Or a functioning elbow tendon 😅
Hahahahahah yep hahaha if you know you know
miraculously they become kind souls

Can we get more knowledge on what to do from the knees?
Yeah agreed give us some more from knees preferably ones to beat spazzy new white belts as quick as this one
Stand up
Pause
Get up bro 😂
Stand up
Thats how we teach the 3-4yr olds to do standing judo throws.😂😂
The image of a 3 year old slamming another 3 year old with a judo toss I'd hilarious 😂
@@GlorifiedGremlinit is!!!! Baby judo is the cutest thing ever
Yeah we make new guys do this at our school till they at least have one stripe. I can’t start like this as a wrestler 😅😅😅😊😊hilarious homie
This is refreshing to see. Thanks Matt, I’ve used many of your teachings and it often are answers to the elaborate games I’m not flexible for.
I used this last night and it worked! S tier advice!
More like this Matt please, as well as starting standing. 💯🥋
I love it and all your short lessons. You make them easy to learn.
Just started jujitsu 2 days ago. Made us start from the knees and I didn’t really know how to start but to fight for hand control. Will try this for sure. Thank you
Bro I swear it’s scary when you ask yourself what to do and a day later it is in your shorts feed. That TH-cam algorithm can read minds too
An easier modification to this from judo which doesn’t risk twisting your ankle is to press your heel on their knee effectively pushing it backwards while doing everything else the same
Tai otoshi from the ground
Goddamn, you make it look easy...and smooth. I need 2 hours just to digest the Humbler.
Time in is time in.
It's a ground tai otoshi. Most Judo throws have an application on the ground -- old school judoka would consider most of BJJ sweeps to just be the corresponding throw.
Yes, more of this teaching please.
Academy. Thanks for the tips.
I love your videos, please keep on making them!!
Great stuff.
I like these videos on the basics.
NICE!!!
I have added this move and many of your favorite moves to my class curriculum. Thank you for your great invite, humor and techniques. OSU
Lol I used to be "the humbler" at my old academy. That's exactly how that conversation goes 😂
Dope content Matt! Keep em coming!
Academy...
🤙🏼
I met Matt in Tampa FL when he was a blue belt I was new in town and he gave me da ride home on my first day ... Really humble guy
Tai Otoshi
Smooth as butter
Last thug who tried to mug me was using a kimono. This move saved my life.
What I learned is that starting from the knees is a waste of time - someone is starting as the passer and someone is starting in open guard. That's how the roll starts. It should never be knee wrestling because that's not a realistic position for any situation.
yeah I agree its a roundabout way to skip takedowns, and enter into more developed positions. Probably some merit in safety for beginners there.
It teaches hand combat, tech etc. Also keeps the hands active. BJJ is active hands and feet. Hands produce more control then feet.

Academy Another Great Video
Your a real G
Academy. Thank you!
Bro that’s bad-ass!! I’m subscribing 😂
Love these!! Academy!
Great videos, academy.
I need to try this
Tai Otoshi from the knees
Hell yeah
Academy
Keep up the awesome vids
Academy. Love the basics.
The real Attitude Adjustment
This is another slick one, thanks🎉😊
Big fan ! Great videos !

Niiiice Coach!
Beautiful!
Awesome! Academy
Dope! Academy!
Great
I'm always stuck in Newaza. I will give this try for sure!
Love it
😅 Excellent!
Cool move, man.
This was amazing, I'm going to use it in Judo Newaza
Nice and so simple.
Nice move.
Academy!
Love all the "Academy" options
Judo, Newasa 😊
😂😂 my first time I was neck cranked!!
This guy’s got charisma and he SHOULDNT be down on the mat. He needs to be out front teaching leadership to the young. We don’t need BJJ fighters in the world; we need intelligent leaders who can figure things out in the face of adversity. This guy’s got it!
Excellent
Cool Academy!
so cool
ACADEMY!!
Acadamy. Great videos
a purple once taught us; don't engage on both knees, always attack the guard in samurai stance;
I later learnt though; There are guards that are most effective against pressure passing; ie: all the attacks stem from the passer driving in or putting on pressure
Then there are guards that are effective against backing away or standing up.
I've learnt that actually practicing the different guards; you get to learn which is which and you can build basic rules around which guards to use against which passers, which passes to use against which guard players and the finer details come after.
EG:
in general; you can never put full pressure on the spider-guard, stay on your feet and pull the guard players legs away from him
Academy. Thanks.
Perfect.
Love it. Haha .
Thanks
Vera nice
Nice
I have a bad attitude now!
Thanks coach!
This was one of the First sweeps i learnt in Judo 30 years ago. Sometimes we used the opposite foot,
Brilliant
I love that move.
Well done
ACADEMY 😁
Nice stuff
Tai otoshi!
Academy !!!!!!
Cool..
This move works like a damn charm
🔥🔥🔥
Humbler...love it!
I’d rather sit out a round and give more mat space than start from the knees
Academy academy!!
At Paulson gym we do the same thing, but put the foot on the other side first to get them to overcommit and destabilize their base for the actual move.
I am from a small city of india, I love jiu jutsu and I really want tk learn it but there is not any jiu jutsu school. Please Matt, help me.
Yoyr best bet is to watch online and have a few friends to practice with. Hopefully you can find a nice soft place to roll without injuries.
@@MochaZilla thank you very much
Look for judo or sambo as well.
@@mayank-15 my pleasure
more technique from knees please
Yup, this is my go to when people want to knee wrestle lol
Yeah, I did aikido before starting BJJ, we used to do lots of stuff from the knees to get used to height variations (tall vs short, etc.). So, when I got to BJJ, I was always taking control immediately. Now, whenever we don't start standing, most people go directly to sitting instead of knees when sparring me
ACADEMY!!! PLEASE!!!
tai otoshi + juji gatame. yea, rename it to humbler, that sounds more cool.
chill beats to humble your opponent to
Academyyyyyy
Samurai Jujutsu takedown with modern Judo / BJJ. Nice! 😎
Im a firm believer in either starting on your feet or play bottom. No knees
Thanks Matt, grandma stood no chance to this one
So im guessing this is the equivalent to the 3 and 4 move checkmates in chess it is a good party trick to do to beginners or like he said to himble people but also probably wouldnt work vs experienced peoppe
It may. Try it.
@@JBonez.51exactly. Because sometimes experienced people underestimate others and get taken by surprise
