This is a comment from 2013: I was super excited for Battlefield 4 but after playing it discovering how broken it was and just how terrible the game looked out right, I've changed my mind. Battlefield 4 is just a reskin of Battlefield 3 in fact it feels more like Call of Duty than Battlefield and don't even get me started on the plethora of bugs and glitches, this game is more buggy and glitchy than a Call of Duty game at launch and that's saying something. EA should be ashamed Yup battlefield 4 is perfect and always has been but 2042 oh no its terrible. Love it

Bf4 was incredible for its time and still is great but I feel like battlefield 1 has aged so much better. It has fov slider, better graphics and visibility, more customization options, and just overall feels smoother. I don’t blame battlefield 4 for not having those things as it launched on last gen but as of right now BF 1 feels better.

Tldr, hadn't played fps in over a decade/ coldwar sucked, I enjoyed BF4 campaign much more sofar/ probably 5 hours in total. I hadn't played a fps since CODMW2/ pandemic hit and my wife bought me an Xbox series X and COD coldwar... Meh, played campaign for a few nights then went to online multiplayer. Prestiged twice and probably played 2x a week up untill apocalypse map came out. Just wasn't fun like I remembered in my 20s.

Not with BF2, I don't remember people complaining this bad about BF2, everyone just enjoyed the game. It had it's defects of course but the game play was flawless!!
@@tonomoto Battlefield 2 was made at a time where games didn't really have to do much like at all, battlefield 2 is significantly easier to make then 2042 because surprise the more time goes on the better the hardware and the better the hardware the harder game development is as you have to add more and make more complex functionality.
@@tonomoto back then everything was easier to make for example graphics design back then you could just type in a couple of numbers into a property's field and there you go you have a texture with a little bit of a shine on it nowadays however it's way more complex as we have more complex lighting systems and different materials now have the ability to react to light differently and you have to design it to do that so now we have to use things like blender or game engines to create all of this complexity. Models are now way more detailed and that takes much longer to design, most games today are required to have near photo realism which is very hard to pull off and takes a very long time to do, not to mention there's more complex animations which requires more complex programming which takes forever and then you have the weaponry which is way more complex nowadays which requires complex programming which takes forever and then not only that you have math design which takes a very long time since maps nowadays are expected to be more detailed and so on.

I'm an experienced xbox player who two weeks ago started to play the pc version of BF4 on my Series S through GeForce Now even my experience of that has been better/smoother than the standard Xbox version lol! Sniping with K&M is truly satisfying and easier. P. S. Two negatives of the PC version in my opinion are the crybabies in chat and hackers.
Servers are surprisingly up and running for all consoles it’s compatible with. I sadly don’t play this one much since I’m on the Xbox one s and the graphics are choppy. Next gen and pc this game is literally perfect.
I have 3,000+ hours on the 4, V, 1, and HL. I have 700+ on 2042. I jumped on BF4 Saturday for 3 hours, WOW, what a disappointment. My memories and many current streamers praise of the legacy Battlefield games does not actually match the reality of the legacy games. 2042 had a terrible launch, but it is really a spectacular game, finally! If DICE continues to improve the mechanics and ADDS NEW CONTENT, 2042 will be BF4 on steroids!

Went through B4 twice on Xbox and PC. LOVE BF4. If DICE continues to support 2042 like the did BF4, 2042 will be incredible. I played BF4 when it was a buggy POS that EVERYONE trolled. It was TERRIBLE when it was released. DICE stuck with it and it became a master piece. 2042 will hopefully follow the same path. The wild card is DICE. They pulled the plug on BFV right when it was getting great. ALSO, if they start bringing in BF4, 1, and HL maps and weapons to Portal, I will be in Battlefield heaven! The potential with 2042 is endless. I will support (keep buying) updates from DICE as long as they continue on the positive trajectory they are on. I cannot wait for this DLC release.

Was and still is the best BF ever.. gunplay, especially the AR's have the most enjoyable recoil patterns. The level and audio design was perfect.

If DICE continues to improve the mechanics and ADDS NEW CONTENT, 2042 will be BF4 on steroids!
you comparing bf4 to bf2042 and talking about 2042 will be bf4 on steroids just tells me you either have horrible taste oa are a liar and actually didnt play a lot at all. both totally different games and bf4 is better in nearly every aspect and everyone knows it,
Went through B4 twice on Xbox and PC.
LOVE BF4.
If DICE continues to support 2042 like the did BF4, 2042 will be incredible.
I played BF4 when it was a buggy POS that EVERYONE trolled. It was TERRIBLE when it was released. DICE stuck with it and it became a master piece.
2042 will hopefully follow the same path.
The wild card is DICE. They pulled the plug on BFV right when it was getting great.
ALSO, if they start bringing in BF4, 1, and HL maps and weapons to Portal, I will be in Battlefield heaven!
The potential with 2042 is endless.
I will support (keep buying) updates from DICE as long as they continue on the positive trajectory they are on.
I cannot wait for this DLC release.
