In my ending Orpheus became illithid and I killed him afterwards to fulfill his request after he crowned Lazael as the revolutionary leader, I sent Laezel back to her people to rescue them atop a red dragon and she promised to immortalize the MC's name in Gith history as the liberator, Karlach almost died but I had Wyll escort her back to hell as he also became the blade of Avernus and he refused to take on the role of Archduke despite his father's request, Astarion became a vampire lord and he stayed with me to rebuild the city (he could become an enemy in the future but for now we are allies). I encouraged Gale to go seek the crown and try to become a god of magic. Jaheira and Minsc were happy that we won and they stayed with us, Shadowheart was my main romance and she was still missing her parents at the end after she had to let them go in order to escape Shar's influence, she and the Mc stayed together. After that the game shows you the city of Baldur's gate getting rebuilt and the MC getting the Balduran's treatment as a savior (I killed him in his Illithid form btw, couldn't trust him after what he did to Ansur). Post credit scene has whom I suspect to be Jergal mocking the dead three and showing his satisfaction at the result of this war between the absolute and mortals. THE END

There should be a way to save everyone and give them happy endings if you could get access to either the clone or reincarnate spell. With clone, you make a copy of someone's body and the person's soul transfers to the clone when they die. With reincarnate, you create a new body for a recently deceased person and their soul transfers to it. In either case, the person retains all their knowledge and experience in the new body.

If you worship multiple gods and committed some bad crimes, your soul could get sent to the Abyss or the Hells if none of the gods try to claim it. Your soul could be imprisoned by a powerful being like a dragon, lich, or a god to prevent resurrection or passage to the afterlife. Your soul could be obliterated by a powerful enough entity. In the Good ending for Astarion when he stay a spawn, he will visit the MC at night and one outcome is that the MC and Astarion goes on a journey to find a way for him to walk in the Sun again without becoming Cazador 2.0. The other option for Astarion's Good ending is that he becomes the leader of the surviving spawn of Cazador to teach them how to control their vampire desires and become a forces of good, Astarion and the MC become a Duo Hero team of the night, and Astarion and MC settle down together.

@@orrthehunter The problem I feel is, Astarion's reward for chosing to do the right thing is that... he gets to be with Tav? (As killing Cazador is something the heroes needed to do anyway.) But Astarion's own character quest and the Tav romance are two completely different things. The BG3 writers made the Tav-Astarion romance with highest approval rating the prerequisite for Astarion refusing the Rite of Ascension, and him refusing the Rite the prerequisite for the romance to succeed. Astarion's personal path is so deeply entwined with Tav existing and romancing him, which is not the case with any other companion character. Astarion is also the only character negatively affected by the heroes defeating the Cult of the Absolute and killing the tadpoles.
Throughout the entire campaign we've been assuring him we'd help him find a way to either control the tadpole so he could keep it or find a way for him to walk in the sun… but the game never even gave us the opportunity. So effectively we lied to him to string him along. And after the tadpoles are dead, Astarion is actually worse off than he was at the start of Act 1.
What happens if Tav never romanced Astarion in the first place? Or if their relationship never progressed to a point where Astarion genuinely fell in love with Tav and felt safe enough to reveal his broken true self under his masks, instead of merely instinctively trying to seduce and manipulate Tav to gain him as a protector, as Astarion admits to doing at first?
In an Origin character run without Tav (and with none of the other Origin characters tied up in their own private quests really caring about Astarion), where Astarion is thus all alone, the issue becomes even more glaring: Astarion's reward for not ascending is… what? The lovely warm feeling to have kept his own soul pristine and not have sacrificed thousands of insane starved vampires spawn for whom death would've been a mercy? Oh wait, that's the lovely warm feeling of him burning in the sun.
I know some people really want to foist responsibility for Cazador's sins onto Astarion when they say he first needs to work for his "redemption", but it honestly feels wrong to me, as as a vampire spawn Astarion was nothing but a tool, a victim himself, literally unable to disobey direct orders from Cazadors due to mind control, and the story spends a lot of time showing us the acts of torture and humiliation Cazador inflicted on Astarion to break his spirit, even though the worst memories, like "the Year of Hell" of Cazador burying him alive in sensory isolation and starvation, are hidden under dialogue choices where we have to act heartless towards Astarion and probe his mind to even get to unearth them.

@@IDontKnowYouWhoAreYou Orpheus in my opinion. That is because there is a side quest that will reveal the Emperor lied to you about who he really is and his reason for wanting to defeat the Brain.
It is revealed when you find the dead body of Ansur that the Emperor is actually Balduran, one of the founders of Baldur's Gate. He did not break free from the brain's control on his own but had help from his friend Ansur. Ansur tried to find a way to reverse his transformation into a Illithid but could not find a way. However, during that time the Emperor actually enjoyed the power he was given as a Illithid. He saw it as something for him to become something "greater". Both sides handled the situation poorly being that Ansur tried to kill the Emperor because he feared he will lose himself as a Illithid and the Emperor did not try to reason with Ansur and instead went right for the kill. In the end the Emperor's true reason for wanting to kill the Brain is to remove what he believes is the only threat to his ascension to a more powerful being. It was never about doing the right thing, it was about removing a threat to his chance at greater power. It is why he refused to be reasoned with if you choose to free Orpheus because Orpheus is a threat to him reaching what he believe to be becoming something greater for himself.

No. There's only the two options: He ascends and goes crazy and becomes Cazador 2.0, or he refuses the Rite and gets metaphorically kicked in the balls by the story because he loses his immunities. Well, you could go for an evil ending where the Absolute wins and the characters keep the controlled tadpoles, I guess, but then they're sort of slaves to the cult? The problem is that Astarion's only "reward" for nobly refusing the Rite is praise from Tav for doing the ethical thing and Astarion begrudgingly admitting he is glad about "not losing myself", and a continued romance with Tav. But what if Tav never romanced him, or their relationship isn't really deep enough that Astarion actually fell in love?
The writers entwined the Tav-Astarion romance and Astarion's personal quest so deeply, unlike with any other companion, that Astarion really has zero reason to refuse the Rite if he isn't in a relationship with anyone who can protect him after he loses the tadpole. Which is kind of sad.
He is free from Cazador, yes, but the heroes would have killed Cazador anyway.

      Yeah ... no.
      Not really.
Thing is now Astarion is a vampire spawn without a true vampire behind him backing him up.
For how depraved and evil Cazador was Astarion was "his property" meaning he was under protection from Cazador.
If something had been done to Astarion without his permission he would punish and if they are lucky kill the perpetrators in retaliation.
Now Astarion hasn't that protection anymore meaning his "usual behavior" is bound to draw the attention of other true vampires.
Remember True Vampires are extremely selfish, arrogant and evil pricks by default.
Meaning in the end Astarion will end up a slave to a different True Vampire or dead while in the meantime while waiting on that he will "live" in fear.
There is no happy ending for Shadowheart, Astarion *OR* Karlach.
One more or less by design, one has a "semi-feelgood ending that is not good when thought about it" and one has her ending cut.

      Becoming a mind flayer sucks.
It destroys your immortal soul, so no afterlife when you die. And while you live you have to feed on peoples brains to stay alive. Yeah sure ypu get really powerful psionic abillitys but still you lose yourself for it.

There has to be some dlcs. We were left with some cliffhangers. Id like to fight besides laezel and her people.also ghales quest for power or either freedom would be a good dlc.i don't know but the thing about 17000 endings 😑😑.i mean its good bad and dark urge bad. I cant how this defers for a thousand endings

    • @Sam-yo3bj
      @Sam-yo3bj ปีที่แล้ว

17000 comes very quickly when you start to multiply all the variables together.
Every companion's presence or lack of is a different variation to the end. Add to this if you romance a companion, if companion ls left/died, if you carried out their companion quests, etc.
So whilst there are only a handful of actual story ends, the variations are easily in the thousands.

I can see some nice DLC's
      - Avernus Campaign: You start with Karlach in hell and your main character and kicks ass
      - Avernus START: You begin the game by crashing into Avernus and need to get OUT first
      - The entire SSI gold box RPG's made with the BG3 engine
