I believe Georgia is now allowing fully vaccinated folks to come freely and Brits can stay there (and work remotely) for upto 12 months. Your friends apartment that you're shooting in looks stunning.. Could you share the name of that apartment block & street? For $400 a month, that looks superb. You also mentioned you've seen some other stunning accommodation in Tbilisi. Would really help if you can share some other links of good apartments there. Many thanks in advance. Cheers buddy
Hi James. How are Georgians (and digital nomads) handling covid? We are thinking of heading to Tbilisi in a couple months on the remote worker scheme. I know covid rates have been fairly low but they are increasing. Are things open? Are people being careful? Was there ever a lockdown? Thanks!
Hey Lizz, the situation has been frustrating at times and of course that is the case everywhere. It started off decent and the lockdown (more a night curfew) really only seemed to be in place to stop looting etc. It happened for around 4-5 weeks I believe 9pm - 6am. The summer was excellent, got out lots with the car and that felt really good. But yes recently things have been harder, people are certainly getting a little more lazy with the regulations, couple that with a busy wedding season through until September - and suddenly you have a huge spike in cases of course. Tonight a ban was implemented on pubs and restaurants being open after 10pm in both the Kutaisi and Tbilisi regions. Honestly, I am a little concerned about the outlook as well - pubs, restaurants and whole tourist areas are in huge decline (gone mostly) - but thats everywhere I am sure. Also, If there is a vaccine - being in Georgia won't give me a fighting chance of getting one - as I don't believe they would get hold of any (no flu jabs yet!) for a while after a release. If your concerned about covid specifically - They don't wear masks correctly (noses out/around necks in supermarkets etc), and "social distancing" of course isn't in a Georgians nature. But at the same time they drive everywhere - so less people out in the open to worry about etc. If any of that worries you, perhaps come as it starts to warm up in the spring? Personally, I am kinda over the waiting game now, and its getting me frustrated for sure. Missing friends and family and the wait could go on for quite some time it feels for anything to return to normal - so we shall likely leave, and sadly depart home to the UK, perhaps around Christmas/January time. With the borders being basically closed we have felt somewhat isolated I suppose here. The country is lovely, I reccomend it for awhile - but of course there are positives and negatives with each and every place.

We want to come to Georgia as I think they are handling covid better than Mexico and the US. So many things are closed in Mexico and we haven't done or seen much since March. We also want to spend time skiing. Hoping that Gudauri will be open. So I'm thinking we'll stay for a year then hopefully when a safe vaccine is available, we can fly somewhere to get it if it's not available in Georgia. Crossing our fingers!

Someone isn't Listening. You need to earn $2000 a month to apply for the nomad visa. All bills/rent and food and running a car for us (2 people) is around £700 a month. However borders are open again. For now.

This country is a nightmare. Food and people are terrible. There are a lot of racists and most gyms don't give membership to foreigners. There aren't lots of tourist spots either. But still, if you want to visit this keep this at the bottom of your bucket list. Ofc some people are nice but that doesn't make everything good.
