Madonna got sick after losing her foal.
In his vlog I will update you on how she's doing.
And what caused this tragedy.
For me this is still really hard to talk about.
So I'm sorry if I'm rambling a little in this vlog.

Please do not be so hard on yourself. Nothing is your fault. I was a labor and delivery nurse for 10 years. Even in humans, this type of thing happens. There could be a placental insufficiency, or pressure on the cord after her water broke when the foal wasn’t quite positioned correctly. It looks like Madonna is doing much better than you, mentally. She will bring you through the grieving process. I hope her lameness improves. Laminitis is the word that you were trying to explain. Hugs and prayers for you.

My heart is hurting for you and for Madonna. Going into shock can also delay the grieving process for you. Right now, your focus should be exactly where it is, on Madonna and on yourself. Thank you so much for the update. I will be praying for a speedy recovery for Madonna, and you are right, you can see the sadness in her eyes. You can see it in her entire being, even being ill, besides that, you can see her soul is hurting. I will pray that her soul heals as well. I will continue to pray for Lavendel and her baby as well.
I have to say, I am very happy to hear you will be naming the foal once the autopsy (necropsy) is done. Having a little ceremony and even a little plaque made to honor his soul, that is so special. I think it will be a wonderful and healing thing for the entire barn and family to do. You may have made it through this video with no tears, but I know I didn't! 😢 ❤😢❤😢😊

Having a memorial for the foal is a wonderful idea.
It will help bring some closure and help you progress through the grieving process,and in turn you will be able to be more present for Madonna.
I am not sure what the gender of the foal was,but if it were a colt, I think Gabriel would be a suitable name,and for a filly Hnossa (var. of 'hnos' which is Old Norse for jewel or treasure and the most beautiful daughter of Odin ❤

Sometimes our intuition about sad events is valuable in telling other horse owners.

I’m so sorry for your loss. Sometimes we so attached to unborn children and animals. When they don’t make it we get crushed I’m sure he knew he was loved the whole time. I’m soo soo sorry about your loss. I can’t even imagine how difficult this must be 😔. Madonna is so blessed to have you be there with her; supporting her throughout her grieving too. I’m sure she’s in tuned with your feelings as well and wants you to be ok too. She needs you to take care of yourself as your other horses need you too. This is only my third video, and sadly I’ve only ridden a horse but a few times. Never fortunate enough to be around them. City girl here with a country girl heart. Well, a 66yo ‘girl’. But I am a mother, grandma & have animals, so that’s enough to get me crying with you. I could feel your pain & sorrow thru the screen. Yes, time will lessen your pain to a manageable level. But until then, do whatever you need to do & only YOU know what that is. And whatever it is… it’s ok.
I’m sure you know we learn when we go thru trials. I know, it’s hard to think about that right now, but something positive will come from this tragedy. Your experience & knowledge may help another one day. Keep yourself open for when the moment presents itself.
PS: Once when grieving I went in my closet and proceeded to beat the snot out of a pillow with a coat hanger! I highly recommend it, it’s great therapy! 🙏

So sorry Malin, Sometimes things just don't work out, there's nothing we can do. I hope you can get some restful sleep, although I know the worries are probably keeping your mind awake. It may help to listen to peaceful music in the evening as I find it can organize and calm the thoughts. It's important to find trust in yourself that you did everything possible. Watching your videos, we can all see that you give the horses, the best care and love.

I think your explanation of what happened makes a lot of sense. The medication Madonna was on probably caused her normal labour to be disturbed. So glad to see Madonna is recovering and I know you will too.
