It’s an export variable that I assign in the inspector. If it’s left unassigned (like it is for the portal) then it never runs the code for attacking. The bubble itself is just an area node with a sphere collider and the collision mask and layers set to align with what it is and what it should be detecting.
isn't the original pikmin already evil? I mean, you come to a foreign planet, make the natives do your biding, kill the local fauna and loot the planet(pikmin 2 n 3) It's like a colonialism simulator
Cutting all that content was the right move. Better to have a finished game with less to do than run out of time and have nothing to show for it than a bunch of half finished ideas
that whole section trying to implement a selection method only to throw it all away is incredibly relatable. It's one of the worst feelings of dread that you're realizing the initial idea is not gonna work in time. Great video!
5:31 - Hey, I recognize those awful discolorations! I tried making a 3D mesh thing recently and got the same results. It's probably not helpful now, but I discovered that the issue was that Godot smooths meshes by default: surface.clear() surface.begin(Mesh.PRIMITIVE_TRIANGLES) surface.set_smooth_group(-1) This causes Godot to calculate normals for each triangle individually. It doesn't fix the lasso shape, but it would at least keep the colors consistent.
I always forget about those jams and never really have the time anyway, but I also have no drawing talent nor good ideas for games, so it all balances out.
as someone who has attempted to re-create pikmin gameplay 3 times I feel your pain
i love this concept!! it's so cool, but also weirdly cute xD
Cool game! I love hearing about the challenges you faced and how you overcame them. Excited to see what you do next :)
Omg I would love if you continued development on this game! I do not expect more development however, as you listed reasons why you wouldn't.
bro discovered Overlord (2007)
I love the crow character model so much, I wish I made it myself to render out a pfp
This is an adorable game!
If you ever want some tunes I would love to add my two cents!
If you ever wanted to finish that origional idea I would love to play it.
this is cool. keep expanding on it please.
You and Bobbe should fight
(Also, good video)
real
Yess a video from the goat
Great video! How do you make your animations and how long do they usually take?
are we to expect more done with this game or is it just done?
This is how they built Halo.
How did you learn to code? I'm interested
How did you do the attack bubble for the attack resource?

@@LazyAlarm Thank you!

Was not expecting the imp and raven models to look so incredible with only 10 hours left, great work as always!

I CAN'T WAIT TO PLAY THIS!

Some normal people would have called the video with a totally normal title like, but not Lazy Alarm. You never know what to except, that's neat.

You basically recreate flow field algorithm but instead of a field, it's your buddy.
Yay another vid! If your goal is still to make more vids than last year, you’ve got 6 mos! 1 vid per mos? You got this man!
From the thumbnail I thought they were made of Origami shapes
if you dont have music for a game you can put some noise in the background and it works quite well from my experience
The AI is really impressive , even if it didn't make it into the final build
Coolio!
Maybe instead of a lasso, you could have painted over the imps you want to select?
i kinda want to see you make full vision you had for the game cause it looks fantastic
KIRBY MENTIONED
