I personally really dig the "War on all sides" as a module title of sorts. Let your players interact with the war, though certain events are bound to happen. The ascent of Bjornson in New Aengmar, for example, while maybe the PCs are also responsible for the Ethengar reinforcements.
There is so much info to work with it's scary.

Seriously, thank you for all the effort you put into this video! I deeply enjoyed your reworking of wrath of the immortals and hearing the whole timeline laid out. It really sparked the creative energy in me and I could almost feel the adventures forming in my mind at the end. I just wanted to comment to say thank you for all these videos. Ages ago I had come across the list of things you weren't allowed to do, and I had it bookmarked on every computer both personal and work ever since. I would periodically revisit them and I've annoyed my friends for decades by quoting random items from it.
Then I found this TH-cam channel years ago, and started watching it and it wasn't until you said something about it on one of your videos I realized it was the same person. I also really didn't know anything about mystara. All I knew about it was that it apparently was the Hollow world, and that it was a setting from original Dungeons & Dragons. I also thought I knew a little bit of trivia in that it wasn't originally envisioned as a setting but eventually they started knitting all the modules together.
Since then, my knowledge has grown tremendously. There are aspects to the setting I love and some that I'm not as fond of but I never knew all of this depth in it. I've since been able to acquire a Hollow World box set, I also have red steel, and a few other box sets that I had collected over the decades that I didn't realize were all part of the setting.

Still love this timeline even if there are 2 things I don't particularly care for:
1: The Hollow World is still well and truly screwed. Guess we can't save everything.
2: I like the way Tanadaleyo took control in the New Aengmor video better. That one made it appear like she was doing everything for the benefit of her people and to finally end Telemon's petty attempts at revenge. The timeline videos makes it seem like it was just a bid for her own personal power.

    • @Mr_Welch

As far as the princess goes, it's a bit of both. Her father was never going to accept anything that doesn't end with Alfheim ruined. The princess also didn't want to wait several hundred years to take the throne from him. She saw an opportunity to help her people, sabotage her father and usurp his power. She cares for her people but she also won't pause to remove anybody between her and what she wants.

So, suppose Red Steel does still take place here. Unless we go back to the idea that the Week of Dread doesn't effect Blackmoor technology and Immortal Magics.
Question is, if the Nucleus of the Spheres pulls from areas effected by the Sphere of Entropy, would that mean any new Immortals from it would now be Entropic Immortals, or still Energy ones?
Personally would lean towards Entropy, with Clerics (and religion by extension) coming into Galantri, it opens up more routes to immortality for the country. Meanwhile, the Radiance is still something to be uses sparingly if at all.

I have a problem with this timeline- Tiger clan forces seem to be everywhere during the first half. How could they muster so many troops? And if they do have that number of boots then why haven’t they taken Tenobar or the eastern clans of the Turtle clan before now?

    • @Mr_Welch
      @Mr_Welch  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

Estimate Tiger forces would be about 5k, which is similar to the Turtle Clan, and with the revised Atruaghin book there is a whole bunch of sidhe and similar creatures between the Turtle and the Tiger that aren't fans of the Tiger Clan.
Tiger Forces are split between the various cities, so you're looking at maybe a few hundred in each area, while Fort Tenobar is a reinforced position with hundreds of dug in troops. Normally they are too spread out to pose a serious risk to their neighbors aside from raids. Master takes the bulk of the Tiger Clan and deposits them at various points, allowing them to run rampant against a foe unfamiliar with them. At least until the food runs out and then the hin show everybody why they have second breakfast.

I gave him the 15k from Thar's Legion and the 5k from Tiger Clan to get him up to just under 75k troops. Darokin according to RA/BS has an army of almost 30,000. 30 legions at or around 1000 each. Question for you. With the whole "week without magic" thing, is it ALL magic or just arcane? Back in the pre-3e days, there was less of an acknowledgement of different power types and effects (psionics was a big exception), but there has been a push over the last 20-some years to have different and unique sources of power. 4e, for its sins, did this in an interesting way, as does Pathfinder 2e (again, despite other issues).
Put another way, are you keeping the "all magic vanishes" thing due to the Radiance, or would it be all arcane magic is gone, but other magics are still able to work in reduced capacities? I'm thinking how the Time of Troubles from the Realms was portrayed, where divine magic was pretty much gone, arcane was REALLY screwy, and more exotic stuff was still more or less functional. So perhaps, say, divine magic had a level/power cap, or a type of wild magic effect.
This would also be a work-around for the Hollow World Apocalypse, where perhaps the sun was only dimmed, but not dark, and/or the Spell of Preservation (can we just call it a "curse" like it is? It's pretty messed up) could be affected in interesting ways.
