As a SRAD owner I no idea the TL unit was compatible with a little mod. The only criticism I have had about the bike has been the clutch. Some great advice as always👍🏻
@Tony Hobson I have left many comment but haven't gotten answers yet, hoping since this is a more recent comment and video you will answer to help me. I just recently purchased a 96 srad, u said only complaints u have is the clutch... ive noticed my clutch is kinda clunky almost seems like something is loose sometimes is that what you are talking about? I am trying to figure out if thats how the srad clutches are or if i have something going on. Again if you could answer to help that would be amazing.
Hi there, I appreciate this is an old post but I was wondering if you happened to measure the clutch stack height before you put it back together as I’m just at the stage of installing a TL1000 5 spring clutch into my SRAD 750X and don’t won’t to burn up another pack because it’s slipping? Thank you in advance and I hope this reaches you. Great vids by the way, really helpful. 😀👍🏻
7:24 my srad is missing those 3 screw and instead of that really long pipe, my clutch only has a smaller knob looking piece, any help? edit: 3:16 i have that plunger (knob peice) but am missing that massive rod you remove after it. bike somehow ran a whole season fine though.
Thank you for the helpful video. I have a 99 SRAD 750 track only bike, and I always wondered why the rear wheel would hop much more than my other GSXR trackbikes. The SRAD rear wheel hopping is bad. I will take your advice and install a TLR clutch assembly. Danke
I have a SRAD 750 from 1996. Is it normal that the bike have some space in the gas handle..like 1,5, 2 MM it feels not really fine. Greetz from Holland
@@jeffbo3248 Hi Jeff, if you mean that the gas handle can turn for like 2mm without any acceleration happening, then you can adjust that by tensioning the cables the handle pulls on. There's a lot of tutorial videos on youtube for that. I agree that 2mm is too much, but leaving a little play (0.5-1mm maybe) is recommended so the bike doesn't go wild if something just touches the handle.
Hey, I'm sorry but all my SRADs are FI. So I can't help you with anythin regarding the carbs. Maybe you can check the Workshop manual to see if there is anything usefull in there.

Thanks for the comment. I think the damages case was earlier. I rode one trackday where I blew one of the coolant hoses. I can't say that the bike overheated but this could be the root cause for this total failiure.
Brand new is dificult and very expensive. A cheap upgrade is the radioator from a zx7r. You can see is on the bike. Problem here is that they are even older than the SRAD radiators and hard to find in decent shape. First thing you could try is to remove the thermostat. This usually helps reduing the engine temp by a few degrees.
@@thesradchannel8818 Today, I actually managed to find a brand new OEM radiator. It cost me about 550 Euro. I hope this improves the cooling a bit. But I'll also get the engine tuned on a dyno because it's probably running a bit lean.
Hello, I was really hoping that I can reach out to you, and ask some questions about the clutch on this bike. I’m having a lot of trouble and would really appreciate the help🙏🏻🙏🏻
@@thesradchannel8818 ok... so I have a 2000 GSX-R600 engine on a go kart. The engine works fine, but the clutch is giving me problems. Today I disassembled the whole thing just as your video showed so see if something was broken, but nothing was. Essentially whenever I tried to use the clutch, the clutch push-rod would not budge. It is almost like it’s frozen, but I know it’s not because after disassembly everything looked great but still has that problem. It’s like the clutch will not disengage. Even when using the wooden handle of a hammer, the clutch would not disengage. It’s really causing a lot of problems and I really am stuck. Plz any help would be greatly appreciated🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
@@peterhernandez572 It's difficult to troubleshoot over the internet. But you could check that the actuator of the pushrod is in good and working order. the clutch is quite stiff so pushing the rod by hand won't open the clutch. If everything looks good check the assembly of the cluth step by step according to the workshop manual. Its more detailed than my videos.
What year TL clutches match up with the 96 srads? Would be awesome if you answered. Great detailed video by the way. Going to scroll up and subscribe rn. Hope to hear from you, good luck n ride safe
