Howdy 👋I've gotten a few comments related to how you might decrease both edges of the headband, for those wondering: the second tapered side follows the same design demo'd (from 08:47), you would just have to join some new yarn at the other end of the band. There are many ways you can do this - I personally like to use a standing stitch (this tutorial, from 04:51, shows the technique, th-cam.com/video/g0ut7BWCdsc/w-d-xo.html). After that, you'll then add your second accent colour (hope this helps)! ~ R

this tutorial has a lot of room for improvement. It's not step by step, so if you follow it through watch out because you'll end up having to restart as you wont have incorporated the decreases that she says she did from the beginning but only explains at the end of the tutorial :/. She also doesnt mention which stitch she uses so you have to pause and watch really carefully to figure it out. And at one point she explains how she did something using just words and no visual aid. Kind of defeats the purpose of having a video tutorial. Overall it's just not beginner or intermediate friendly, if you've never done a pattern like this before you're better off following another tutorial with better explained steps.
Hiya, the room for improvement we can agree on! (I'm newer to recording tutes & editing - bear with me, things will only improve from here on out, though)!

Hi Rainie! I want to create a small crochet business and I'm looking for small crochet items to sell, and I saw this video the headbands are really easy to make and I love it. Can I use your crochet headband pattern to make headbands for my small business? I will give credits and I'll even put your channel and this video in my shop so they'll know that I don't own the pattern PS: English is not my first language so pls don't judge me if I make grammatical mistakes im sorry
hi ! love the video and idea! I'm still a beginner so i was just wondering how tapering off the ends was done on both sides? like i followed when you were showing the headband #2 but idk where i went wrong cuz i didn't know how to then do it on the other side? everything else, i found was pretty well explained considering you made the video providing resources to fall back on. I liked how well zoomed in your camera was on your work so i could keep up visually if i didn't quite understand. Side note, I love your voice it's so nice to listen to! I hope you keep making videos!
hello! thanks so much for your comment (warms the heart)! 💞 ok, I hope I'm understanding correctly (tell me if not), for headband #2, and for the second tapered side: it follows the same design I demo'd (from 08:47), you would just have to join some new yarn at the other end of the band (to be able to work that tapered end). There are many ways you can do this - I personally like to use a standing stitch (this tutorial, from 04:51, shows the technique, th-cam.com/video/g0ut7BWCdsc/w-d-xo.html). Hope that helps! Let me know if that makes sense :~)
@@triple.capricorn of course, you’re doing a great job! The quality and explanations of your videos are great! And yes you understood my awkward explanation! I look forward to your next video! I’m slowly getting through the ones you already have up because I love the things you make :D it’s so fun to watch
i don’t understand this tutorial. i think it would’ve been better if you can clarify the decrease part because it was quite hard to understand what you were doing.
@@astrid4381 not on you at all, I've answered the same question above - for the second tapered side: it follows the same design I demo'd (from 08:47), you would just have to join some new yarn at the other end of the band. sure - were you referring to the second example (from 08:28)? If so, what I did was skip the last stitch in all of the rows I wanted to taper (as opposed to a traditional decrease). @@triple.capricorn I think they were wondering (and i am too) how to get to the opposite edge after you've finished decreasing the first edge? like, once you've done the tapering on the left side of the headband, in the video you just go straight into the red yarn, without explaining how to taper the other side? i'm rlly confused sdjfkdls help

what is going on😭 A. u never said what type of stitch to do, hdc, dc, sc, etc. u did tell us to do five rows, brava. but then we just switch do decreasing?? how?? where??😭😭
howdy, let me try to break this down in a way that's transparent: - I say at the start of the vid that I'm using a single crochet stitch - re. the time stamps you mentioned in a separate comment, it may be simpler for you to do regular decreases (this is what I did for my second variation, and again, what I advised in the vid, too) - if you're brand new to decreasing, I'd suggest referring to other video tutes, this is one I've used to learn in the past, th-cam.com/video/S1ZEtX4rlMc/w-d-xo.html
True I didn't understand anything I had to guess which stitch she was using. She didn't explain how to decrease and just kept going so fast without explaining. Confused me entirely
heya, if there's anything I may be able to help with, let me know! This was one of my first videos, so I understand if there may be some confusion, this tute was made more recently, perhaps it'll be easier to follow, th-cam.com/video/pveLLtdwWBc/w-d-xo.html

Hi Rainie! I want to create a small crochet business and I'm looking for small crochet items to sell, and I saw this video the headbands are really easy to make and I love it. Can I use your crochet headband pattern to make headbands for my small business? I will give credits and I'll even put your channel and this video in my shop so they'll know that I don't own the pattern
PS: English is not my first language so pls don't judge me if I make grammatical mistakes im sorry
Hiii,can i use 5ply yarn??
hey! yes, definitely, I’d suggest just having measuring tape with you to make sure you’re happy with your measurements/& try it on as you work 😇
Thanks 💗💗💗
How much gram yarn did u use? ❤
heya, I’d say less than 25 g! 😊
hi ! love the video and idea!
That clarifies it haha I wasn’t sure if I messed up somewhere but I get that I just needed to join it w another yarn. Thank you so much! I appreciate you linking a video to help as well! Thank you! I look forward to your next video! I’m slowly getting through the ones you already have up because I love the things you make :D it’s so fun to watch
yaaaay @@natsumi4120! of course, always happy to help! (very exciting about your own crochet journey, too)! ✨👼🏻💫💛
i don’t understand this tutorial. i think it would’ve been better if you can clarify the decrease part because it was quite hard to understand what you were doing.
👋 hi, check out my pinned comment re. decreasing & lmk if that's helpful
Hi what pattern did u use?
👋hey there, it’s something I came up with myself!
the decrease part is so confusing :(
oh no! what exactly is confusing you? (let me know, perhaps I can help clarify) :~)
mainly the decreasing part and changing the colours. Like the part where you have to crochet around the sides but there are no stiches there :(
also i'm not sure if this was a mistake on my part, but I don't think you mentioned making ties on both ends of the headband :'(
@@astrid4381 not on you at all, I've answered the same question above - for the second tapered side: it follows the same design I demo'd (from 08:47), you would just have to join some new yarn at the other end of the band. There are many ways you can do this - I personally like to use a standing stitch (this tutorial, from 04:51, shows the technique, th-cam.com/video/g0ut7BWCdsc/w-d-xo.html). After that, you'll then add your second accent colour, hope that helps!
@@astrid4381 ok, I think I understand what you mean, I'll link you this video that shows you how you might approach crocheting evenly around sides of a project (explained by someone who's more of a seasoned crochet artist, th-cam.com/video/oDHqT_rYMlM/w-d-xo.html from 16:30) hopefully that helps your query 💫
can someone drop the pattern for the hack part T___T pleaseee
Is it applicable for left handed?
👋I'm uninformed about whether or not there are specific differences to crocheting left-handed. But if it generally is like a 'mirroring' of techniques, then yes!
I thought the same thing, but, I didn’t know how to mirror it so I always used my right hand, I am no longer able to crochet with my left hand 🥲
Amiga me gustó tu diadema pero me confundi jajaja soy nueva en esto. Pero de alguna u otra forma termine las filas 😅
I'm glad you finished it! This was one of my first videos, perhaps this updated version would've been easier to follow, th-cam.com/video/pveLLtdwWBc/w-d-xo.htmlsi=KLtE6Ch8trZvA9C4 😇
thank you
how many threads are needed to make a white headband?
hiya, might you mean how much yarn you need? 50 grams should be plenty (let me know if I misunderstood your question)!
i dont quite get how you were able to decrease on both sides? can you please explain?
sure - were you referring to the second example (from 08:28)? If so, what I did was skip the last stitch in all of the rows I wanted to taper (as opposed to a traditional decrease). If you're curious about decreasing in general, I learnt how from watching this Wool & the Gang video, th-cam.com/video/S1ZEtX4rlMc/w-d-xo.html - they have a playlist of instructional videos that may be useful to you, bit.ly/3tRSFI9 hope that helps! ✨
@@triple.capricorn I think they were wondering (and i am too) how to get to the opposite edge after you've finished decreasing the first edge? like, once you've done the tapering on the left side of the headband, in the video you just go straight into the red yarn, without explaining how to taper the other side? i'm rlly confused sdjfkdls help
oh, gotcha! sorry, I can see how that's confusing! I've also shared this with an above comment: for the second tapered side: it follows the same design I demo'd (from 08:47), you would just have to join some new yarn at the other end of the band. There are many ways you can do this - I personally like to use a standing stitch (this tutorial, from 04:51, shows the technique, th-cam.com/video/g0ut7BWCdsc/w-d-xo.html). After that, you'll then add your second accent colour, let me know if that clarifies it :~)
@@triple.capricorn tysm, this is very helpful!
How do you decrease on the other side?
howdy - see my pinned comment, that may be helpful!
You should have put written instructions, I was confuse when you were doing the 2nd round, I thought you were still making chains.
what is going on😭 A. u never said what type of stitch to do, hdc, dc, sc, etc. u did tell us to do five rows, brava. but then we just switch do decreasing?? how?? where??😭😭
howdy, let me try to break this down in a way that's transparent:
- I say at the start of the vid that I'm using a single crochet stitch
- re. the time stamps you mentioned in a separate comment, it may be simpler for you to do regular decreases (this is what I did for my second variation, and again, what I advised in the vid, too)
- if you're brand new to decreasing, I'd suggest referring to other video tutes, this is one I've used to learn in the past, th-cam.com/video/S1ZEtX4rlMc/w-d-xo.html
True I didn't understand anything I had to guess which stitch she was using. She didn't explain how to decrease and just kept going so fast without explaining. Confused me entirely
I'll save this for when i will be more experienced 😭🥲😅
heya, if there's anything I may be able to help with, let me know! This was one of my first videos, so I understand if there may be some confusion, this tute was made more recently, perhaps it'll be easier to follow, th-cam.com/video/pveLLtdwWBc/w-d-xo.html
Can u knit it
heya, I’m a total beginner at knitting! I’ll be sticking to crochet for now ✨
