This anime has been on my watch list for literally the last 4 and a half years and I finally got around to binging it on Hulu, and despite being only 24ep it's def in my top 10. I don't think an anime has ever made me fall in love with so many characters in such a short amount of time, and all of em basically die at the end 😢. It does ease the pain a bit when the canon ending has Mine and Tatsumi surviving(albeit as a dragon) Kind of wished for more episodes to see Tatsumi revert back to his old self and for Akame to cure her curse, and for the surviving members to have a little reunion
In Manga Mine is alive and she is with Tatsumi who turned into a dragon because he lost control of his teigu,Kurome is alive and she live together with Wave and Akame's teigu Murasame is broken against Esdeath in fight and she have curse all over her body which give her big pain so she started to travell and search to find a way to remove that curse and if is possible to restore Murasame in previous form.

I suggest reading the manga. However there is a manga spin off series called akame gah kill Zero. It began its serialization on October 25th, 2013 in the eleventh issue of Monthly Big Gangan. While there isn’t much news about akame ya kill season 2. It’s likely that they would do it based on Zero.
There's no way there could ever be a season 2 because the anime screwed everything up. It's literally a fucking crime. Just read the manga. There's akame ga kill zero which is a prequel of akame ga kill (obviously) it shows akame when she was a kid and how she got to the point in the show and the sequel manga is called hinowa ga yuku (yuku=crush) I don't really remember too much, but I think akame uses a book imperial arms that has a map of the entire world and can teach you all the languages in the world to find somewhere to undo murasame's curse on her body and also see about turning tatsumi back into a human Because in the manga, he doesn't die, he turns into a dragon
