I wish there were some sample pieces that hadn't been covered in sand before firing. It looks like the sand is becoming a glass glaze. It also looks too sharp to touch.
The efficiency of this kiln is overstated. It failed when flames were coming out of the chimney. That's lost heat that could have been recirculated. Even a well designed rocket stove will achieve secondary (i.e. complete) combustion with flue exhaust temperature rarely reaching three figures.
This is InI future. I will have to make a trip to Taiwan. This guy is the greatest!
