Jet Lag is similar to Top Gear/The Grand Tour. Watching three blokes who are friends, but with occasional competitive friction, messing about in exotic overseas locations.
They definitely have the chemistry working as did the top gear/grand tour trio. They can be friendly, competitive, annoying, funny, cross but always interesting. Ben is in many respects very like James May, and rather unique he holds the show together.
@@mr.gorillaz8449 I wouldn't say they are ordinary. I worked for a big TH-cam channel and TH-cam channel agencies which is why I know who has potential and who doesn't. If they had three other people that wouldn't be as fitting then their big channel push and marketing wouldn't get them where they are now.
Jet lag is very much the reason I subscribe to nebula. No idea how much they make off it, but despite how much larger the HAI and Wendover subscriber base is, Sam had made comments about the relative value of the entertainment show (Jet Lag), that suggests it really outperforms.
Frankly speaking I don´t care if jet Lag just breaks even or if off camera Sam ben & Adam are getting Cocain delivered to them in golden trucks to their mansions! plenty people become rich by preying on their audiences and delivering cheap content en mass. I´d rather support that. If the creators become rich in the process or not makes no difference for me who sees the end product.
Frankly I subscribe to Nebula cause I support the way Sam & friends (as well as some other nebula creators) make content and I believe in letting my wallet speak and supporting what I want to see more of. It´s quality, it´s charming it´s not overloaded with product placement / preying on its audience. And I want to support that for the future. Fullstop!
I started watching them last year and I am obsessed I think the key to their success is that they play games we grew up with and make it 10 times better in their own unique way. Like when are you going to see anyone chase someone across Europe or hide and seek in a whole country.
Lol same, and essentially while nebula has the ability to do more, it was a bit underwhelming.... In the end I was pretty much only watching nebula, and occasionally watching curiosity stream
I like JetLag and have watched the competition for a couple of years (don't remember what the first one was). I usually stop the video before the Nebula "schpiel" because I can't watch more than one long episode per week (and I also watch other long videos) and the "watch the next episode today" isn't a good thing either, because then I have to wait for the next episode again, but pay to do it. Of course there are other creators there that I also could watch, but again, I get what I want/need for free on TH-cam (Premium).
There are extras that this video missed if you sign up for Nebula: "The Layover" podcast, where they talk about behind the scenes, game design, and more And you can also buy a Jetlag hat too if you're on Nebula
@@MrYoshiJL Wow /s, no, don't need anything with writing on it. Don't go well in Norway at all. OK, the BTS might be cool, but not enough to use that amount of money on
I love jetlag but I want to see the economics of Nebula. The platform is dirt cheap with only one major show carrying most of the subscriptions. Seems risky. Not sure how it works out paying other creators, a production team, etc
I signed up to Nebula as a way to support the content creators beyond the ad revenue / YT Premium income they get from the TH-cam views. I'm lucky enough that I can afford it, and see the early access to the latest episode and exclusive JetLag content is a small bonus.
When I first discovered the channel with the Australian season I binged watched every single video in 2 weeks waiting for the next eps of the Australia season 😭😭 frr every ep was so good 😭😭
I think i initially started paying for Nebula just to watch Crime Spree across America when it was mentioned on the Half as interesting channel. Since the subscription at the time was yearly and not monthly, and I kept paying once jet lagged hit because I love the serries so much, I want to watch it right as it releases.
So in other words, a plane heavy season is forthcoming, likely in the US because that would make the most sense (because I can't see them doing a serious plane season in Europe and they don't really need a new guest for AU/NZ).
I watch Jet Lag on TH-cam because it’s free. I’m not going to pay for a service to watch the same video that I clan get a week later for free. I don’t care if I wait a week to watch a new episode because no matter which platform you use you’ll still have to wait a week for a new episode anyway. Also I don’t have much money to spend on things I don’t need such as a streaming service. That money will be better spent on my rent or groceries.
Not all Nebula shows do this. Jet Lag is leveraging TH-cam to advertise Nebula; other creators on the platform post either exclusively on Nebula, or post extended edits on Nebula including content that TH-cam would suppress them for.

Aaand it's also transportation focused.
Yeah they're pretty much PG Top Gear

Except with Jet Lag the hosts don't seem to be overall shitty people, which is a major bonus.
no, very different
A big thing that makes them so successful is that all three of them have a personality that sells well on the internet
They're just ordinary people , all these kind of things do well on youtube and there isn't much competition

Jet lag is my favorite channel on TH-cam
Jet Lag is literally my favorite internet series of all time. I'm so happy it's becoming more prominent

I love how Jet lag also somehow manages to deliver facts about the country their in whilst your just watching a chaotic friend group play a game😂
I’ve signed up to nebula because of jet lag

It's a fun, no thinking about show to watch on my Wednesday afternoons. Just 3 friends having fun, playing a game on a massive board
5:38 This is incorrect. They sell hats, stickers and a poster on their Nebula Merch Store.
And a stealth black sweatshirt

I found Jet Lag when they did a crossover with Tom Scott on one of his channels.
IF THEY GOT ON JETLAG BECAUSE THEY WORK FOR SAM, *WHERES AMY???*
She's always the person working behind the scenes
She's basically the Wilman of Jet Lag. Ever present in the background, never in the foreground.
