There was also, largely based in the New Forest, in our country the B-25 Mitchells , B-26 Martin Marauders ,P47 Thunderbolts, P51 Mustangs amongst others from our American friends across the pond.Perhaps in the future we should do a vid solely for the Yanks and their aircraft. The P38 was an exceptional powerful fighter once they got the final design upgrades bolted down and it did a lot to weaken the defences on D-Day.The FONFA museum in Bransgore New Forest has some great "Gen" (general information ) and exhibits on the USAAF aswell as the RAF who flew many many ops out of the New Forest .Well worth a visit, we learnt a lot from them nice people and that led to us creating unique vids that can only be seen at their museum too !
