- This is getting ridiculous now.
I've only got 4 CeX stores within 1 hour of my house. 2 of them have been blackballed by myself after I've witnessed them being incredibly dodgy, but the other 2 have been great.
Until today.
I'd just like to give a massive thank you to all the CeX bum sniffers that started leaving negative comments and trying to downvote the video when I first uploaded it.
Your generous efforts in letting the algorithm notice that the video was creating traction and interaction was vital in pushing this out to lots of people that would otherwise have not seen it, and allowing them to like it, share it, and leave their own horror stories in the comments.
I couldn't do this without you x
I think they do reprinted covers as people steal the original boxes from the shop.......
@MrFrog_ That rarely happens, and it's usually because they want an inlay to replace the reprinted inlay they were fobbed off with ages ago.
I know of several CeX stores that buy loose discs or salvage them from consoles they buy, print out an inlay, and then sell it at full price.
You owe them a debt of gratitude.

I don't think that's entirely fair. People have different experiences and can only speak from personal experience.
When I sold my steam deck they gave me about what I paid for it when I got it brand new.
I've also bought boxed DS games and GBA cartridges for a fraction of the price they've been selling for on eBay.
Their switch trade in prices suck and 2nd hand switch games basically cost more than getting them brand new online, but from my experience, over the years, I've never had any issues.
Your local store probably just sucks.
CEX are happy to sell games that are scratched up and covered in finger marks. But when I take a disc in with just a basic small scratch or mark I have been refused a sale
@CraigSteelyard it's the double standards that annoys me the most.
The amount of times that has happened to me! I tried to trade in a ps2 game that had a laser ring on it and it was sold to me like that from CeX. And they were like, you should've returned it when I first bought it. That's neither here or there though.
@Wrathchild1995 I once bought a game, walked outside the shop, saw the disc had disc rot, tried to chat to the guy who sold it me, got told to rejoin the queue, silently raged for 20 minutes until I got to see the same guy and then had him tell me that CeX wouldn't sell a game in that condition.
I refused to leave until they gave me my money back.
I took a steam deck to a CEX near me, It had a screen protector on it since day 1 and been in a case when not in use. The screen was immaculate and there wasn't a scratch anywhere on the handheld and they offered me the discounted rate and couldn't give me a reason why they classed it as discounted. It was like £30 of a difference!

I had that with a a ps1 game said it had a scratch and I couldn’t see one on it…… bet they sold it for wayyy more then I got back traded in for it
Haven't used CeX for over 20 years. They were dodgy then, and they are dodgy now.
I wish I had options, but it seems loads of places are dodgy nowadays. Even Ebay is full of scammers.
I had a great shop near me growing up called Virtual Games. It was honest, gave good prices and was professional. Unfortunately because of that, all their shops closed down. If they had been scamming like CEX they'd still be going

Went into CEX to ask if they would buy my PS5 that wasn't reading discs, I was told no because they don't repair consoles so if I wanted to sell it to them I would have to get it repaired first. Went back a few weeks later just to ask if they could reair my PS5, spoke to a different person and was told yes we can repair that for you and gave me a quote of £99 to get the disc drive sorted.

Every time I watch a video like this I become more grateful for my CEX stores, I have 3 stores locally and I’ve never had much of a problem and on the times I have the staff have always been amazing
I have 4 local(ish) ones, and 2 were great, but 2 were absolutely awful.
Now, I don't think I can trust 1 of the 'great' stores.
It's becoming a nightmare.
Whenever I go into Cex I always get the feeling that I wish I had more money than I have because when I over hear people getting low balled stuff for complete collections of games I just feel sad and depressed for them because even though I recently lost my job I would value the stuff more and would be more interested in giving them a better offer for what I could afford because I appreciate more than cex that someone has accrued that collection
@@darrenpickard6518 gutted to hear that you've lost your job, but fair play to you. I've genuinely done what you stated once (they were trying to rip off a woman who was clearly struggling financially), so they decided to tell me it was illegal to buy something from someone in their store 😂😂😂
I told them to get f'd, bought her items at a fair price, and then took the stuff I was going to trade to another shop.
My pet pieve with Cex is :
Condition of their stock can be absolutely disgusting like if you travel such a distance because there is a rare game or one you're after it definitely is like a well f*ck experience when you see it's literally in a beyond salvageable condition like torn or buggered to hell with scratches.
The last 3 is cex not moving around stock as often between shops so certain shops become more hit or miss if you are a certain collector.
Lastly staff not being able to find stock that is on their system and says it's in their store but they are to chill to investigate it with the level of enthusiasm you would expect and lastly them reserving games that are still on the system to be sold and you non the wiser until you go all the way there to purchase it

The quality of CEX is so wild, ive been into some that are amazing and others that are shocking. Anything rare goes straight to ebay or private selling.

They always turn away my most expensive rare games even though the website says they take it. Of course they don't want to give me anymore than £30 for a single game
It may be that your game has been within 300M of a sticker. Voids the warranty and makes the game unplayable, that does.
@donaldmackerel lmao, the woman was weird and snotty, saying the game wasn't up for sale on their computers, even after I showed her my phone saying it does (not a screenshot btw but actually using the cex website live) she said well our store isn't accepting it! Maybe because it was a little Gameboy cartridge worth a fortune she wouldn't take it. I was hesitant about selling it anyway, so kinda glad I kept it instead of letting it go to them anyway. I'll only sell it to someone who genuinely wants it now because knowing it's going to be treasured and not discarded makes me feel better about parting with stuff.
I do love your choices in games, we have extremely similar tastes.

CeX can be scummy sometimes but I DID work there so I can answer some of your questions for you.
- No, They can’t take reprinted covers UNLESS they are company done ones. I think it’s for trading standard reasons. They have to specify in the corner if it’s reprinted or not. And they have them due to people stealing the cases.
- The DS thing (if true) is a scummy move from the employee as they knew what they were getting their hands on. You are right there. Staff don’t always know every little thing at CeX as there is ALOT to know. I knew nothing about Laptops or VR headsets, Camera’s, Hair Tech.
Also wanted to add the W/ & W/out manual for your 360 game. That was also stupid, they should have bought it in as w/manual even if it had them stickers, especially as it wasn’t a near around £100 game
What really disappointed me is that the staff member in question is incredibly knowledgeable about Nintendo handhelds, as we always chat about their collection. They and other staff have also taken in games with mullered covers and quite openly stated that they're allowed to print new covers, but have also rejected CeX reprints (with their reprint label in the corner).
I also know of several CeX stores that take loose discs and offer their own lowball prices, then just reprinted covers.
I don't think it should be on the customer to diminish the value of their personal collection because of these tactics, and even if it was due to thieves, each store is insured, so they could just claim for damaged / missing stock, as per their shortages protocol.
If they really wanted to keep the disc and sell it, then it should be at a heavily reduced, disc only price. Also, it wouldn't take much to offer with / without manual prices for both buying and selling, like most decent indie stores.
@ Yeah. I am a collector but aint a fan of the reprinted covers either. But its company policy to do them, not up to us, its the higher ups.

Also I worked for a Corp store and not franchise and I go to the local franchise and they take any old tosh i take in no matter the condition. Idk some staff don’t care and some do. I did anyways, cleaned the discs, swapped cases, talked about games & movies.
Also taking in loose games isn’t a thing they should be doing also. Very strange what some stores get up to.
@James050 I really do think that franchising stores out is the worst idea they ever had. It brings the company name into disrepute with some of the antics that go on.
As far as I know it's a technicality. They are not supposed to buy them to sell on if the game has a reprint. But they can reprint their own covers to fix damaged, or replace stolen, inventory.
That's what was said a long time ago the last time I asked and was curious anyway. I agree it's a bit silly, but in the end the people working there have to do as they are told it's not really their fault.
@wyterabitt2149 true, but that doesn't excuse the blatant fraud that the staff member admitted to committing, right in front of me and their manager (who laughed). That instantly tells me that it's not just someone being ordered - that's their mentality.

what pissed me off, is that I sold an older corsair gaming headset to cex for £19, couple days later, they rang me and said they couldn't sell it because they found a hardly noticeable scratch on it, so I said fuck it, just get rid of it. This was the cex in Milton Keynes near where I live 😩

That story regarding the discounted DS is disgusting. CeX are so hit and miss in pretty much every category and its a shame because there are some genuine staff out there who get a bad rep from it
@Mountain_DewdX7 100% I get on with loads of CeX staff, and the ones at my Shrewsbury branch are really friendly and knowledgeable.
It's not just them, though. I'm getting so disheartened with the number of scammers on Vinted, Ebay, and Marketplace. My indies are getting worse, too. Gaming used to be for geeks and solely populated and run by people who cared. Now it's been infested with leeches that are just out to cream a few quid off people, and that goes all the way up to the people making the games and consoles.
I feel like a moaning, old git, but I honestly feel sad with the state of the scene today.
@@donaldmackerel- yeah I totally get you. Ha, you sure do have a lot of bad luck on vinted, don't personally use it. That's for sure, a lot of greed just corrupts people these days. Hell knows what the picture will look like in 20 years 😅 maybe they will try to ditch downloads for streaming only.

That is dybologally vindictive and scummy to scam someone out of something extremely rare by telling people it's something else when it's not, well karma is a bitch as people say horrible people will get karma eventually.

My local store is great, but yeah some others are awful. I would personally prefer they did away with all reprinted covers. One problem with allowing trades of reprints is that home reprints, although they could be better, won't have the reprint logo in the corner. So greater chance of people buying them unaware.
But I appreciate that isn't the reason they gave to you. If all they said is that they don't do reprints, that's just wrong and hypocritical
That's what irked me the most. I saw loads on their shelves and have even been told by staff that they still re-print covers, so to outright lie to my face in spite of all the evidence, THEN SELL ME A GAME WITH A BLOODY RE-PRINTED COVER...
You need to name these bad stores, it's a community service lol
@Darren_Retro the one that tried to rob me was Telford (over a year ago, before I started all this guff), but I can't call the other store out without proof.
I got done by Bournemouth ages ago so will never go there. It's always quiet so I think lots of people have. Poole isn't bad. Best one by me is Castlepoint
The worst part of cex is the franchise aspect. Theres no real management to talk to and the amount of issues that ive had are also pretty bad.
Ive plenty of issues, from bad products to waiting an hour in store for a refund to be processed. Theyre not the shining company many lead others to believe. This is why i film every single aspect of the games i buy, to show others the truth of buying from them

There practice is a shambles I've had problems with them in the past with games where they sold me a game and I've realised it's the wrong game so I've took it back and they said it's nothing to do with them now you took it away from the store now so practically have to lump it 😢

That is just beyond out of order with them trying to swap your Wii mote hoping you won't notice. You really should of threatened to call the police on the spot. Me being me I literally would have walked behind the counter and retrieved it. Plus me being the size of a standing bear they'd be crazy trying to stop me. I don't put up with situations like that..

The CEX near me (Bury) is epic. I love the guys there & im friends with the Manager.
There's some good ones out there, but sadly, I can't condone what I saw in one of my (ex) favourite ones.
That's near me that's a great store bought tons off them in the past and sold a few games to them no problem plus they seem to have more in stock that the Bolton store

They recently sold me a reprint with no manual through their online potral. A copy of agarest generations of war zero. Arrived with damaged box, no manual and re printed cover. Cost me a fiver to go to the store to take it back only to get a voucher. Found a collectors edition mint in box cheaper on ebay. Jokes mate.

Traded in some games online recently. Had no issues in the past and they took 9 out of my ten games in this order but this time they had the audacity to tell me one of the covers was missing on a ps5 game, which I knew had it and was practically pristine. Yes, it was a sports title worth a fiver but it took an email to get a voucher from them for this.
@@XiosSabre If you snoop online, there are lots of horror stories about things going 'missing' or damaged items being sent back that were sent out in pristine condition.
Its technically illegal to reprint gamecovers. Cex are not the copyright owners and dout very much they have permission from the owners
They should be sold as disc only.
Cex refusing to pay the manual price for games that have stickers on the manual is absolutely mental. Everything they sell has stickers on them. The resident evil 4 cover is good quality, they probably knew it was a reprinted cover because you might of forgotten to print the inside artwork /warranty information.
The exposure of the cover is just right, not to dark or oversaturated. I use 140gsm double sided glossy photo paper, and use windows photos to adjust the image before printing covers. A piece of advise, only take in poor condition items into cex, if they don't want them, don't sell them anything else, that will teach them a lesson for cherry picking only the good condition items out of you're collection. 😂

The AC Revelations includes AC1 on the disc, it's not a download code! That's how I played it back in 2013.

@donaldmackerel No worries. You install the game from the disc to the hard drive so it loads quicker than the original disc version too so is the best version to have on ps3. Still can't believe theres no remaster for ps4/5
I cant stand this shop! I've been in a couple of times selling 14 games ps4 & ps5 & they wanted to give me 35p for all of them 😂 I laughed at the guys face & left the shop.

Reprinted covers should mean a £5er minimum discounted off the game if it is an expensive one. Cheap game? Maybe a £1 or something. If the game is literally a £1, then it's not worth worrying about i guess

@@DazDaz105 I don't mind dodgy stuff if the price reflects it, and I also don't expect 30 year old guff to be immaculate... but when you have fairly new games on your shelves in smashed cases with reprinted covers, no manuals, and a disc that feels like Simon Weston's face... it's bloody cheeky to ask full price for it and then nit-pick over what you're buying in.

There's only 1 CEX near me, fortunately it is a good one.

The mistake you made with the wii remote is you left the cex store, which gave them the option to switch you're wii remote with a fake one.
A similar thing happened with gaming grandad, he dropped off a load of ps2 games, and cex tried to say half of the games didn't have discs. Show them they every single disc is in the box. and also take photos of everything you are selling to cex. So if it comes back in a different condition or switch it for a different item. You can sue them.

Buy in items as lower grades
Buy in items as a cheaper model.
Damage items then claim it has a different fault.
Not pay you for some of you're items example : gta 5 £0.00 on receipt.
Switch you're working item with their broken one.
Steal parts out of you're item. Example steal you cpu, ram and gpu and ssd, from the pc you're tried selling to them.

CeX really need a better online ordering system, or at the very least grade everything they sell. I send back probably 80% of my online orders because of the condition.

@EdGreenall there must be a catch, like when pubs are run by breweries and they have ridiculous targets.
My sister looked at phones, they had multiple marked as 'A' grade that had replacement screens fitted and scratches all down the metal side, to me thats not 'A' grade. To me 'A' grade should be something that looks like it came out of a brand new box, grading is subjective and the stores are clearly using it to up prices on lower condition items.

On all the games in the booklet it says this.This booklet and other printed materials accompanying this game are protected by domestic and international intellectual property laws..like everything we own weather it be a game...a cd..or a movie none of us own the rights including cex..it's either owned by ubisoft or Warner bros or universal or whatever do their breaking copyright infringement..
Cex is under investigation by trading standards...this is what it says on an article I found...CEX does not own the artwork that it is reproducing and therefore does not have the right to reproduce it. The artwork is subject to copyright law and the logos subject to trademark law. It is for this reason that CEX is currently under investigation for breach of the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Standards - based on a report gathered earlier this year.
@@stevenmoules4955 is this from 2025? I know they got in a lot of trouble a year or so ago, then tried to skirt the law by adding the "REPRINTED COVER" triangle.
sound like bad staff, the one by me are great (walsall) never tried this with me at least. You should report this to CEX, these staff need sacking!

Great video. Terrible service. I know they are a business and have to make money but I'd only trade there if I desperately needed money quickly. The markup on items you trade in is over double and they seem to sell items that they would refuse if you tried trading them.
I don't shop there and it's probably because of them there are no games stores to choose from as CEX has got bigger.
I buy games on sale online and often new to ensure the condition is good as it seems like it goes wrong a lot of the time with broken cases, scratches on the game and incomplete boxes using CEX and Vinted.

@@lostlaserdroid2000 cheers, matey! I'm slowly running out of options and fully agree with you. The second-hand (or probably 12th hand, realistically) market is in awful shape at the moment due to terrible shops and resellers.
If this is true then this should be reported as fraud.
It's moments like this that I wish I had a lapel camera.
I remember cex refusing my game once because it was In a different colour case and there aloud to sell reprinted cover games haha I also bought a game years ago got home and it had a burn ring on the disc

I brought a samsung tablet a few years back from CEX, had it for roughly two years and started to notice the battery would drain very fast, decided to trade it back to them, (same shop brought it from) went in found a newer larger tablet said I wanted to do part trade part pay, they said they needed to test my tablet so left it with them walked around for and hour, went back, got the typical can't take it battery is bad, I said well I got it from you so many years ago so you must have sold me a bad one look it up its on my account, they then panicked said no no thats fine we will take it, so they did the deal and I went on my merry way.
I bought a game from one store, realised I'd double-dipped, so I thought the fairest thing to do would be to trade it in when I went to a different one the following day.
They refused it as the disc was too scratched, so I showed them the receipt, saying that I bought it from a different CeX the previous day. They still refused it, so I returned it under their 48-hour 'no quibbles' guarantee and demanded the refund in cash 😀
They were very grumpy with that one.

I quite gladly snapped up a quasi-mangled steely the other day, but only because it was cheap and I'm mental.
Covers are sometimes reprinted as people steal the original artwork, in that case it should be discounted and sold as 'disc only' in store. I dont think CEX should accept reprinted covers from tradeins, i dont want to buy fake reprinted covers so glad they are rejecting these. Stickers on manuals would also reduce desireability from collectors, very hit or miss if they can be removed without damage (Even with sticker remover), i avoid if i see them. Some stores just have better QA then others, my local store is trash for QA yet one 25miles away is pretty good, its because its franchised i suspect.
@SecretOfMonkeyIsland784 I agree with you on not wanting re-prints. I simply took them there because they sell reprints, so should accept them. I also don't buy the "people steal the boxes" lie, as the ex manager told me that they would find "freebies" in consoles or other cases etc, or just re-print covers if someone came in with a valuable disc, then offer them a nominal amount for it before whacking it on their shelves at full price.
I just think different items require different prices, and if they did that, then a lot fewer people would have a right to gripe at them.
CeX upped the price of pepper grinder! Originally new at £26 at GAME but CeX sold it for £35. Extremely greedy but unfortunately it’s worked because they know they can get away with it due to trading.
Compared with hollow knight though it’s a £5 difference not £10!
They set the market value and I think it's probably too late to change that now.
@@donaldmackerel it is yeah but the fact they can do that is a pain especially possibly with retro games with manuals. I have pepper grinder but no one should be paying the price second hand. It’s slightly cheaper on eBay still.
@@MyBookssonicmario8998 there was a point where you could buy a new copy of FIFA 24 in Game, then take it over the road to CeX, unwrap it, then trade it in for an extra quid on a voucher.
@ i think I’ve seen TVM do that. Others have too I’m sure. GAME never has new games except AAA or few indie in stores now.
Actually I’d say game in store is worse because you pay brand new price for second hand games. Secretly because they’re pre owned. Look at the barcode. I only bought a few games because it was Christmas.
People would rather buy a game with a high quality reprinted cover, than cex low quality knockoff shit. I've bought games with reprinted covers, and the artwork wasn't cut right, and the colors were too dark. They obviously don't know how to add exposure to an image.

I recently took in saints row v notorious edition on xbox.
They sell it for £50 & there's none in stock.
They rejected it because it didn't have the dlc season pass...even though it's says no their app sold without dlc.
I pointed this out to the staff member but he point blank refused to take it.
Two weeks before I traded mafia 3 collectors edition ps4 again with on season pass dlc...& they accepted it no problem.
So what is it CEX...do you accept collectors editions without dlc or not😂😂😂
It's insane, as there seems to be no real rules towards what is or isn't acceptable.

I think it's will starts listing my collection on Vinted soon as the missus has told me to downsize it because it now takes up a whole room in the house.

Playing devils advocate for a second. How would you feel if you bought a game from CEX got it home and you realised it had a reprinted cover but wasn't stated on the cover itself? The ones in CEX at least tell you it's a reprint. - Please don't think this is a dig at you as it's not your reprint looked spot on. I'm just presuming that's why they wont take them as they will probably get them returned.
Nah, you're spot on with that comment. My issue is that they stated that they couldn't accept reprinted covers, refused to answer the question about the fact that they sell reprinted covers, sold me one after making such a big deal about it and then blatantly admitted to fraud in front of me, whilst laughing at the fact that they had knowingly ripped someone off.

Oh I know what they are like……I’ve bought scratched up games and they would try to not refund they just tryed it in their disc clean machine…..managed to get refund on wii u game but a game that was on ps2 that did work wouldn’t give me trade in on it……and guardians of galaxy game on ps4 I bought from them and when I went to trade it in I swear he was wiggling his body back and forth like he was scratching it up and sure enough it had a scratch when he turned around and said can’t take it cos of the scratch that wasn’t there before…….done with them they are bad company…..

Each CEX is either a hit or miss mostly cause of the staff that run it. Some are great others are just right terrible. Pfft
The sad bit is that this used to be one I trusted. Now, it's on the list of places that I'll only go to out of curiosity.
@@donaldmackerel I would use a little mark on each item, something that will 100% distinguish if they try to return an item it would be yours for sure, could be somethine suttle like a small pen mark or a little sticker, either way i would for sure have something to identify and not try to rip you off. luckily you spotted them trying it.
@Bird-Birdy-Love when I used to sell on eBay, I would mark inside of cases etc with a UV pen. I never thought I'd need to with CeX though, as I just trusted them as they were a nationwide shop.

To be fair, its not the buisness that is the problem, it is the people they hire. I know quite a few resellers have been working with cex and trying to rip off customers just so they can grabe the good stuff pay less and sell more online. you have to be more careful these days, scammers are everywhere like a virus that spreads.

@@MrFrog_ That rarely happens, and it's usually because they want an inlay to replace the reprinted inlay they were fobbed off with ages ago.
I know of several CeX stores that but loose discs or salvage them from consoles they buy, print out an inlay, and then sell it at full price.
u can get rotyal mail to pick up retruns for CEX donald thats what i did for time crisis 4 royal come the next with label and take it away back for some other mug to buy and be disapointed lol

The 'indies' (junk shops) near me have similar quality games and also stock fakes. You get worse sale and trade-in prices to boot.
Vinted and Ebay are unreliable at best. They've been infested with reseller scum.
Sadly, CeX is the only real option for a lot of people.

Not a fan of CEX, but the reprinted covers is understandable. They took a lot of shit and I'm sure Nintendo actually got involved for copyright infringement, so they had no choice but to add "reprinted cover" to the box art and lower the quality. They used to be high quality and hard to tell the difference. But TH-camrs got involved and put the pressure on for something to be done about it. I wouldn't want to buy a reprinted cover for my collection whether it's CEX's or yours (even though your seem to look as high quality). They do except their own reprinted covers though. They only reprint covers usually when cases get stolen, which is understandable and I know we all think they should be selling them at a discounted price but I also understand, as a business they need to protect their investment. As a game collector I too would probably buy high value goods if they have to go through at discounted and refurb myself and make a profit, especially if i was getting staff discount too. It's what a lot of us collectors/resellers would do. When something goes through their system as a certain quality, they do sell it at that quality, the labels print out straight away. But Switching / stealing / lying is definitely bang out of order and the member of staff should be fired. Definitely one to remember, think I might have to take photos when they open it to check what's inside to protect myself in future
@barrygeraghty1658 Yeah, I'd hate to buy a reprinted cover, but to me, they should be disc only sales. Also, every store is insured, so I don't buy the fact that reckon it's down to stolen cases. It's because they sell loose discs found in consoles (or that some stores just outright buy loose discs for pennies) and will reprint covers to maximise profits.
The nearest indie to me (over an hour away) will sell reprints at a cheaper rate than his regular games, the same as without manuals and lightly scratched discs. He'll also do bundle deals, so is a great place to buy from.
Sadly, CeX have cornered the market with their voucher scheme, where they would buy a dead dog in a jar for a few quid, but make you spend that money back in their store.
If people are trading in rubbish, then all that they have to buy will be rubbish.
@donaldmackerel I agree they should be sold as loose discs, same as carts on retro platforms are sold as loose carts. But insurance would cover the game disc, not the case, the case is classed as protection. CEX would have to send the game discs to the insurer, "possibly" be bought back on the cheap, but more than likely get destroyed. Every time I've traded in consoles and left games in them, they have always handed them back to me. True they have cornered the market, but without their pricing structure games would probably be more expensive on ebay and vinted, have you seen some of the prices for 'out of stock' games

Also, you'll take one in, get a horrendous trade value, then they'll list it at brand new, inflated prices. It's just a scam.
I also don't believe for 1 second that people are stealing all these cases - they have £2 games with reprinted covers - or than they can't claim on insurance for lost or damaged stock. I was a storage manager for a large supermarket and we would waste loads of damaged / missing stock. You just had to record what had an issue and then claim for it.
@donaldmackerel I know it's not just from theft. Twice I've went to buy games (midnight club remix and Maximo Army of zin) and they've had the previous game in them and they've asked if I still want them, they can print the correct covers for them. The trade value was put in place to compete with GAME, make it look like you got more, but preowned is more expensive. Totally agree newer preowned game prices are ridiculous, at least GAME knocked off £5-10, but we all use CEX now as the benchmark for game prices. As for reprinted covers, either keep the game in circulation or destroy it. Insurance would write it off, then it has to show its gone from their system. Does make me wonder though why some games are kept behind, not for sale🤔. I'm not saying CEX is squeaky clean, probably far from it. They may not want to go the insurance route because they don't want to increase their premiums with constant claims at low values or they might get penny's on the pound for the claim, only they know their policy. In an ideal world, they would list "reprinted covers" and / or sell them at a reduced price like cartridges, give the consumer a choice. But I do understand why they don't from a business perspective

I use CeX a lot and I find generally they’re absolutely brilliant and if there’s a problem it is almost always resolvable!
@@JimBob-vg2og I guarantee that I use them a lot more across a far broader scope, and they're bloody awful as a whole. There's good stores, but franchising the name out means their reputation is in the bin.
Also, just check the comments on this video. Multiple people have had CeX attempt to scam them and then try to act the victim.
