Not sure how I came across this video. There is way too much development here in Central Florida. People are not nice, and traffic is a complete mess. I an a native Floridian, visiting here and living here are two completely different things, but you will learn. Good luck on your hunt, and move.

I am a 69-year-old native Floridian and I am moving from Florida, which is overpopulated, with rude drivers, high prices of real estate and so much more. Car insurance and homeowners insurance are out of site. I live in Jacksonville and have another home near Ocala, it has changed so much I can not stand it. I moved from Ft. Lauderdale 31 years ago and now it is a 3rd world country. Best of Luck to you, I hope you and your family are happy and I mean that! Fords Garage is a great restaurant. My husband gets car sick unless he rides in the front and can not look down at his phone or read. Car sickness is not fun.

Love my red state of Florida. Watch out for flood prone areas. Before you purchase any property check price of your homeowners insurance. Some areas are not affordable because of the high insurance costs.

Just moved from MI and we love it! People saying it’s expensive, that’s subjective. Car insurance=same as I was paying in MI so don’t listed to what everyone else is saying. Can things be more expensive, of course, can they be less, of course.

Car insurance is rated for 6months, not a full year. Gives the state to change, elevate the rate. Why? Because FL has the highest number of uninsured drivers.

Check out HOAs rules thoroughly like what vehicles can park in driveway, where store boat, trailer, jet ski, golf carts etc. Check FEMA flood maps if in flood zone get flood insurance. Check if you can get home owners insurance. If you have a mortgage, usually tied in with, know the rate. It WILL go up annually. House…make sure there’s lotsa storage in kitchen, bedrooms, garage….not attic storage 90 degree heat will ruin stuff in attic. Is garage AC controlled, same reason if storing things. Check HOA for rules on what can go in yard, play ground equipment, shed, fire pit, pool. If you can afford a home with a pool, get one! Kids…you will need a pool 9 months out of the year. Where will you store bicycles, scooters, sport equipment, tools, seasonal decorations. Kitchen needs a substantial pantry to store food, especially during hurricane season. Water filtration, whole house system with reverse osmosis under kitchen sink, system located on north side of house, away from direct sun…same with your AC unit. Quality windows that reflect heat, the sun is brutal. If buying the home, hurricane windows or storm shutters. Tornadoes spin off hurricanes inland!! Hurricane windows best option if new home build. Check the quality of Charter schools nearby, smaller classroom sizes. Check the medical hospitals in the region, important if youth sports. Gators and snakes are no joke, listen if they are in your area. We have lotsa wildlife to be aware. Traffic…pay attention if near Interstate 4. Ask locals about traffic, research it. We chose gulf side to enjoy the beaches, inland and elevation in a concrete home. No HOA. Hope this helps ya. Welcome.

Born and raised in Orlando. Lake Nona is nice but pricey. It’s built up from being just land through the years. I was raised in the Downtown Orlando area. That’s great if you love the fast City life but I hate it but I think it’s just come with age.

I lived in FL from 1981 to 2008, went back for 3 years in 2017 and now back in Georgia. I lived in Port St. Lucie most of that time. It was beautiful back then and not crowded. Now it's like a 3rd world country and hardly anyone speaks English. Not anymore for me.

    First Go Chiefs
Target west side of Disney area. Horizon west or Clermont. Avoid Champions Gate and Davenport. That is area we live. Traffic in Davenport area is brutal. The ability to use 429 and 408 is important for moving around town. With a family living in Orlando is amazing. I wouldn’t live anywhere else but I will warn you it’s not for everyone. People move here thinking vacation paradise will now be their life. Not so us locals live and work where everyone comes to vacation. At times that can become very frustrating.

This is not the best time to buy a home in Florida.
If you must move here and cannot wait until Real
State prices level off, consider renting for now.
Otherwise you’ll overpay for a home which value
will go down by late next year.

Oh my word… I know hotel restaurants are a little spendy but I am such a frugal person that there is just no way I could enjoy that meal.
