    That was a really great video Shaun! I didn't want it to end! Your roads and paths are a lot smoother than what we have over here in England. I think I need to move 😀

      @Johro66 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Videos.by.Glenn yeah I'm in Ireland, and I second that. Roads and paths are awful here.

    • @Snifffski
      @Snifffski 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Couldn't agree more, Glenn. I reckon here in Wales it's even worse. There are some half-decent trails and parks but they're fairly few and far between and you have to do a recce first, and for a beginner/intermediate like me it's pretty restricting. Think I need to move too - I'm getting major surface envy watching these flows!

      Thanks Glen. I didn't want the night to end. It was a great night on the blades.

      Very tempting indeed! Weirdly enough I lived in Calgary for a while as a kid have ways wanted to go back.... Perhaps one day in future I'll walk into ShopTask to buy a new set of skates! Woop! 🙌👊

    Calling out to pass on trails and remembering to breath when a hill approaches is why I love this channel.

  • @loudloveen
    @loudloveen 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Thank you for the reminder, but it's hard to remember to breathe when you guys are going so fast. :) My heart rate goes up! Anyway, what I like the most about your videos is the fact that you have a soothing voice no matter how fast you're going. I used to roller skate when I was a child. Now I'm trying to gather courage to inline skate, but I'm not fit, so perhaps I should lose more weight before I begin.

    Feeling you so insecure motivates me... really, it does! Just knowing that 4 years ago you were skating so nervously like this (it's the point I am at now) makes me believe that maybe (just maybe!) in four years I'll be flowing as gracefully as you do today! :D

    I found myself holding my breath when you bombed that first hill. Quite literally felt myself tense up but a great vid. A nice change to see a long flow vid. Now that fall is on the way here in Canada and the days are getting shorter, what do you suggest as good night gear? We all saw your nice light pad on your backpack and I would like to continue giving you all at Shop Task business. Are the fothon wheels a good measure? (Saw the dead wheels...so wanna try those too)

    When going downhill, do you sometimes get speed wobbles with the wizard frame, considering it's a rockered setup? Thanks

    • @FlowSkate
      @FlowSkate  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      No speed wobbles on the NR100 or NR110. The rocker is very slight. The NR90 frame can be a bit unsteady on fast downhils.

  • @Enigmaafk
    @Enigmaafk 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi Shaun I noticed your friend skate frame is position more on the inner side of the booth is it because he is pronating inward . Reason I ask because i playing with my frame positioning my boot.
    After some reading online if your pronating inward you should move the frame to that direction and vice versa because it causes discomfort or pain even blister. If someone have some experience with this will be more than happy to learn something.

    Hey, thank you for amazing videos! quick question: I just recently started skating and when i skate for a little bit my feet start to hurt. I thought i might have tied my skates too tight but that wasn't it, any tips?

    • @FlowSkate
      @FlowSkate  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It is normal for your feet to be a bit sore as long as you are not getting any painful blisters. Most foot pain will get better with a bit more time.
      One that alway works for me is Superfeet insoles. They are a dream in skates. I personally like the medium arch Superfeet Blue insole. It helps my feet relax in my skates.

    What size wheels and how hard are they were used in this video? Which bearings? You skated over that grass so smoothly. Those are good pavements to skate on, unlike what I got here. Do you ever bring multiple sets of wheels change them out when surface changes? My 87 A' s don't roll across broken and Rocky pavements very well.

    • @FlowSkate
      @FlowSkate  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am skating on 100mm/85a wheels. The softer (lower the durometer) the more smooth the wheels will feel on rough pavement. If you are finding that you are getting caught on cracks and rough pavement, try to skate with your weight further back in your foot. This will decrease the chance of getting caught up.
      I don't change my wheel based on the surface I am skating on. I just rock whatever wheels I have on my skates.

    • @kathycormiersuntanningrebe7870
      @kathycormiersuntanningrebe7870 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Shop Task Thanks so much, I am going to remember that, to put weight on back wheels of skates. I have rollerblades, skateboard and have some Moxie beach bunnies with gummy wheels coming in. There is one thing I found out I love to do, is skate to the park, we have no sk8parks in Crowley, Louisiana, the Crowley recreation dept told me I could skate on two park's tennis courts. Some of the pavements here, I just walk my rollerblade. But thanks so much for the tips, and I love your videos you put out.
