I am sorry to hear that you have lost your motivation to make journal videos. Your reviews were always so helpful to me. You showed us so many brands of notebooks that I have never known of. You broadened my horizon in a way, even if I wasn't able to afford any of them. I enjoyed watching them. 🖤🖤
I'm very grateful the algorithm brought me back here. I saw the name and knew it sounded familiar I went back to an X17/Moleskin review and saw a comment from my old account from 4 years ago. Time has flew by but you still have a beautiful gift that God has gifted you with articulating your words and helping others with similar interests. Your reviews inspired me to try many notebooks. I stopped journaling but am starting to get back into it. Thank you for your hard work in making these videos.

Awww I thank you for your honesty. It takes a lot to put yourself out there and be open. If you decide in the future to come back, I'd really love to see some of the spaces you journal in. Maybe like a journal with me video where your camera only picks up the view and maybe your notebook as you write. Not really sure if I explained that right, but I love those types of videos.
I did switch to leuchtturm after quality issues with moleskine but I understand what you mean about moleskine just feeling proper. They used to be my go-to! When I compare old and new notebooks you can totally feel the difference.

I used to be obsessed with Moleskines. I feel like the paper changed over the years also. It’s not as soft and smooth. And they no longer have the ‘70 gsm’ on the package like they used to.
I feel so validated by this video. I’ve used moleskin planners for more than 16 years and this is the first year the paper feels flimsy and not as high quality. It would only be a difference to someone who uses it as long as I did. I’m having a high emotional response to it and had no idea how much I relied on this product and the quality until they took it away. Very sad about it.
Okay I saw this video a while ago and have been looking everywhere for it because I just bought a new Moleskine and remembered your video! I noticed the new soft covers with their manifesto inside, and the paper was so thin. I quick pulled my older ones and compared the old creamy paper to the thin flimsy new paper and was so upset! The cover too, I felt was thinner and did not like the way it felt in my hands and that is the number reason why I purchase Moleskine! I wanted to know have you quit Moleskine all together or do you think it’s just a rough patch for them?
I find that Noodler's Black with a fine or extra fine nib work pretty well with a recent Moleskine Cashiers notebook. If I find paper I like I'll try to adapt to its limitations.
I’ve actually heard before that the cahiers for some reason are more fountain pen friendly. I just never cared for thin staple bound notebooks. Yeah if you like something you’re more willing to compromise.
I personally, thoroughly enjoy your honest reviews and hope someday you will get that spark again. I know it’s a tremendous amount of effort to create content and I believe you will find the inspiration and motivation to create once again. I want to give the W to Baron Fig but that Moleskine size is just perfecto. I enjoy the CR Gibson Markings faux leather cover journals for pencil or fine point pens at work.
Alicia (Adventure Denali) has found that the Moleskine Expanded has FP friendly paper IF it has a particular colour quality check sticker in it, BUT this cannot be seen until you open the book anyway as it's inside the back pocket doh! 🤦🏻♂I want to love Moleskine so much as like you, this was my start to carrying a book many years ago but their paper really is rubbish for FP. Pleeaase keep doing video's 🙏🏻 I've been watching for years and always watch when you upload a new one. Very useful and your IG posts are always interesting from your travels. Don't give up on the channel😃

Hi there! There are so many good journals out there! Depends on what’s important to you- your personal preferences. My favorite paper is found in the Rhodia Webnotebook and the Quo Vadis Habana. I also like Leuchtturm 1917. Feel free to browse around my channel and see if any of the notebooks l’ve reviewed look appealing to you.

It’s been years since I purchased the journals so you might wanna double check if they still are the same dimensions.
Hi Joy Could you please verify where is manufactured the old and the new one? I recently found some books (probably notebooks too) that with the covid changed their manufacturing / printed operations from let say Italy, German or US to China, where of course is a cheap one but they lost their main quality features, and they kept the same sale price.
I would love it if you did a video on the pocket Field Notes. .. I just do not get the love for those. Stabled! Bad paper! And irritation print on cover.
I just got an expanded moleskine and the paper is just atrocious. The design and tactile feel of the cover is amazing but they cut all the corners possible with the paper quality. Shame since at this point I can only make my handwriting look good with fountain pens.
I’m sorry you are disappointed. I have always been fond of the softcover pocket moleskine. Have you ever given Stalogy notebooks a try? I’ve found those are a good alternative for a similar notebook although they aren’t the same thing. I’m also sorry you’ve been feeling down about the channel. 😢I’ve always enjoyed your videos over the years. I look forward to any future content! ❤

Of course it matters. Same reason people buy a Ferrari and not a beat up Toyota. Both cars will get you from A to B. Sad you don’t understand the concept of beauty.
