  • Mustafa Meets With Mehmet "SAY HELLO TO YOUR BROTHER"
    Magnificent Century Episode 7 👉 • Magnificent Century Ep...
    At the age of 26, when he ascended to the throne, Sultan Suleiman aimed to build an empire more powerful than Alexander the Great and to render the Ottomans invincible. Throughout his 46-year reign, he became the greatest warrior and ruler of both East and West.
    The young Suleiman received news of his succession to the throne during a hunting party in 1520. Unaware that he would be ruling a reign beyond his dreams, he left behind his wife son and took to the road with his close friend and companion Pargali Ibrahim to reach the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. As they started their journey overland, an Ottoman ship set sail from Crimea in the Black Sea, bringing female slaves as gifts for the Ottoman palace… On this ship was Alexandra La Rossa, the daughter of a Ukrainian Orthodox minister, taken away from her family and sold to the Crimean palace. She had no idea that she would become Hurrem, wife of Sultan Suleiman and mother of princes, ruling the empire with him through bloodshed and intrigue.
    As Sultan Suleiman conquered the world, his great passion for Hurrem would clash with his love for and trust in his closest friend and advisor, Grand Vizier Pargali Ibrahim, all set against the backdrop of the tension between Christian Europe and the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century.

    I totally love seeing Hatice in her sane days. Being kind, friendly, looking after her nephews.
    To see her transforming into a volatile, erratic beach is... upsetting.
    I want the old Hatice back

    It's a shame Hatice forgot everything Hurrem did for her 😞

      They both did a number on eachother. Both of them are equally responsible for this fallout

    Maybe all the fratricide is because of all these harem mothers telling their own sons he will be Sultan someday?

      Historical no. In fact it was the law as Mehmed II legalized the fratricide so for win the support of Oulema which was important you must kill you brothers and theirs son :( . A Sultan didn't have much choice on this time ( that's why some like me think that Suleiman was quite irresponsible to make a lot of sons to Hurrem , and that's why in her own way she die before Suleiman even if in the end Selim became the only heir)
      In fact the rivality between Sultana was because of this, and not because the mothers others harem told that their own son would be Sultan :(
      But you know the show had bad writing of this

      @@nesiacha3659 I agree. And honestly, I can't understand what both Suleiman and Hurrem were thinking.
      That having multiple sons without changing the law of succession wouldn't have been a source of problems;
      And who exactly gets to succeed Suleiman; Do they think that all of their sons except the most competent and obedient one, will just magically pass away, just like it happened to Suleiman himself;
      I won't hold Hurrem as accountable for this situation. After all, she was securing her place in Suleiman's side. Her fault lies in refusing to see the tension between Selim and Bayazid and work on rectifying instead of just demanding Bayazid to obey his older brother and blaming everyone else for this.
      But Suleiman is without excuse.

      @@user-ob4sq6fi3s Neither were given much of a chance to change those circumstances, though. Between the two of them, it was the first time that brothers of the same mother, raised together, would be fighting for the same throne. It's possible to theorize that Mehmed could've been raised in hopes of changing things, but he died young. Then Hürrem died, becoming unable to influence the succession order in the same way Kösem did after Ahmed I's death, and, in the wake of that, Bayezid decided to rebel against his father's decision. It really created a set of circumstances where the last heir left standing was Selim-without him ever having to resort to the fratricide law himself.

      @@Redluna32 yes. Mehmet could have changed things had he lived long enough. After all, both of his parents would support him over any other of their sons. For he had everything that Selim and Bayazid had combined.
