I can see most of the comments asking to replace plastic or leather to prevent leakage. Guys please trust me cotton is something which will absorb everything and itself prevent the leakage. Young age I was just using a thick cloth and there wasn't any leakage. The only thing is we have to spend sometime and effort to wash it properly. Those days I was thinking it's really a bad thing to use a cloth and changed to a sanitary pad. Now research says it's not good for women reproductivity. Unfortunately being in a cold country can't spend time and do everything. Nice video.
Yes really true, my mom either grandmom never new about disposable pads, they didnt have any uterus issues, dont know pcos, they delivered many children, today people have ample of time and money wasting and waiting for ivf and medical treatments, but have no time to wash pads and no money for buying extra pads for backup. If there is backup of pads, then can wash and keep for urgent in cold times and after periods whenever sunlight is there then can be washed another time and dry it in sunlight.
You can boil reusable pads.
Ppl are now panicking because they just found out there are heavy metals in menstrual products which make women bleed heavier so they'd buy more pads. Maybe we should return to using cloth pads or use cups/discs instead.

Kabhi kabhi market me bikte hue pads ko use karte karte itching and irritating itni ho jati he ki pad ko panty se ukhad ke fek dene ka man karta he. Ese gusse sirf kapde walaa pad hi yaad ata he or me kaode wale pad use bhi karti hu. Apka ye oad dekh kar muje apse ye pads kharidne ki ichha ho gyi he. I really kove uour Idea. I made some pads for a woman and her daughter out of items I had around the house like 100% cotton t-shirts,fleece and an old shower curtain liner as the backer fabric. She told me she and her daughter had heavy periods with thick clots but after the first use of my pads,they both have normal flow now! I was so happy for her😊

बहुत ही अच्छी कोशिश है बहन.... लेकिन ये जल्दी साफ़ नहीं होगा... कीटाणु रह जायेंगे.... और सुखाने का भी समस्या होगा.... धूप नहीं लगी कपड़े में तो गंदी बद्बु आयेगी.... आपकी कोशिश अच्छी है👌 पर वक़्त और कपड़े दोनों की बर्बादी होगी।

This is very healthy, women used to sew their own menstrual pads and had used cloth for their periods and now we have pads on market that are dangerous and are the reason why women go through infections and many other femine problems and their reproduce area get a tons of problems 😅 I wonder what they put in those pads and other feminine cosmetics like vaginal soaps etc...

@@kramani2805rinse immediately with cold water. The same day boil on the stove, then either dry in sunlight or dry with a pressing iron.

Some of them hav doubt about leakage of cotton pads for them my humble advice is that to implement only in emergency I.e;1st stick sanitary pads on top of that stick this cotton pad

Rinse immediately with cold water. Soak in peroxide, rinse, then boil. Dry in direct sunlight or dry with a pressing iron.

I think a rubber like fabric or leather should be placed at the end of the layer and on the wings too to avoid leakage and it should envelope the layers in such a way when there is overflowing the blood is trapped in

She didn't look into the materials needed. There is another youtube video from a professional who makes heaps of them. The outer layer (back of pad) needs to be waterproof fabric like PUL (poly urethane laminate). The inside needs to be either Hemp, Bamboo, or Zorb infused with silver ions (might be hard to get if you are not in the U.S. Too expensive for me in Australia). The top layer should be something of a polyester blend - that is the inner layer and the woman was using Minky.

Good idea, great stitches right there, but unfortunately i personally cant figure out washing a piece of clothe soaked in menstrual blood, i cant stand that, but its a good great idea that cuts on cost and its health friendly.
Use a diluted hydrogen peroxide after a wash as a rinse. Then rinse well

I'm in my late 40s. When I started my period I used cloth as my aunt recommends. Even to school. To this day I'm still wondering how it works and didn't fall out. We were told just to fold the cotton cloth and placed in underwear. We were taught how to wash them. Later in high school we started saving out lunch money and bought pads .

I wish i had knowen about this kind of thing when i started. I was allergic to something in pads and definitely couldn't use tampons. I was allergic to diapers also, so thats saying something as to what is being done to our babies too. There should be nothing in a diaper (pads, tampons) that should cause any issues with anyone. Glad i do t have to worry about this any longer, but was it the cause of my issue? Who knows. I will be talking to my daughters (and sons, they might have a woman in their life at some point).

Ohhh.... foreigners do not have cotton clothes like khadi clothes there, they were modern dresses. If they use clothes the clothe shape was looks out on that outfit. So they innovated, that flat and perfume smell sanitary pads.... I think pad has a plastic bottom to stop the leakage and protect our clothes. But in a long run it's causes very dangerous by using hard chemicals in it for a good smell. Now a days soo many women's are using clothes very happily. When we remove the folds of clothe and that will dry very fast. Then why this bloody pad shape and stitches to our natural clothes? And it will take a long time to dry... Every clothe was best for 3 uses. Not good for longer use.
