Superb singing by Sabri brothers , originally this singing is of our Gwalior Gharana ! Their grand father used to live in Gwalior , MP , India . Learned here in Gwalior it self. *Dr Ishwarchandra Karkare MBBS, MD, MA music A grade classical singer doordarshan.
Sir, it's an honour to have your comment here. If you know anything more about the grandfather of Sabri Brothers, please do let me know. I have tried to find out more about their roots but all I could gain was some info about their parents.

I am a big fan of Sabri brothers , a few years back they came to Gwalior MP, India, the place of program was near our house , I completed my hospital duty and attended the full program , they had sung rag bhupali and Tarana in bhupali in typical Gwalior style , that day He himself announced that my grand father lived here in Gwalior and learned Gwalior Gharana in 1940 - 1945 . / I learned classical vocal after my MD , from three stalwarts of Gwalior Gharana , Pandit Pandurang Rao , Pandit Gangadhar Bhagwat and Pandit Ramchandra Marathe , I came to know through them that grand Father of Sabri brothers used to live near our house in Chavadi bazar , Lashkar , He had learned classical vocal from the great mastero Pandit Krishnrao pandit . Pandit Krishnrao ji was Guru of my Guru Pandit Pandurang Rao Umdekar. In 1946 He ( grand father ) left Gwalior , went to Mumbai (Bombay ) , left Mumbai in 1948 for newly formed country named Pakistan.
@@ishwarchandraic9418 Sir, I am not related to the Sabri Brothers in any way. I am just a great fan from India(Andhra Pradesh). You can say that I am rather a young fan because I started listening to them from only about 5 yrs back when by chance I heard their Chhap Tilak Sab Chheeni Re on youtube. From then on it was a pleasant journey listening to their great works. I had heard that the Sabri Bros had roots in Gwalior and their lineage goes back to Tansen. Their father Inayat Hussain lived in Kaliana (now in Charkhi Dadri district of Haryana) but he used to spend time in Gwalior as well (may be because as you said his father(grandpa of sabri bros) lived in Gwalior). At a very young age Ghulam Farid Sabri's training was also initialized in Gwalior after paying respects at the tombs of Ghaus Mohammed and Tansen. Afterwards he was made to visit many great musicians of that time at Gwalior to take their blessings. So probably he took blessings from Pandit Krishnaraoji also there. Thank you for your info that their grandfather was a pupil of Pt Krishnaraoji and also about their residence in Lashkar. The program that you wrote about, was that in 1992? Do you have any audio/video recording of that program? I always felt that the performances of Sabri Brothers in India were of a much higher quality, may be because those were more classical oriented, whereas normally they tried to make it a little lighter in other places. I was able to hear some of their recordings of AIR which can be counted as among their best, but unfortunately except those few, not all those recordings of AIR are available to listen now for our present generation. Actually Baijubawara was the greatest singer those days , I have done research on History also for almost ten years . Baijubawara was in Gwalior for most of his life while tansen was in Agra . Baijubawara defeated tansen in 1576 at fatahpur sikari in music competition .
@@ishwarchandraic9418 Sir, I cannot add anything more here as I lack knowledge about the relative competency of Tansen and Baiju Bawra. But its a fact that many a great talented artists went unknown in history due to their circumstances and lack of exposure. Atleast we are aware of these two as they had favours of the royalty, but there could have been many more greats who never achieved the name or fame they deserved.
