Ron Stout, unstoppable, even as his glasses slide down and his headphones slip over his eyes. Unflappable. He manages a phrase such that he can push his glasses back up, then gravity makes another play at him with the headphone thing. You'd never know anything happened just hearing the solo.
Was will man mehr: Arrangement-Klasse, Musiker-Klasse, Aufname-Sound-Klasse. What more could you want: arrangement class, musician class, recording sound class.
Such incredible writing, and the performance was worthy of that writing! Great video. hat's off to Rick Breen for recording, mixing and mastering this. Love your work on this Rick!
These cats just can't miss. That's why they are who they are and where they play. Wayne's sound is so clear and pure; reminds me of the late George Graham. I remember Ron Stout from the Woody Herman days. He just never changes. Always plays great solos. Great vid and thanks for sharing. Ron Mills Glenn Miller Orch.
That actually happened to me on a gig with Scott Whitfield, a friend an colleague to most in this band. Scott had hired me for a NYE gig years ago, and was destroying the changes on, of all tunes, "Proud Mary". I wasn't the only one to miss my entrance, slack-jawed and grinning.

Ron’s a bad dude man! The crisp attacks on the trumpet section/awesome!
Text book studio sound. Top shelf players. And that ends the cliche fest for now folks.
