As much as I love The Walten Files, I feel like the story would've been much better had it been set in the mid-late 80s to early-mid 90s, as there are several parts of TWF that go against the series' mid-70s to early-80s feel.
So glad that you mentioned Great Choice. It's an underrated short, and I wish more analog horror did stuff like this with commercials. The reveal at the end was amazing. The only unfortunate thing about it is that it can be tough to find online. I was eventually able to find it on a Russian website for free, but it took a bit of digging.
I don't know if it counts but Brian David Gilbert's "Teaching Jake about the camcorder, Jan '97" worked so well for me because it came out of nowhere and is nothing like the content he made before! There isn't like a big spook moment but instead it's endless build-up
As an older person I don't really "get" analog horror. It either is very comfortable and nostalgic or very distracting because the "analog" effects are so poorly done. Skycorp actually records their videos on real analog then converts them to digital.
For me, one thing as to what makes a _good_ analog horror video, whether it's a one-off or a series, is how close said analog horror video is towards the format that it's trying to replicate. Out of the several analog horror videos that I've seen in the past, only a select few were able to ACTUALLY capture as to what an actual video on analog format would look like. The rest tend to use some sort of shitty VHS filter and calling it a day, often forgetting the fact that said videos are supposed to pass themselves as recordings that were made for a VHS format.
Analog horror is good because it has that feeling of nostalgia and yet looks creepy but goes south horror wise in some cases my favorites are: Local 58 Monument mythos Walten files Vita carnis
If anyone has recs for analog horror that does NOT rely on Uncanny Valley Nightmare Faces it would be much appreciated because I am a wimp and the only series I've tolerated so far are Winter of 83, White Stag Education, and Angel Hare.
@SirFooplesTheThird I just asked if there were any recs for crying out loud. And the fact I gave three titles WITHOUT UC should mean that statement's not entirely true.
Great video! I know this comment isn’t related to the video, but it is related to most of the channel videos. I need help to create a road safety psa on distracted and/or buzzed driving that can be a psa, radio ad, or billboard sign with a bit of irony or humor and a call to action with creativity. I need this for a scholarship since my parents can’t afford college and most scholarships are about grades and activities and I’m not the perfect straight A student council student unfortunately. Since this channel was mostly about psas and I know how many of ya’ll like psas like me do you have any suggestions to make a poster or ad? Please I really need this. Thanks for your help in advance 🩵.

I suggest Pastras analog horror series Dreams of a Insomniac, it's a very underrated series that doesn't get enough attention

never heard of Kid With A Camera before this video, it looks absolutely chilling. great video!!
I've been looking to get more into analog horror, tbh. Thanks for all the recommendations.

It's kind of a staple of the genre. It's not analog horror without uncanny valley

Analog Horror is fucking HORRIFYING, if done right.
