I switched from Hettich because they quit making the model I used to use. I like these so far. I see you have the Hafele adjustable cabinet feet. The genius of those are the breakoff nipple that maintains the set height until install, then it breaks off when you level the cabinet at final install. I like these, especially with the snap clips for toe kick. I think those are brilliant. You might want to do a video on those.
I’ve installed a few sets of these and they are well made. The in and out adjustment is nice to have when doing inset drawers. I could tell by the sound that bottom drawer was Blum. They sound like something is dragging or scraping. These are my go to for sure. I would still like to see an in depth video as to see your process. Thank you ❤
Unfortunately not. Just push to open, push to close. There’s only a handful of push to open soft close on the market. I think the typical mechanism is trademarked.
will try those in my next project, Salice are very sturdy sleds, + the fact that those are synchronized is a great plus compared to blum. looking forward for an installation video :)
we just started using progressas on our first project so far we are undecided on if we will continue with them , our findings so far: 1. The locking devices being so much further inward towards the center of the drawer makes it quite hard to grab them with both hands at the same time (especially with small hands) to disengage them. 2. When trying to disengage the locking devices it is hard to pull the drawer out when you squeeze both locks at the same time, when the devices disengage from the drawer finally it feels like you are going to break it to take it out, unless there is some hack we don't know about. 3. They seem a bit more unforgiving - some we did do go in and out smoothly, while others seem harder to pull out and when pushing in seem to have more resistance so you have to give it a more deliberate 'push'. 4. Noise -overall they seem ok, most of what we installed had these weird sounds going in and out, like metal trying to find its space, hard to explain. we are using 5/8 sides and subtracting 3/8 from the inside cabinet width.
I agree with you on 1. For 2 my technique is to open the drawer 3/4 of the way, squeeze the clips, and firmly open fully. Same way I do all drawers. As for 3 and 4 I haven’t experienced that at all. Could be an installation issue or sizing problem if the slides are good.
Terrific overview, thanks. I'm on board! I picked up a half-dozen slides a few days ago, and this will be my go-to from now on. And thanks for all of your other great videos. Cheers.
Great info. I could tell the Blums just by hearing that slop and click noise. Ill have to try the salice runners. I typically use Pride (Chinese Blum clones) because of their 6 way adjustment, and because they're about half the price of Blums, but they're not highest quality slides.
This is the F70’s little brother! Since they released the Progressa the F70 was renamed Progressa+. They’re essentially the same slide just a higher weight rating with the Progressa+
I used these for the first time on a couple of vanities I built for my own bathroom. I designed the vanities with inset drawers and doors, and in the past with Blum slides, I've experienced a lot of 'drop' on the front of my drawers after attaching the drawer front and removing the spacers. While I did experience a bit of the same 'drop' with the Salices, it was perhaps 1/2 mm vs 1 or 2 mm with the Blum. I think this might be due to the rack and pinion system as well (just a guess). I'll finish out using my stock of Blum slides for non-inset drawers I guess, and then only ever buy the Salice. I bought mine from Woodworker express online. Very fast shipping and reasonable pricing!
Can an existing Blum drawer slide set be replaced with the Salice without extensive modifications to the drawer or cabinet face? Obviously there has to be a 2 inch slot but that’s easy to do.
That is nice. I dunno if you have ever used the Blum stabilizer bars, I mean they work but they are also so awkward at the same time if you know what I mean. You guys have a slick jig setup for notching drawers out for undermount tracks or do you just order them with the notches?
Great video as always plus, you guys respond to the comments, which is amazing nowadays. So if I read all the comments, if I already have a Blum jig, this will work with Salice?
@@TodaysCraftsmen do seem alot more. I usually use the heavy duty ones. Think I will try these on the next build. Stopped using Blum slides but still use their hinges. Do you guys use Salice hinges also?
Could you provide a possible source to buy these slides from? I did a quick search and it was unclear where to purchase? Maybe a link? Thanks for all the great information and content!
@@TodaysCraftsmen No at the back of movento is a little wheel that will move the back of the drawer side to side. Sometimes a left or right front edge will stick out a little more than the other and you can adjust this with that little wheel to get all your faces completely flush. When doing a 6 drawer dresser getting all of the faces flush can be difficult. In the past I would shimm the back of the slide with a piece of veneer. What I did notice was these slide have elongated hole in front and back, so they would be good for using on solid wood gables allowing for expansion and contraction. I grind out the holes on the movento to solve this problem . But without the lateral adjustment I would not switch out from the movento.
@@TodaysCraftsmen I mostly make inset Drawers. You may not notice this issue because maybe the drawer face rests on the gable front edges. Maybe the progressive movement may have solved this issue of left or right of the drawer sticking out more than the other? I will see if Hafele Canada has these and order a couple of sets to try out.
We build inset too. I’m still not sure what direction you’re saying this adjustment moves. In and out? The Progressa has independent adjustment in all 4 directions. Up-down, left-right, forward-backwards, and tilt up-down.
Are they location and bayonet hole compatible with BLUM Movento for example? I have a set of wide drawers like that I that could use those. How are these on wide drawers?
They’re a direct drop in for blum tandem. Not sure if movento is the same. They’re great for wide drawers since they’re synchronized already. Plus the high weight rating.
Nice video, but the manufacturer is "sà·li·ce" not "sa-li-ce". I know it's quite difficult (no accent reported on the name) but we use so. Salice is the willow plant.🙃By the way, you and John are masters in woodworking.
@@TodaysCraftsmen I’m not trying to be obtuse here or start an argument, I’m just saying soft close is a luxury feature not everyone appreciates partly because it’s so so expensive. Salice & other products are insanely expensive for the average consumer.

@TodaysCraftsmen in NJ, i buy them through rugby, I get my plywood through them as well. They run specials throughout the year so I'll grab a pallet of what ever they have a special on, but there is no minimum to order. Otherwise they would be a little over 20 with clips. The salice I get through richieleu. They have great prices on the hinges as well.
@ the reason that they are the industry standard is marketing and deals with large manufacturers, I used to use Blum and then when the pandemic hit and you could only get salice, I found out that they were actually better, The progressa are the best slides on the market by far, and If you are going to worry about $30 on a kitchen then you are not giving your customers the best
