Word count: 1,161 Greek Gods of Mount Olympus The Greek gods played an especially important role in the lives of the Greek people. The Greek gods are very interesting in that they each have their own personality and relationship with other gods. Most of the Greek gods were pictured as tall, handsome, and strong humans. The Greeks believed that their gods could do no wrong. Some of the most important gods lived up in Mount Olympus. Mount Olympus was located in ancient Greece, and it was the tallest mountain in all of Greece. It was so steep that no man could climb it. This great mountain was hidden in the clouds so that no mortal being could see the splendor of the gods. King of all the gods was Zeus, who ruled from the highest throne in Mount Olympus. Zeus’s father was the Titan Cronus, and his mother was Rhea. Cronus knew that one of his offspring would rise up and defeat him. So, each time after Rhea delivered a child, Cronus would swallow the newborn. But one time, Rhea tricked Cronus into eating a rock in place of her son Zeus. The trick worked, and Zeus was safe from his cruel father. Once Zeus had grown up, he and his siblings revolted against Cronus. When Cronus saw what was coming, he knew that he could not defeat them, so he fled. Subsequently, Zeus became the ruler of the universe. Although Zeus had many wives, he made Hera his queen. Hera was both Zeus’s wife and his youngest sister. Hera truly hated Zeus’s other wives and would often try to prevent him from seeing them. Zeus would often try to trick Hera and hide his other wives, but to no avail. For Hera would always see the trickery and know what he was trying to do. Although Zeus was the mightiest god who feared nothing, he did fear Hera’s bad fits. Hephaestus was the god of smiths, craftsmen, and fire. His father was Zeus, his mother was Hera, and his wife was Aphrodite. Hephaestus was a kind and hardworking god that all gods liked. He was a god who loved peace, and he was a great smith. He also worked with three Cyclopes named Lightning, Thunderbolt, and Thunder. Hephaestus and his companions would sometimes work on Mount Olympus or even in a volcano! Hephaestus made weapons, jewels, and chariots for the gods. He even made the twelve thrones that the Olympian gods sat on and the lightning bolts that Zeus used. Once, when Hera and Zeus were arguing, Hephaestus, wanting to be a peace maker, got in the middle and took Hera’s side. Zeus was so angry at him that he threw Hephestus so hard and so high into the air that it took him a full day to land. When Hephaestus finally landed, his legs were greatly weakened, and he could hardly walk. Therefore, he built himself two robots made of silver and gold. These robots had brains of their own, they could talk, and they helped Hephaestus walk. In time, Zeus forgave Hephaestus, and they were reconciled. Hermes was the god of mischief, thieves, shepherds, and travelers. Hermes father was Zeus, and his mother was Maias. When Hermes was just a newborn, he snuck out of his mother’s cave and went to Apollo’s herd. There, he attached brooms to the tails of the fifty best cows, and he led them out backwards. The brooms would then sweep up the trace of the cows and lead Apollo to be very confused. Eventually Apollo, realizing that fifty of his cows were missing, went to Delphi where he found out who had stolen his cows. Then he came back and found Hermes. He accused Hermes of stealing his cows. Hermes told him that he was just an infant and could not have pulled off such an act. Upon hearing this, Apollo told Hermes that he was a thief and a liar too. Angered, Apollo chased Hermes all the way up to Mount Olympus, where the gods were laughing at them. Eventually Apollo got his cows back, and the two brothers became friends. Persephone is the goddess of the harvest and the queen of the Underworld. Her father was Zeus, and her mother was Demeter. Persephone and Demeter where always very close, and they loved each other dearly. One day, Hades, ruler of the Underworld, was watching Persephone. When Persephone wandered a little too far away from her mother, Hades opened the earth and took her to his dreadful kingdom. There, he made her the queen of the Underworld. While Persephone was down in the land of the dead, she came across a garden with a pomegranate plant. She then pulled six seeds off and ate them. Meanwhile, Demeter was greatly discouraged, so she threatened Zeus and told him that she would not make the earth green again until she got her daughter back. So, Zeus sent Hermes to relate this news to Hades. But when he got there, he learned that Persephone had eaten some of the fruit of the dead. In time, they came up with an idea and made a deal. Persephone would stay in the Underworld for six months each year. For the other six months, she would go back to her mother, Demeter. This was all because she ate the six pomegranate seeds. Athena’s father was Zeus, and her mother was Metis. Athena was the goddess of wisdom, and she was Zeus’s favorite child. Because her pregnant mother was trapped inside of Zeus’s skull, Athena was born from the great god’s head. Athena was accompanied by a spirit named Nike, the spirit of victory. Athena would also help in a war if it were for a rightful cause. One day, both Athena and Poseidon wanted to claim a city-state for themselves. So, they had a competition to see who could give the best gift. Whoever gave the best gift would get the city. Poseidon started the contest by throwing down his trident upon a rock. Immediately water came out, and it became a vast sea. But the water was salty and not safe for drinking. Then it was Athena’s turn, and she sprouted up an olive tree from the earth. It was decided that since the olive tree had many more uses, it was the better gift. Henceforth the city was named Athens, and Athena became the goddess of that city. In Greece today, the effect of the Greek gods and goddesses is still seen in the names of the temples, in the statues, in the constellations, and even in the names of some of their cities. Of course, the Greeks believed in many gods and goddesses, but we know that there is only one true god. The Greek gods did not have many morals and were not always wise. However, it can still tell us a lot about the Greeks. Taking this into account, the Greek gods were truly remarkable.
I think they dont want that we can do everything on premier only, specially if you want more than basic editing(such as info graphics, titles etc) They want people to use their dynamic link among the programs.
How to animate the mask: add the scene with no text and hit overlay then hold down on it and drag it to the bottom of all the other clips then add a key frame at the start and end of the video then hit mask (use the rectangle one, also make sure you have the bottom clip selected when doing the mask) and stretch it behind you as you walk, while you scroll with your other thumb through the frames on the clip ( hope this helps tried to make it easy to understand)
