The mom didn't pass at the time the video was published. She was ill and unable to care for her baby. After she came back to health, she showed no interest in Hujan anymore, which is normal for orangutans. They need to move on. That's why Hujan had to be in close human care. He never lost touch with the group and is now at Monkey World living a normal life of a young orangutan with other animals of this species.

How is the new ape facility coming along since that terrible fire last year that killed little Hunan’s family? I think of this sweet baby and his caregiver often and hope they are safe and happy.
This baby was in UK before the fire started. Two chimpanzees survived and they were tried to be brought to join chimpanzee families in other zoos of the conservation breeding program but that was not possible, so their intermediate facility is now enlarged and they will be able to move to a new chimpanzee complex of the new building as soon as this is possible. Then, a new family will be built around them. The gorilla garden, which was not detroyed by the fire will be also enlarged and there will be a new orangutan installation as well.

She was reintroduced into the orangutan group at Krefeld Zoo after she got her life-saving medical treatment and showed she didn't want or was able to care for Hujan. Without the experts at the zoo, both wouldn't be alive today. At the moment, Hujan is in the process to become a part of the family group. He's doing great. 🙂
@@zoosmedia Thank you. So many babies orphaned by poachers, rainforest burning. It's comforting to know she and Mom are being cared for. Will you take steps to prepare her and Mom to go back to the wild where they all belong?
Fierce Facts : You're right - so many babies become orphaned in the wild and have to be taken in human care. Zoos share a lot of their experiences with the rescue organizations so they benefit from each other's experience. In addition, Zoo Krefeld is actively supporting a conservation and rescue organization which is mentioned in the video above. A reintroduction in the wild not possible at the moment before the habitat of orangutans ins fragmented more and more and bringing more animals in the wild means more animals on less space. Conservation wants the remaining wild animals to thrive and not to get more problems. First, the experts have to find a way to stop the fragmentation of the habitat and then the population has to be evaluated to see if reintroductions are necessary and sensible for the development of the wild populations. It would be really dumb to bring more and more orangutans in diminishing habitats.
@@fiercefacts7191 Of course they don't want these animals to go back into the wild. They want them captive and dependent so that they can keep making videos like these. It is disgusting how they exploit these animals and LIE about the circumstances.
The theft of that baby from its mother was all based on a lie. These fraudulent and selfish people look for ANY reason to take a baby from its mother. Stealing and hand raising babies provides them with almost endless video material to post here. It feeds their egos and lines their pockets with donations from unsuspecting people. The "lady" (if you want to call her one) really needs to stop stuffing her face and find meaningful employment.
I buy baby orangutans. How much $$$? I need some for my zoo I am starting. A few females and one male and in a few a years I will have about 75 of them, easily
We don't sell orangutans and it's always a wrong way to start breeding. If you really have a zoo, take part in proper managed conservation breeding. Also, you should know, even if you would have a group of one male with many females. Why? Mother orangutans care for their babies for a long time and aren't fertile in this period of time. So, reconsider your idea, get in touch with experts, and take part in conservation.
I don't mean this as a personal criticism as I'm sure this woman did a fine job with the baby - but I often wonder why, in situations like this where a caretaker has to hand rear an infant orangutan, why they don't adopt the simple policy of wearing a furry vest or something when they hold them. It would encourage the baby to use its muscles to naturally cling onto the fur, spending most of its time facing belly to belly hanging on, rather than the unnatural (for orang babies) position of being held like a human baby while instinct occasionally makes them flail their arms to find somewhere to hang on to. The reason it matters is because at some point the baby will be reintroduced to its own kind, and it will need to be able to hang on to whichever female orang becomes its surrogate. The way they cling is instinctual from birth, but its also a muscle memory that, if not used, they will lose to a great extent.
We don't mean this as a personal criticism but often wonder why people comment without having expertise about experts who have and claim the experts would do something wrong without obviously watching the video. Hujan got amazing opportunities to climb without a caretaker acting as an orangutan which would be a wrong thing to do because Hujan always had contact with real orangutans and with the group the whole time. You would know that if you just watched the whole video series we produced. This plan worked very well because he now lives with a group of orangutans in Great Britain and will soon be ready to have his own family. You don't have to school experts. Renowned experts in Krefeld and around the world were involved in this success.
It was all a big lie. These fraudulent and selfish people look for ANY reason to take a baby from its mother. Stealing and hand raising babies provides them with almost endless video material to post here. It feeds their egos and lines their pockets with donations from unsuspecting people.
It’s too bad that the governments do not ban the usage of palm oil in food ingredients. They need to take responsible ownership of what they are contributing to the destruction of our eco system and habitats. I believe most human beings want to do something about it actively. It’s difficult for middle class and poor people to donate to these causes, but they just don’t know what else they can do. If anyone is reading my comment please take an interest in reading the ingredients of the food, cosmetics and hygiene products that you purchase at the supermarket. If it does contain palm oil don’t buy it buy a different brand. If everybody actively banned the purchasing of a brand name product who uses palm oil, the CEOs would start noticing the fall of their products. Therefore, it would deter them them from using palm oil. It . would greatly minimize the destruction of the orangutang habitation and many other species❣️🇨🇦
Well, is a ban a solution? It doesn't really help, because the palm oil problem has to be solved, where it is farmed. There are a lot of people, which are able to finance their lives because they work in this business. So a ban would harm especially the people working there and being in the "poor and middle class". Which solution is more sensible? Supporting sustainable palm oil farming, because the people can keep their jobs AND the orangutans are protected. That's why modern zoos and aquariums support sustainable palm oil farming. Of course, it makes sense to try to avoid palm oil when you buy products, but it would be not a sensible move by the governments to simply ban it. Conservation needs the local people, too, so if you go in an in situ project and just demand bans, no one will listen to you, because it would destroy the lives of whole families. A ban never solved a problem. We have to cooperate with the local people and find solutions for them because they share their habitat with the orangutans. Longterm advocating for sustainable palm oil is the better solution - for the local people, orangutans and the environment they share. So we have to differentiate between what is sensible for us to do (try to avoid palm oil, as you correctly say) and what is sensible for the government to do. We can just come and demand a destruction of a business, we have to offer alternatives, so that the local society also doesn't suffer, because they are in the field and should hat orangutans because their existence destroyed their life. So, it's far more complicated.
@@zoosmediaI am sorry,l can not inglish, I write like orang utan, in Chinese language is "Hong mao xing xing" I mean u are lucky people, I want to hug too.. Good luck
Watching the baby doing something rather than just being held and looking cute would be preferable to sitting and listening to tons-of-fun rambling on about palm oil!!.. Avoidance of anything palm oil is important but perhaps another medium would be preferable!!!
Well, connecting animals with conservation motivation is important in modern Zoos and Aquariums. Hujan is an amazing ambassador, who inspires a lot of people to take part in orangutan conservation.
This is wrong. First of all, there are not "babies", there is just one baby orangutan. If he would be in the wild, he and his mother would both be dead. His mother would have never survived the illness which was the reason why she could care for him and Hunjan would be dead because her mother wasn't able to care for him. You could have watched the video to know all this but your comment just shows your ignorance. So, it was pretty ridiculous that you felt qualified to comment here. If you would have been responsible for these two amazing animals they would have been dead know as your comment shows. Luckily, both were in the care of professionals and experts really caring about the welfare of orangutans.
Exactly, and the liar in the video along with the liar who created this video are doing all they can to protect their source of income. They keep these poor animals in horrible conditions and keep breeding more because they know more babies means more money and attention for their dreadful, disgusting, unsanitary and cruel "zoo"!
@@zoosmedia Whether it was one baby or more the fact is that this disgusting "zoo" you are defending is only exploiting the animal. I hope the zoo keepers & the lady is paid well... this is one demanding job!
Allot of people would pay them to have that job.

😍
Dounia Btb 😍 Thank you ❤

ORANG UTAN HAVE IN BORNEO, INDONESIA
I buy baby orangutans. How much $$$? I need some for my zoo I am starting. A few females and one male and in a few a years I will have about 75 of them, easily
We don't sell orangutans and it's always a wrong way to start breeding. If you really have a zoo, take part in proper managed conservation breeding. Also, you should know, even if you would have a group of one male with many females. Why? Mother orangutans care for their babies for a long time and aren't fertile in this period of time. So, reconsider your idea, get in touch with experts, and take part in conservation.
Lovely sweetie baby
Yes, Hujan is really adorable ❤
I heard people eat these things?? I think thats crazy.
People must eat too. Apple in the mouth like a roasted piglet! Mmmmmm!
WHAT DID THE MOTHER BECOME "DISEASED' WITH WHEN SHE IS IN A ZOO FOR GOD'S SAKE!!!
Well, also in zoos, animals can get diseases.
It was all a big lie. These fraudulent and selfish people look for ANY reason to take a baby from its mother. Stealing and hand raising babies provides them with almost endless video material to post here. It feeds their egos and lines their pockets with donations from unsuspecting people.
How is this sweet baby today? I hope he is well. He is so lovely 🥰
He is well 🤗👍😊
It’s too bad that the governments do not ban the usage of palm oil in food ingredients. They need to take responsible ownership of what they are contributing to the destruction of our eco system and habitats.
I believe most human beings want to do something about it actively. It’s difficult for middle class and poor people to donate to these causes, but they just don’t know what else they can do. If anyone is reading
my comment please take an interest in reading the ingredients of the food, cosmetics and hygiene products that you purchase at the supermarket.

Thank you 🙂
So weak , it can't hold it's head up ?
Well, imagine the anatomic features of a small orangutan: their head is really heavy - so they can struggle sometimes and it's normal not weakness 😊
PALM OIL.. :((
Unsustainable palm oil is a huge problem.
The babies look totally miserable and very unhappy. They would be cuddled by their mother if they were still in the wild.
What is more ridiculous is your endless lies that you are spewing to defend your cruel and criminal activity! You and the fat slob in the video are no more qualified to care for these animals than a poacher is and you are too ignorant to realize how dense you are!
