When Crystal sings "don't it make my brown eyes blue," it brought back so many memories. I was a young kid when she was popular. I loved her, and my favorite memory is of my foster sister and me singing at the top of our lungs to "Talking in your sleep," while jumping on the couch at our foster home. "Talking In Your Sleep" was our favorite song, and "Don't it Make Our Brown Eyes Blue" was after that. I still remember most of the words to "Talking In Your Sleep". 🙂 I often wonder if my foster sister remembers that at all. I sure miss her! She was a lot of fun.
When we were little we used to like to watch the Country Music Awards just to see how long Crystal Gayle's has had gotten. We were only 8-10yr but for us in up northern Canada with no chance to see anyone live, it was pretty special.
I always loved her hair when I was a kid. I envied the length, since my hair wouldn't grow past a certain length. It still won't, but I no longer envy her hair. I had a friend with hair almost to her knees. She had headaches a lot and had to use a lot of shampoo when she washed it. Eventually she finally cut it to just past her shoulders. Kids never realize that one kid's treasure is another woman's trouble until they grow up. Lol 🙂

We can’t all be cookie-cutter-clones-copycats-“safe”/not daring…don’t spoil it for others, please..dare to let live..we are here as/to be ourselves. Bullying is just un-cool, & last I read, youtube does not encourage rudeness, ganging up.. your opinion wouldn’t gather a following like TH-cams on caring for longer hair, & also on “R E S P E C T” (TY, Ms. Franklin!). Amazing that.
I was named after Tammy Wynette and Loretta Lynn and have followed Loretta Lynn since the day of my birth. She has always pulled at my heartstrings! I just love her so! Her entire family unit has been through such tragedy they have overcome so much. My heart breaks for her Health crisis that she is in at this moment and my prayers are with her and her entire family. I got to see her perform and got the most amazing pictures of her about 13 years ago and I will treasure it always in my heart.

May you should just consider Loretta put her sisters "their foot into the door", and have a first recording contract with Decca. She probably helped them as she helped her daughters or granddaughter to be in the music business. She was the country queen in the 60s, don't think she shadowed at All Crystal as long as she quitted singing her song and music style (advice Loretta gave to Crystal saying we have one loretta we don't need an other) and established her very own music style.
