This is really help in our interview, because interviewer should ask Crisis management..... I have listen to u first time, really this is very helpful for me while I'm facing interview....
I know this is a old video but it is awesome! I became interested in this because a famous youtuber I like is facing allegations. With millions of followers they still aren't handling it good enough.
Thank you Melisa! This is the 2nd time I've listened to your talk. It's so so good & inspiring. My Crisis Management course was creating a depressing tone in my world, but your enthusiasm, optimism & most importantly, leadership has given me motivation & a new perspective.
I'm so sorry that your course brought a depressing tone in your world, Michael. There is so much opportunity in being crisis ready, on so many levels, and I'm very glad to hear that this TEDx Talk helped bring you that perspective. It's not something to be afraid of, but rather something to get ahead of and use as a way to connect deeply with the humans that enable an organization to exist and thrive. If ever I can answer any questions or guide you to any other materials, please reach out.
Awesome! Melissa... I have extreme passion for Crisis management and communications and this being your center of focus, I would love to make a follow-up on your other presentations and discussions on (CM). Blessings
Hi Kajubi, I'm glad you enjoyed this presentation of mine. Feel free to browse my many other videos at your leisure. They're all on my TH-cam page: th-cam.com/channels/q836OeNjJIwsKtNOhiX4xw.html. Best wishes, Melissa
Melissa, thanks so much for the gold mine of valuable information in this video and on your website. I am a worship pastor working on my doctoral degree and am currently taking a class on pastor care in grief, loss, and trauma. I have been tasked with writing a first hours action plan for my geographical area (Florida...hurricanes). Would your crisis ready model translate to this sort of endeavor, or would you suggest something else?
Hi there! Thanks for the kind words. I'm glad to hear this TEDx Talk served you. In response to your question, absolutely! The Crisis Ready Model is designed to serve this type of initiative (amongst others) and the book, "Crisis Ready: Building an Invincible Brand in an Uncertain World" will give you the roadmap and answers you're looking for. Let me know if you have any questions along the way, I'm always happy to help. Best wishes in this important mission of yours! Melissa
@@MelissaAgnes Thanks for your quick reply. I forgot that I was messaging on our church account. My name is Christopher Garrison, btw. Uncertain world perfectly describes our society today. I think your model easily translates into a hurricane preparedness model and beyond for non-profit organizations as well as for corporate and public safety applications. Thanks again.

You're absolutely right and the book is designed to support you through the entire process... plus, myself and the Crisis Ready Community (crisisreadycommunity.com) are here to support you, if ever that would be of help to you.
Really great talk! Thank you for that! I am particular impressed about all the good examples you gave, especially the one with WhatsApp for the Ebola Crisis! Very interesting!
Good talk. West Africa comprises of many countries; some of which did not experience the Ebola crisis. Might help to narrow down to the specific countries in your BBC anecdote.
Hi +Rose Wangechi, you're right that not all west African countries experienced the Ebola crisis. I'll aim to be more specific in the future. Though the point of the story is to share a brilliant proactive strategy for effect crisis comms. I hope that message wasn't lost in the lack of explicit detail. Thanks for weighing in!
Dear Melissa,Thank you so much for the interesting TED talk! You mention the train accident at the beginning. Do you have more information about it like which train company, year etc. I am writing an essay about crisis management in the 21st century and would like to refer to that example. Your help would be really much appreciated! Many thanks, Chris
Hi +Chris Pantke, thanks for the kind words and feedback. Unfortunately, I cannot divulge any further information regarding the train and the situation, as it is a client of mine. If I could have said more, I would have in the TEDx - though even though I was a little restricted, I still thought it was a relatable story that would reach people the way I wanted it to. Sorry I can't be of further help. Good luck with your article!
Hey Chris, how does it feel to sell your soul? ahh, i see you were never even awake enough to realize what you were doing, enjoy life as a slave, chasing the reward on a string
Could you do a video on cancel culture? And how it has influenced your work? After I saw the Carson charity being canceled and shut down. I really felt like this was the beginning of something horrible. Is it manageable with planning? Or are the risks so random it isn't?
The risks aren't random. They're entirely foreseeable. You're not the first person to bring this up so yes, absolutely, I will do a video on this in the coming days. Stay tuned. (And I encourage you to subscribe so you don't miss it ;) )
Thanks, +Arik Ingber! The train accident is priviledged information, which is why I only discussed it at a very high-level and did not mention names. Sorry I can't be of more help in that regard.
