He doesn’t always hit the right note, vocally, but he has a beautiful voice and can write sublime lyrics to stunning tunes. One of my favourite artists since accidentally stumbling across ‘Rave On’ in the eighties. His break-up songs are exquisite. In a way, I’m glad he’s not more celebrated because he’s like a secret treasure that not many of us know about - comparatively.
