    Great explanation. What exercises can strengthen and support the back to prevent this from reoccurring?

      @@docjenfit Thank you! BTW, I had a seriously seized up back. I couldn't sit in a car and could barely sit in a chair at home. I could walk and stand but it was crazy tight. Someone recommended dry needling to me and it was simply miraculous. After a 45 minutes session, I went from not being able to bend over to doing a downward dog to about 75% of my range. It was just incredible! I highly recommend dry needling by a professional for a bad seized up back. I'm now working on all the basics to strengthen my hips, back and core.

    Does this mean you shouldn’t get adjusted…? And are there exercises besides resting that will strengthen that area?

    • @docjenfit
      @docjenfit  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Generally adjustments are just short term fixes. Also, when our system is inflamed and guarded, an aggressive intervention like an adjustment can be very triggering. Not to say it wouldn't help some people, but we like to take a more independent approach. Working on getting the area calmed down, then developing good, dynamic core stability, and starting to load up the back muscles in supported positions is how we like to develop long term resilience in the area!

    I was wondering that as well. Is it worthless to see a chiropractor?

    • @docjenfit
      @docjenfit  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Really it always depends! Same with a PT. You really want to look for someone who is going to do active movement with you to help you with a proactive solution. If they are just doing passive treatments, steer clear!

    Ever since my first pregnancy I will occasionally throw out my back. Could a epidural cause a minor spinal injury that could be causing this to happen?

    • @docjenfit
      @docjenfit  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Megan. It is tough to say that for sure. After delivery, we also definitely need to start reconnecting into our core, pelvic floor, and breath in order to develop that functional, dynamic core support that we need. Have you tried seeing a pelvic floor therapist by chance?

    I’ve had this for 20 years and takes me 2 days to walk again. I’ve been to so many chiropractors with no improvements. The McGill big three exercises are the best strengthening moves I’ve found, but still no final preventative answer.

    I have had glute spasms for 8 years. No amount of breathing, exercises or massage do anything for me. I have lost all hope. I live with continuous pain and sometimes , on top of the pain, the spasms will start and go on for 3 or 4 days. X

      Actually, I felt the same way. A long video talking "about" back pain and the suggestions seemed to be breathe (always a good idea) and relax. Practical exercises are worth 16 minutes of my time, this was knot.

    This is the most superficial video on lower back pain I’ve seen so far, and I’ve seen a lot. No real information..barely even anecdotal. This basically is a bunch of word salad and a vehicle for the ads. Just shut up with all the extraneous over emotional stuff and try and show some real stretches. Nobody who watched this learned anything but how to spot a grift.

    • @docjenfit
      @docjenfit  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      So sorry you feel that way. We have definitely heard otherwise from other people who resonated with some of the messages we had in this video. It is a podcast, so there is definitely a lot of talking, but we try to approach issues a little more holistically and discuss the whole bio-psycho-social model of pain that we find many people deal with components of. Appreciate it might not have felt helpful to you. I hope you find something that helps address your pain points!
