I was taught early on using just an oval circle with three horizontal lines identifying the placement of eyes, nose and mouth and oner vertical line to define the center. With that approach, I never became an accomplished facial arteest, just barely getting by. IMO, your technique takes this method and adds about 20 more facial references without much effort. Thanks for the lesson! I think I have a good chance that I can improve after many years of drawing... Thanks MLS!
Artists are like engineers, they have such a vast knowledge of how things work and move, and what they are made of. If they want to draw humans they learn anatomy. If they want to draw a car they learn the mechanics/ parts of a car. It's just so interesting!
This is good. I learned every bone in the body by drawing a new bone each day and breaking down the shapes and learning each of their functions and position. Good to have that knowledge in the back of my head or when drawing from imagination
