Great explanation especially Init containers vs Jobs... one thing i recommend is dont use database inside the container its gonna be mess in production
Need more information, on kubernetes data mapping executing batch process scheduled jobs. Things on pod, how can we make use similar case on os machine like ubuntu or centos.

Job Pod is not connecting SQL Pod using service name (mysql) but its connecting through Service IP.
What is the issue ?
Namespace that you should use is default, if any other ns it wouldn't work

Usually on single multiple container not recommended right.
