I had some old dynamite boxes in the barn that I thought would be perfect for the drawer fronts of the workbench. I flattened them out and glued them down to plywood backing, before cutting them out on the CNC table and attaching them to the drawer boxes. I fired up the forge and hammered out some square bar on the anvil to make some handles. Lastly, I move in the big heavy tool box.

Get Plastic nails for the Bradnailer. They work great, and No worries on the CNC. I seen this tip on a CNC WOOD CHANNEL
cant tell you how much i love your videos. I have been following your jorney for years. It made me sad when you stopped uploading videos last few years, but i see you had 2 lovely reasons. Keep up the good work Justin.
My words exactly when I was watching this video.
same thoughts, here.
Three lovely reasons! Third being the one that made them with me. Thanks for sticking around, really aiming to get back in to more regular videos.
@@rainfallprojects501you are truly a fortunate and blessed man to have such a lovely family and be so talented.
@@rainfallprojects501 We will all be here no worries. You take your time and enjoy the moments with your family.
Man, those cabinets look incredible. I'm so happy you're back making videos, but I can see that you've been busy outside of TH-cam. I'm sure between farming, being a husband, and becoming a Dad to two beautiful girls, you don't have a lot of leftover time... Thank you, as always, for bringing us along.
Your ability to combine aesthetic, functionality, and craftsmanship is beyond parallel. Strong work!
Making the drawer pulls yourself was 100% the right call
I have some similar explosive boxes a good friend gave me but I have never found a use for them. The workbench looks so good and it's great to see you back on TH-cam.
What a difference watching this and from the first time I saw you. From a farm boy to a family man, and the confidence shows……
You Sir, are a CRAFTSMAN!!!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Hats off! Incredible planning, layout, and execution!👍👍
What a gorgeous work bench. You did a perfect job of blending the aesthetic with the rustic/industrial/used material. It fits so well in that barn space without being super loud or obvious.
14:04 oh wow, the cuteness is overwhelming. Congrats, man.
Man I have been watching you for years and I am so happy for you that you have a lovely family by your side. You totally deserve it!
We have two girls now they’re 20 and 22 and I used to put them in the drawers and in my workbench like that when they were little girls that was wonderful
Lovely to see those boxes treated with such care and elevated to something that will last as long as they already have. Love the end result, great series!
I have learned that it is extremely difficult to complete a high-quality project and produce an interesting video together in a reasonably amount of time. For me, it is impossible. So I thank you for taking the time to share this project.
Those drawer fronts are so freaking cool. Very well done, and I'm so happy to see new videos from you. Thanks for doing all the work that goes into making them!
Beautiful job with the cabinets, I especially love the fact that you realized the floor was uneven & built the frame accordingly, your attention to detail and incorporating the old timbers & dynamite cases is brilliant. Keep up the great work.
Hello. I just want to say that I really admire your attention to the preservation of how you’ve made everything in your shop with attention to preserving the past.
amazing end result, the dynamite box drawer fronts are perfect look .
You do great work, don't beat yourself up over the half inch drawer alignment, was easy fix and the end bench is a thing of true quality, you couldn't buy one that could come close to the quality .
I've gotten so much motivation from watching projects like these on TH-cam over the years. Not even to work on similar projects, just to go do or make or fix something. This is far and away one of my all time favorites. Cheers from MI
We have two girls now they’re 20 and 22 and I used to put them in the drawers and in my workbench like that when they were little girls that was wonderful Great project very well done
“Cop out” indeed. Nailed it with the hand forged handles!
Great closing shot Dad!! Really like the way you wrapped the box fronts around the end elevation! Now the shop really is waiting for the sofa and etal! Again, a great "one off" Custom job!! Until your next post!
I stumbled on this while looking up designs for metal workbenches and holy crap. I now went from just buying some metal tubing and heavy gauge metal for a top to second guessing everything and wanting to try something like this. This workbench is a work of art. If I had something that looked that amazing I would always be afraid of damaging the looks. Guess it is a good thing I'm not even a tenth as good as you are with this stuff.
Wine boxes are out, dynamite boxes are in! This bench looks fantastic, right at home in the shop. Great build and great to see videos from you again. Thanks for sharing!
Love it! It has all the trademark craftsman elements that made me always love your videos! The care and attention you take is just great. Please keep making content as we all really missed you!
Lucky girls(all three), lucky man.
Your videos are just as great as your craftsmanship.
God bless your family.
That is some high-end furniture for a work shop. I love it!
But then again, the workbench is still eclipsed by those gorgeous children.
Congratulations! Glad to know your absence was a positive one! Really glad to see some more videos you're my absolute favorite creator on here!
So great to see you back, and those dynamite box drawer fronts look spectacular. A big wave to Roisin and Bonnie. 👋🏼
Dang, this project looks SO GOOD! I always get excited when I see a new Rainfall Projects video.
Also, I LOVE your electrical plug solution. What a great idea.
It is wonderful that you taught your kids ASL. We did baby signs then dropped it when they started talking. As adults now, we all picked it back up again at the community college recently. Such a great tool in the toolbox.
As usual your projects are a cool industrial feel, warm and soft at the same time. Excellent job Justin!
Those drawer fronts are the best thing I've seen this year! Great project and very well done.
That was a great project. I am getting ready to build something very similar but about half the length of yours and with a steel top instead of wood. For the drawer faces I will use sheet metal. Thank you for the inspiratiion
This is not just work bench this is art.
I didn’t have a nice work bench like this in my old shop but some reclaimed cabinets from a house I was hired to remodel. There’s one thing that made them super special to me though. When my boys were still little I let them have some sharpies and go to town on the inside of the bigger cabinet door sections. When I was in the shop the two of them would hang out inside the cabinet just talking and giggling with the doors closed. They would draw and write stuff all over the inside. After we moved to a new place I wish I would have taken them with me. I absolutely love looking in there when they went around and reading and looking at all the stuff the did. Made me feel like they were still there even when they were at school.
You're an artist my friend. How you come up with these ideas is beyond me. It looks incredible!
It’s always a good day when you drop a new video! Love the look of the boxes and love your videos mate! Thanks for sharing! ❤
those are REALLY cool. its even cooler that you opted to upcycle them for drawer fronts.
Just came back from work, made some coffe, turned on pc.. and look who's here!!! awesome.
turned out absolutely amazing!! a custom work bench similar to yours is on my todo list and this video is what i needed to get me motivated
It's funny being over six feet tall and trying to remember a time I was that tiny of a human. So many great things about being a kid we didn't have the perspective to appreciate
really missed your videos last few yrs but with 2 little girls I completely under stand .hope to see more videos
Using the explosives boxes is brilliant and it looks incredible! Can’t wait to watch the new kitchen cabinet builds
Found your channel when you made a tool box for your pickup. It’s been a fun ride ever since.
Tremendous craftsmanship; in both the workbench and the video itself. You have an uncommon skill.
That's not a workbench, it's a piece of art. Wow. Don't you dare get it dirty...
Looks amazing. If this is how good you build workshop cabinets I can imagine how amazing your kitchen cabinets will look!
I like how you talk about the cut being dicey. Good to point out to folks what to do and not to do :)
Love your videos and same as some other people been watching from the beginning. Real sweet bench and great laughter and fun those girls had.
You know fall and winter is coming when Rainfall Projects start posting videos again 🥰
this is the nicest worknech i've ever seen, amazing work!
I must admit, after I saw the drawer fronts (which look amazing) I thought that little imitation sticks of dynamite as drawer pulls would look good to go with the explosive theme.
That work bench looks so awesome!!! You did everything. Welding, woodwork & creativity with those dynamite boxes. I truly enjoyed your video. Superb!
Talk about dream barn/shop! If I had that I'd be in heaven! Keep the video's coming please 😊. They keep me going on My projects. Thanks for all the idea's and inspiration!! Truly talented. Love it!!
This is my favorite channel! Love everytime I see a video posted
So nice having you back putting out excellent videos, absolutely love the designs on those dynamite boxes, so cool!
That bench is awesome love how you made use of the boxes
So glad to see a post: FYI, you can get plastic nails for pin nailer. Amazing right!
Great project as the rainfall is returning to the NW. Glad you're back to building.
Such a cool idea for the drawer fronts. Amazing build!
Im SOOOO happy you’re back making videos. I know it takes a lot to do, but you are for sure my fav TH-cam account!
Love the drawer/door fronts! Looks amazing! Glad to see your back on TH-cam
That is so epic. Always seem to have the coolest stuff laying around. I mean dynamite boxes? Definitely the coolest barn I've seen. Best toys too.
I really enjoy your videos and projects. You’re very talented and insanely patient. Keep up the good work
Good to see you back posting videos.
Absolutely a work of art with the old boxes. The forged iron handles are perfect. So gorgeous.
Going to be massively useful too. Organization opportunities! Just get an efficient system down.
And a convenient time out for fussy children? ;-) lol Really awesome project.
Can't wait to see the wall finished too.
I wasn’t sure about the box fronts at first, but you were right. They look fabulous! Congratulations...now don’t get it dirty.
That is the best looking workbench! Great job!! I definitely have some envy.
> A little dicey ripping them down to be honest.
Yeah, I probably wouldn't have attempted that without the riving knife at minimum, but probably also a finger board and/or the anti-kickback put back on. Glad you're safe, and the results are awesome!
Came out amazing! You should put some cold blue on those silver outlet covers to get them to match the rest of the black
Your videos are the absolute best. Big old fan of you and the shop! Good work, as always!
Super good looking result! Lots of good details!
those drawer fronts are the bomb Man....
The drawer fronts and doors look really amazing 🤩
JD, your baby girls are adorable! And well done on the work bench!
Loved this project. Turned out amazing. Nice work!
Looks so amazing, I really love the fascia you made with the old boxes! This project is definitely a testament to your skills!
PS: Greetings from Australia! 🦘
That’s awesome!! Great work bench and that’s awesome your kids come out and “help”.
Wow, super nice job. I have a serious case of workbench envy, now.
That is incredible, I love the use of the old dynamite boxes.
This is some great content and a really nice work bench. What adorable kids. God bless you and your family.
LOVE the "dynomite" doors and drawer fronts! How lucky that the finger joints weren't glued...
That’s a sharp looking workbench!
That benchtop looks amazing.
Outstanding design. Turned out great. Should've made pulls that looked like fuses 😅
bring back the custom van vids please
also i loved the shop workbench vids they were great
That bench looks fantastic! Great job!
The whole project is great but the drawer fronts are AMAZING.
7:48 you should add some barn style doors to the back and front of the forge so that the heat doesn't escape the forge so easily. That's a lot of wasted heat after all. A simple method to make shutter doors is to weld some angle iron to the face (pointing up) and then making the doors to hook unto that angle iron allowing you to slide them in and out to adjust the aperture.
Loving how you even made the handles yourself although it surely was quite time consuming, and didn't just go out and buy something similar.
Wow, great job, the workbench turned out awesome
It looks so nice and creative ! Excellent work !
Wow, that's the most beautiful workbench I have ever seen!
R.P. very nice work as always.. I'm glad you started this new project.. i didn't see you for a long time... I guess you were busy raising your family...
Well I hope there are many more projects coming soon.. This one turned out beautiful....Thx for bringing us along... Take care my friend and God Bless....
Looks great JD. Glad to see more videos coming our way! I'd replace that white outlet with a black outlet though. But that looks fantastic
What a project!!! 👏
Borrow Jason’s track saw for those sketchy rips 😉
It would be cool to see a behind the scenes how you think, plan, draw, modify, and execute your projects.
Dude, you been busy. I see why you haven't been filming. Thanks for the videos. Hopefully more are to come.
Thays the most beautiful workbench I have ever seen. 10/10
