam video on their product is how I new the company existed. They may reach out to you. I just bought your book on SketchUp up for builders. Im super excited to read it. Thanks for all you do for the SU community.

    Thanks for sharing! Very interesting option. What export options (file formats) does it provide for the 3D model? I wasn't able to find anything on the Hover.to website.

    • @AjaxMED
      @AjaxMED 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Nevermind, I was able to increase the video resolution and see the Export screen options...
      Measurements: XLSX, PDF, JSON, XML, XML 2.0.
      3D: SKP, DWG, DXF.
      Photos: unknown, likely JPG or PNG.
      Estimating: ESX (Xactimate software).

    First you said an hour and a half later you got the 3D rendering then you said instantly. Definitely interested in what it does but we sell retail roofing and are looking for something to present to the customer while we’re in the house trying to one call close them. Is this possible or would it have to be done hours before getting to the house?

    • @BrockWorksInc
      @BrockWorksInc  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The hour later was when I got to my next job site, I do not know precisely how long it took. For existing homes, and taking the 8 pics, I think they have their cycle time to 30-60 minutes. So it should be doable to take the pics, upload and talk to the owners about options, etc., and by then you should have a model to show them and let them see it with different materials, colors, etc. I do new customs, so I have not used it from that aspect, but that is how I would approach it. Sell them while you are there!

      Hi Michael! We use Estimator for SketchUp, which is a SketchUp extension I developed years ago.

    • @michaelpreston7384
      @michaelpreston7384 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You can use that for estimates we do roofing siding windows Interior remodeling also kitchens baths

    • @BrockWorksInc
      @BrockWorksInc  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@michaelpreston7384 We are custom home builders and build detailed digital twins (SketchUp models) of every project and estimate everything using Estimator for SketchUp. If you are doing re-roof or siding/windows, you may get all you need from the takeoffs from Hover. If you, for example, added a porch roof or other alteration, and model it in SketchUp, you could use Estimator to do all the new takeoffs. You can also use Estimator for kitchens and baths, tile, etc. You can get 3D components for fixtures (on the 3D Warehouse for example) and assign cost data to each component, then report the totals. You can use the Length, Area and Volume tools in Estimator for takeoffs as well.

    does hover work for designing decks?

    • @BrockWorksInc
      @BrockWorksInc  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No, it is not a modeling software, BUT you can import the Hover model into a program like SketchUp and easily add decks to the model without having to model the house or have any dimensions (Hover model is accurate)

    Can it add an addition on the house in 3D?

    • @BrockWorksInc
      @BrockWorksInc  ปีที่แล้ว

      You can use the Hover app to capture the existing home, then export to SketchUp, the 3D modeling program we use, to model the addition. I use the Pro version of SketchUp, but you can open the model in the free online version as well, and use the various tools to "build" your addition
