I wouldn't die from it perse, because I'd play builds for example with 100% hazard protection to overcome the shocking, etc. But I still don't play the modifiers because they are just dumb, they are fake content... especially the range shit.. it's like taking away half of the fun and saying, now it's more fun....... No.. it just makes it dumb and over complicated.... More challenging would be legendary mode in open world. And the directives we already have, at least those give a lot more xp (and more target loot in the summit). These new modifiers are totally not rewarding... the few extra rewards you get from it compared to the shit you have to do ... like the normal events like guardians / golden bullet etc. give WAY more exo cashes for example, and half of those events are more fun (like guardians isn't much fun solo, because the guardian is often way behind, which will get you killed if you can't get to them, but in a group there are more guardians). If it was more rewarding, I might not mind spending more time killing the same enemies. But actual fun is legendary difficulty, more missions, generally more new content. Give us cool snowy terrain ffs everyone loved that about td1, Ubi may not have the money for that.. well then fix more shit that doesn't properly work.. give us more stash space... I dunno man I feel there are a ton of things they could do that would be more fun than this shit.
oh yea, another dumb think I don't like the game to tell me which (re-used) content I should play... like again.. kill a bunch of this, kill a bunch of that.. it's the game telling you to jump through which hoops with your thumb in your butt all whilst still doing the same content that you already where doing.. That makes it even worse... At least with the original modifiers like golden bullet it's rewarding no matter what content you choose to do with it.
Outcast seem to have the most throwers imo. I just wandered the open world of Foggy Bottom for that task. Every group of 4 outcasts that are walking on average has at least 2
its the mid range damage reflected back at you. I spend most of my engagements either closing space to get short range, or backing up to go long. I use hazpro builds lately so I can't get shocked or burned by enemy special ammo.
During the Tanker mission while shooting the red pipes, I wonder if the modifiers were getting applied to the pipes causing them to take longer to break than usual. The Devs really did a number on New York with these season modifiers and not in a good way.
Striker with obliterate and bloodsucker paired with tenacity seems to get me through most of it quite easily but i HATE this journey stuff. Stop using shield as it just slows you down.
Shock ammo is not the worst, one fact you can counter this with hazard protection build. The return damage is the real worst. You can tell me "use skill build." We talking about a new feature in a looter shooter game that stops you to shoot.
I hate this damn modifier bs. I want to play division not Division chess. I have tortured myself completely through all the Journeys and hated it. They even made me play Descent.
Hate to even suggest it but anything with determined will cut through most of the journey headaches. Yes it’s cheesy but so is this whole journey fiasco.

25 minutes challenging without directives and with modifiers active mission to complete ! i think there is a lot of things done wrong in this video, im doing it solo heroic with all directives and modifiers activ for 15 minutes. what is going in here ?
I think he's focusing on the objective which was to kill throwers mid range i believe, only thing I can thank of. But I didnt know that there are objectives you can do without having the modifiers even on. Learned that after the fact...

That is why I stopped at journey 5,hate modifiers to Death,, I play and random gameplay,directives and modifiers, really annoy me,,great vid.
I stopped at journey 5 too because the active modifiers aren’t activating correctly.
The “game glitch” where you had issues with the pipes, was because of a modifier, if you watch the damage numbers they are insanely low.
Been running a backfire/hazpro build. The shock and burn from enemies does almost nothing now.
