Great video, I am one of those who are anxious about resining. I found a cool product called BriteTone by Crystallac and they are heat resistent too but you just paint it on in thin coats about 4-5 and it can be done without a respirator. Worked well for me so far. Just curing now for about 30 days. Maybe one day I will do this when my BriteTone is finished. It is definitely cheaper than resin though. I'll see how durable it is once cured I guess. But thank you for showing this video. ❤
Thanks Joey, I’ve heard of BriteTone, good things too, but you have to do what works for you. Too many horror stories about resin, it’s really no big deal!
@@LouiseMcKayArt The other factor is I am not currently selling my art. I make a coaster set for a friend or a wedding shower gift so getting a mask and spending all that money just didn't make sense. But you never know what the future holds. I appreciate all that I've learned from you and I may just be good enough to sell things one day. Still new to bloom technique at the moment.❤
I use KS resin liquid stone with the high UV resistance. If you go to the description under the video, you’ll have find a link and discount code of 10% off if you wanted to use it.
Hiii! I always thought I had to clean the tiles somehow (I prefer washing the painted side with dish soap) to make sure any oils on the surface were removed before resining. Is this an u unnecessary step before resin? I use silicon in some of my paints.
Hi Paulette, so yes, before hand I wipe the painted tiles down with a spritz of isopropyl alcohol on a paper towel to remove and oils from handling with my hands. Dish soap is probably just fine, I haven’t used that though. So, yes, wipe oils off first. I don’t use silicone, so I have no experience, but I’ve seen others talk about wiping their pieces with dish soap to remove the silicone prior to resining. My understanding is that if you don’t wipe down a tile or canvas before resining and you have either oils from your hands or silicone remaining, that will repel the resin and leave divots.

Awe, thank you Cheryl, Honestly it took me a little bit to get used to my voice when recording videos lol
