Misasagi is pretty interesting. I've seen her using the Nine Tailed Fox's attacks as well as buffing herself. Of all the villagers I've uses, she was one of the most aggressive and strongest from lower levels

XD I always space of inviting people to my party and end up mostly soloing RF until I remember I can have some help, and lately everyone asks me instead if I want to go on an adventure, and I can never say no. I prefer to only take companions who look like they could reasonably fight or have a history of fighting for rp reasons, but I will keep this in mind when I decide to take on the hard modes! I've taken up the role of healer/blaster mage and that has been very fun with my melee team.

I like the Axe-users in the town. I just think that spinning attack they can do looks cool. And my goodness, I hate the party members that throw Failed/Disastrous Dishes. I've managed to intercept two of them accidentally, and that stinks when it happens.
Oh that's interesting! I think some of their spells or behaviour will change either after a character reaches a certain level or if you marry them. I tested for a while with a level 40 Lucas and he only did elemental spells.
@@JoshGamingGarden maybe because I married him but I noticed he will heal you, i do know some of the characters will learn new things after marriage and if Lucas is under seal spell he throws potions instead

I'd also like to give an Honorable Mention to Palmo. Though he starts at level 1, his starting weapon, the Punching Gloves, is stronger than any other villagers starting weapon except Elsja, and he doesn't have her laziness. Fuuka, too, also starts with a stronger than average weapon, Kote, and she will also eat food to help herself in combat
I just bring along my favorite characters/level them up LMAO. Hina and me are ride or die. It's really neat how every npc has a different battle style too!
Ludmilla using Darkness is actually kinda busted in a strange way. The Darkness spell and Dark Absorber spell both have this suction effect where they pull enemies into them, however this suction effect is pretty weak. I learned a trick however that makes it much stronger. The more instances of these spells cast on the field their suction effect gets amplified. The effect is also multiplicative at least it would have to be considering how strong it gets and how fast. Normally casting these spells you have a down time where you can't move or recast the spell, this however can be canceled by casting a spell on another button. So if you put Dark Absorber, and Darkness (or a duplicate of either) on X and Y, and press them alternately you can in about 3 casts of the spells generate a black hole capable of pulling all the enemies in any given room to your location, at the speed of light. They then take massive dmg from the stacks of Darkness and Dark Absorber orbs. Ludmilla being able to cast these dark spells can add to this black hole effect making it impossible for enemies to move freely.
Gonna throw my hat into the ring and say that Beatrice is pretty great. She pretty much demolishes with hammers late game, even getting the ultimate axe/hammer attack once she's at a high enough level as well as light magic. Also I'm bias and took her everywhere since she's my wife.
Lol, so I've never gone into combat with a villager besides elsje because she was the first person I took into a fight and I just assumed everyone was as slow and useless combat wise as her XD now I see that's not the case. Also I've received and sold about 10 royal curries from her so far and I keep needing to get more since I somehow keep ending up broke despite them XD I'm only at the end of my first spring 😅
Idk how can you broke without her, I just need 1 curry from her and I can end the main story in 10th of Summer first year... At that point I’m basically filthy rich with golden crops and pineapple... But yeah, the only benefits from her is the 500k G curry, which basically everything you will need to end the game.
@@kl9686 I'm bad at managing my money? XD Like I think my 300+ 4 leaf clovers I bought from heinz are a good example of that (and I abuse heinz shop to get alot of expensive things I wouldn't normaly be able to get yet) I also have about 200 corns from before I got lucky and he stocked the clovers.
Priscilla can join your party without doing her first love story event (finding mushroom), however she won't accept to join your party as long she is going to stand at the gate to the forest during the day but after completing the first love story event of your choosing (isn't required to do hers), she'll join your party. She was able to go out with me at Day 7 without doing her love story, I'm using her a lot & still haven't started hers.
Randolf is always such a G when I want to power through the first dungeon faster right when they let me in there. If a villager is mismatched for weapon type they specifically will not use the charge attack for the new weapon, any of the rune abilities for their chosen weapon, and their AI is slowed somewhat. Villager attacking AI gets better as they level up, and caps itself at 100. A Sun Pendant being in your accessory will double a villager's damage output as well as halve the damage they take. This stacks with a White Stone for family members. Since reversed status effects via a Talisman is the literal best thing in this game-for yourself and for villagers in your party-the villagers that heal your statues: Ludmila, Priscilla, and Margaret, are the worst villagers in this game by a mile. It's unfortunate, since I married Ludmila on my first playthrough and found that out the hard way. You have to be at least dating Priscilla and Ludmila to get those heals, by the way. Pretty useful tips early game. I honestly wish that curry trick didn't exist though; it goes against the spirit of the game almost as badly as giving players free tomato seeds at the beginning of the game. You know, they almost patched that out in an early Japanese patch, but that only made it so you have to actually move away from the curry.
u dont need any villager for the first dungeon. just go in the lake area and run avoiding the enemys towards a chest with a 70 atk, 15% crit weapon. makes the first dungeon so easy when it opens. i mean generally all 3 of the first dungeons are so freaking easy u could do it with low level and a broadsword.
There was a similar mechanic to the curry in rf4 so I disagree that it's a bad thing. No one is forcing you to use it, and it helps those of us that want an even more relaxing experience (since money is no longer a grind).

So eh." But then I remember that object X was a thing. So now I carry some with me at all times. So yeah, party members that heal status ailments are a no go for me from then on. I kinda wish the curry thing wasn't there. Now that I know you can do that, that's all I'm going to do early on. Sure I don't _have_ to do it, but the amount you get is so ridiculously high that it's hard to ignore. And it's apparently easy to do according to the video. I wouldn't mind this if it didn't give you so much G. That's way too much to give the player access to that early...I mean, the game is pretty easy as it is, but c'mon now. There's providing easier solutions, and then there's solving the problem for me. Like, maybe make it to where you have to have a relatively high friendship with her first before she throws those at you? I love this game, but it has some balancing issues in my opinion, across the board.

Funny thing about all other Rune Factory series... I never invite others into my team, other than bringing my pets... Keep forgot about them... Like Rune Factory 4... I only know that I can invite them after I win the empire boss...

I only use tamed monsters as allies in dungeons as in early game because they don't desert you at 7 PM 😅 I did not even know you can't have human companions in the last dungeon. My monster pals helped me breezed through the entire game (on normal difficulty). I may need new monsters for the post-game dungeon?
Yea Meg was really useful in rf4 for that reason! But I actually haven't brought her with me in this game 🤷🏻♀️ honestly it's so easy I didn't really need anyone but I brought some friends for the company haha

I always have to have the legendary warrior/adventurer Randolph in my party. Oh, and he has actually thrown bread in my mouth during battle, true story.
randolf does give you bread and raisin tho... an complete package for a newbie. whatever dish he throw is literally a preferred dish to increased most of the all NPC friendship. Lucas also throw his loved dish which is a high lveled include Dish (Fried udon, Tempura Udon, and Udon) but him must 50% health lower

The Red fairy, from ToD, carried me throughout the game. At a high friendship level, it becomes surprisingly tanky, and it has one particular attack that does OBNOXIOUS amounts of damage. To put that last bit in perspective, when I was do first attempting to recruit one, most of its attack did very minimal damage to me. That one special attack though? It one-shot me. Does about the same to enemies and bosses too.
Uh no. Ludimilia also does cure party statuses. It happened for me at the very least. Not sure about Priscilla though. I think she also does cure statuses.
@@realrealwarpet Well, first off you need at least one piece of Orichalcum (Martin can sometimes give you a chunk of Orichalcum as a gift, and you can find *ONE* piece of Orichalcum prior to the post-game on floor two of the Floating Fortress inside of a treasure chest), a Palm Claw (from the "Bunny" type enemies), a "Sticks and Stems" material, a "Mineral" material, and the ability to forge weapons of around level 77. Use those materials to forge a Break Hammer. Next, go to forge anything else and add a Light Ore & the Break Hammer itself to the recipe, and then forge that weapon and your new weapon will now have the absurd stats (7.2K+ ATK!) of the Break Hammer, but with an entirely different weapon type and move-set depending on what the new weapon you're forging happens to be (like a Short Sword or Fist weapon). It can very easily break the game and trivialize anything you run into in the story (unless it's immune to physical damage for whatever reason, which is why I usually add the Light element to such a weapon as well via upgrading it), including the final boss and pretty much all post-game enemies.
@@realrealwarpet The Break Hammer is a level 77 recipe. You need to be no more than 10 levels below the level of a recipe to successfully craft it, otherwise you will *always* fail to craft it, even if you have enough RP. You will also fail to craft it if your max RP is less than the total RP cost of the recipe, and you do not yet know the actual recipe.
Ludmila also cures status ailments. (Well, either her, or Misasagi. I'm not 100% sure which it is because I always have Ludmila in my party and almost always have Misasagi in, but I have definitely noticed they recover status ailments without any action on my end; it just takes a little while.)
drop rates seem so obnoxiously low in this game that creating equipment for optional characters is basiclly pointless. ive played about 300 hours so far and STILL dont have equipment for the main fella let alone others game needs an update to increase drop rates by at least 5000%
It’s my understanding that the main source of drops is supposed to be from spell stealing! That’s probably why the drop rates are terrible. I was going into this game assuming it would be close enough to RF4… that being said, the Happy Ring and rare cans will be your friend if you’re relying on drops from killing the monsters.
@@jeevethedruid8067 That is actually wrong here, even in RF4 drops were rare, but rare cans, happy rings and clover(giant or not) all help immensly to give an example(taken from reddit) the final boss drops something(Nul symbol) at ~.2% of the time with all of those combined it only on yourself goes to ~3.9%(or ~ 19X more effective) with all villagers with items with those on, it goes to 18.8% or 94X better chance of getting the symbol(or 1 in 500 in game days, to about 1 in 6) With certain drops, this makes them 100%, for example melody bottle, from siren goes from a 60% drop chance, to by yourself with those 3 items, it goes to 75%, with all party members it goes to 100%(in fact its actual drop rate at that point is 720/650 but going over 100% does nothing, so effectively 100%). From what people tested, spell seal doesn't get the bonus from those items. So by far the best way is 3 villagers with those items(btw the rare can needs to be forged on a weapon, and double/10 fold steeling them does nothing, and they dont stack, so no crafting it in base recipe then again in upgrading same with clover but that can be put into anything else iirc), also every item drop rolls separately, so its possible to get 2-4 drops at a time from monsters easily with this set up

Lucas does heal though (all cure) and he throws you cooked meal/potion if you are his lover. I think he's top tier support character.

I always have to have the legendary warrior/adventurer Randolph in my party. Oh, and he has actually thrown bread in my mouth during battle, true story.
Scarlett may not throw the best potions but i think she makes up for it with the seal and fast duel swords in my opinon anyways

randolf does give you bread and raisin tho... an complete package for a newbie. whatever dish he throw is literally a preferred dish to increased most of the all NPC friendship. Lucas also throw his loved dish which is a high lveled include Dish (Fried udon, Tempura Udon, and Udon) but him must 50% health lower

The Red fairy, from ToD, carried me throughout the game. At a high friendship level, it becomes surprisingly tanky, and it has one particular attack that does OBNOXIOUS amounts of damage.
To put that last bit in perspective, when I was do first attempting to recruit one, most of its attack did very minimal damage to me. That one special attack though? It one-shot me. Does about the same to enemies and bosses too.
Darroch, Terry for dmg, simone / ludmilla for heal. Pets are odd in fight like in rf 4, almost attack at random xd (i have an lv 55 or so chicken...)
How do you create the actual party though? Once you have 3 characters picked out, how do you get the three of them to come with you?
For some reason my Scarlet walks like a slug. I invested good equips on her but she's still good.

Uh no. Ludimilia also does cure party statuses. It happened for me at the very least. Not sure about Priscilla though. I think she also does cure statuses.
Reinhard has been pumping out the dps and does it quite often compared to the others for me.

Not if you exploit Light Ore & the Break Hammer. That turns pretty much any enemy in the game into a joke as long as they can't one-shot you.

@@realrealwarpet Well, first off you need at least one piece of Orichalcum (Martin can sometimes give you a chunk of Orichalcum as a gift, and you can find *ONE* piece of Orichalcum prior to the post-game on floor two of the Floating Fortress inside of a treasure chest), a Palm Claw (from the "Bunny" type enemies), a "Sticks and Stems" material, a "Mineral" material, and the ability to forge weapons of around level 77. Use those materials to forge a Break Hammer.
Next, go to forge anything else and add a Light Ore & the Break Hammer itself to the recipe, and then forge that weapon and your new weapon will now have the absurd stats (7.2K+ ATK!) of the Break Hammer, but with an entirely different weapon type and move-set depending on what the new weapon you're forging happens to be (like a Short Sword or Fist weapon). It can very easily break the game and trivialize anything you run into in the story (unless it's immune to physical damage for whatever reason, which is why I usually add the Light element to such a weapon as well via upgrading it), including the final boss and pretty much all post-game enemies.

@@realrealwarpet The Break Hammer is a level 77 recipe. You need to be no more than 10 levels below the level of a recipe to successfully craft it, otherwise you will *always* fail to craft it, even if you have enough RP. You will also fail to craft it if your max RP is less than the total RP cost of the recipe, and you do not yet know the actual recipe.
Ludmila also cures status ailments. (Well, either her, or Misasagi. I'm not 100% sure which it is because I always have Ludmila in my party and almost always have Misasagi in, but I have definitely noticed they recover status ailments without any action on my end; it just takes a little while.)

drop rates seem so obnoxiously low in this game that creating equipment for optional characters is basiclly pointless. ive played about 300 hours so far and STILL dont have equipment for the main fella let alone others
game needs an update to increase drop rates by at least 5000%
It’s my understanding that the main source of drops is supposed to be from spell stealing! That’s probably why the drop rates are terrible. I was going into this game assuming it would be close enough to RF4… that being said, the Happy Ring and rare cans will be your friend if you’re relying on drops from killing the monsters.

That is actually wrong here, even in RF4 drops were rare, but rare cans, happy rings and clover(giant or not) all help immensly
to give an example(taken from reddit)
the final boss drops something(Nul symbol) at ~.2% of the time
with all of those combined it only on yourself goes to ~3.9%(or ~ 19X more effective)
with all villagers with items with those on, it goes to 18.8% or 94X better chance of getting the symbol(or 1 in 500 in game days, to about 1 in 6)
With certain drops, this makes them 100%, for example melody bottle, from siren goes from a 60% drop chance, to by yourself with those 3 items, it goes to 75%, with all party members it goes to 100%(in fact its actual drop rate at that point is 720/650 but going over 100% does nothing, so effectively 100%). From what people tested, spell seal doesn't get the bonus from those items. So by far the best way is 3 villagers with those items(btw the rare can needs to be forged on a weapon, and double/10 fold steeling them does nothing, and they dont stack, so no crafting it in base recipe then again in upgrading same with clover but that can be put into anything else iirc), also every item drop rolls separately, so its possible to get 2-4 drops at a time from monsters easily with this set up
