Another great video, Makes me think about getting a Sherp, My fear of heights gets me watching you climb, when I've stood looking up the ladder for the Duluth MN lift bridge I always fall down, I've gone up a 100 ft tower but with steps and railings and I'm in the Squirrel club for making it up there, Thank's for a great view Rob
Every time I see these towers ya must wonder who the men were and wish you could hear there stories. Like damn there would be some lonely cold windy weather up there. I Imagine they had radio friends but like jeeze. So cool Rob thanks for posting
Thanks Man! Ya, they did their daily log reports and chatted a bit on the radios but I'm sure it was a pretty long day sitting up there. A lot of them had their families living with them in the cabin below, so it was a distraction from the daily routine. There's a few videos kicking around on TH-cam that show somewhat how it was.
Hey Rob, to still find a century old fire tower is amazing, but quite clearly the MNRF is not in a big hurry to spend the money and tear the rest of them down, go figure, it would be nice if a few of the towers could be salvaged, but it's understandable that not all history should remain, as long as we learn from it and don't repeat past mistakes, have a nice week and bye for now.
Yes it is. They torn down another one that was in it's 90's a few years back. It even had the original log cabin and 1950's cabin on site...one of the best sites I've seen. Gone now except on video. Thanks Marc!
@@OutdoorRob Thank you Rob, I look forward to more of your channels' content in 2025, I've enjoyed it now for a few years, keep up the good work buddy.
Ya, most of the ones still standing have had the first 20' section of ladder removed. This one is pretty remote and never got touched...I fully expect the tower to be gone in the next few years though I'm sure. They are slowly coming down and our History is disappearing with them. One of the reasons I go there and video them for people to see when they're gone. Thanks Olivier!
For sure! When they abandoned the Towers, they took all the workings plus broke the windows out and threw the roof hatch covers down...I guess so that the wooden structure would rot off, was their thinking. Thanks Man!
cool as hell.. should be restored so ppl can stay in it .. preferably somewhere in scottish cairngorns lol why we na have these in uk is beyond me ,, sad lol
thx for another amazing video Rob, cant wait to see whats next :)
Thanks Man! Have a few more exploration vids mixed in with everything else.
Congratulations on climbing the tower!
Amazing, it's still together.
Thanks for sharing your adventures!
Thanks Dan! Those older style Towers are sketchy to climb but this one is still pretty decent.
Awesome video and it's not raining
LOL! Thanks Ted!
always cool to check any old fire tower out. enjoy them while they last
Yep, they'll be gone before you know it. Might do another Fire Tower trip this summer...still have one that I really wanna get to. Thanks Man!
I am surprised it is still standing but I am NOT surprised that you climbed it !!!
LOL! Couldn't resist! Thanks Vance!

Thanks Tim! I've climbed a couple in Minnesota with the stairs and they're more scary than any ladder...they bounce when you walk on them LOL!

Nice vid man
Thanks Charlie!
Things you put yourself through. Good tower for the years. Too bad cabin is missing.
Not very many cabins were left intact, for some reason most of them were demo'd or burned after the system was obsolete. Thanks Fred!

Thanks for the support Marc!
Rob and Ted should do a collab exploration to a secret location. he he. When i see Ted in Canadian tire, im gona say that to him. 😁
Need to find some secret locations. Thanks Man!
I was hatched in Fort Gary, Winipeg, Manitoba, Canada in 1952. I helped during harvest time on my late uncle's grain farm in Ontario.
Nice! Been to Winnipeg many times. Thanks Robert!
By the looks of the color painted on the inside, it likely hasn't seen any maintenance in 50 years. I'm happy to see it still standing!
Thanks Man! I'm sure it hasn't been manned since the late 1960's.
Lucky, those in my region got their ladder cut down.

Wouw best Hoge Uitkijktoren daar
100 voet of ongeveer 30 meter hoog. Ze lijken altijd groter als je daar bent LOL! Bedankt man!
@@OutdoorRob Ja klopt ik denk ook altijd dat de uitkijktorens hoger zijn dan normaal
If there was a stool I could sit for hours just looking around. If the roof cover was there that look out would last much longer.

That one would be cool to restore. Thanks Man!
Not a ladder I’d climb.
The old ones were a little sketchy, much lighter and narrower. Thanks Darrell!
