    Hey Tony, Since when have us engineers and radio hams had a lazy Sunday. I tell my wife that I have been working all day in the shack! Well working stations anyhow. A great radio to get you tools into there Tony. Really enjoying your videos and a treat this week with some of your radio's to look at too. 73's Ian De M5AXA

    Love the 751. They get 5* reviews on Eham. I'd love a 751a if the price was sensible. There are a couple of companies making memory boards to retrofit. Nice find Tony!

    Hi, I nearly bought one of these on the weekend at our Radio Market day. Unfortunately the seller wouldn't negotiate on price or give me his contact details as it belonged to his son. There were about 6 accessories for it as well, including antenae tuners etc. All Icom. All up it was $600 Australian dollars, when everything else was less than $50. 😟

    Hi Tony. My late grandfather was an ex Royal Navy radio technician. After he retired he repaired radios in his ham shack. My late grandmother sold off most of his ham equipment but I managed to save a few pieces. Icom IC-751, Icom IC-2SAT ,Kenwood 2m FM Transciever. I Sit for hours listening to tower and aircraft transmission on the IC 2SAT that i'm able to tune to 119.70 Mhz. The IC-751 has AM and FM but only tunes 0-30 Mhz. ??? Please explain.🥺

      @TonyAlbus  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Kevin, wow that is nice equipment you managed to save. The IC-751 is specificly made for HF (0-30) it is a great Tranceiver(also transmitter) the receiving versions are R70,R71 and later R72 .. but later models got the whole range from 0-2 GHz

    Sir, somebody is selling a New Old Stock IC-750A and never been used. It is in good working condition and the price is around 430 U.S. dollars. Do you think I should buy it? Thank you so much.

    • @TonyAlbus
      @TonyAlbus  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The price is resenable, but even not used its an older device. keep in mind the caps are still old, used or not. at some point they need to be replaced. but you will love the soft sound it produces, so much more friendly then the digital radios. i love my FT-dx10 so sensitive but the icom is so much more softter on the ears

      @@TonyAlbus Wow, thank you so much for your reply and for the advice. Aside from I can't afford modern radios, I like the looks, build qualities of old radios. I've got a 751 stored in my garage along with the matching power supply. Bought it brand new in the early 80's. I installed the non-volatile board and the com port mod. Never had any problems with it. Made many many CW contacts. Nice rig. Really solid. Trivia: Remember the woodpecker? It has the noise blanker position just for that.
