That Ornette Coleman box "Round Trip" looks like it would be a good companion to The Atlantic Years box set.

Always great content. I did order the For the Birds box after seeing your post and look forward to experiencing it! Thank you. I have everything except PJ Harvey - I’ll have to give her a shot in the new year. Enjoy the holidays!

The Lyceum box is by far the most impressive to me this year. Its sheer size and content is amazing. Those shows are all incredible as well. If youre on the fence about it, snag it while you still can at retail price.

The Wilco box set comes with a woopie cushion!! THE BEST!!
Thanks for showing what many of us might never see... but I've heard something like that Wilco box around the house before. Cheers!

    Awesome video Mazzy!! As usual.
Bummer you didn't include Rush's Moving Pictures (although I'm sure you're not a fan) and also Elton John's Madman Across The Water. Both just incredibly designed and well thought out for demos and live material.
I have the Revolver box so the only three that intrigued me and I will definitely get is the Blondie box, The Fleetwood Mac box and Tom Petty box.
Just LOVE your eclectic tastes. You're right music is not a competition but????? sometimes (in a small way) it is....lol.
    Cheers from Ontario Canada!!

the farting hippo Wilco box aside 🤣 thank you for sharing your box sets from 2022, lovely year for collections, maybe among the most box sets in a year? I didn't score many box sets this year but I present to you at 2.17lb, the Prince and the Revolution Live @ the Syracuse, New York's Carrier Dome. And at 2 lbs even Regina Spektor 11:11 + Papa's Bootlegs.

Couldn’t agree more about Blondie. By the way, your Avedon photos are stunning. Have you ever met the artist? I was 15 years old when I first came across his Beatles portraits and 45 years later nothing comes close. Thank you for presenting them in many of your videos.

When 'Revolver' was released back in 1966 it was a game changer in popular music, playing it today its incredible to think this album was released 56 years ago,The Fab 4 at their best, one of my all time favourite albums.

I am a very huge avant-garde jazz freak I always have been and I always will be I love avant Garden jazz because how wild all the instrumentalists got and I’m a huge or not Coleman fan and he was one of the greatest jazz performers ever along with Eric Dolphy and boy those guys can really play I could listen to avant Garden music and never get tired of it that’s why my all time favorite avant-garde pieces the Beatles revolution nine it’s a fantastic piece of music.

Fantastic that you included the McCartney set! Do you think that perhaps it would have ranked higher in your list if Paul’s 80th birthday hadn’t been the upper limit for the number of singles included, and rather the total number of worldwide releases had been issued instead?

@@mazzysmusic No about 2011, sorry to confuse you, it’s listed on Discogs and Amazon. I have a double LP, Maiden of the Cancer Moon on Psycho Records released in 1983 is one of there best live albums from 1968 well recommended too! As regards the Grateful Dead for me Anthem of the Sun was my intro to the Dead, just love the quirkiness, no other band at that time sounded so unique. I saw them in 1970 at the Hollywood Music Festival, their first U.K. gig!

David Bowie - "A Divine Symmetry" CD box set could potentially be put on a wanker list. The actual new re-mix of "Hunky Dory" (Which the box set is based upon) is on Blu-ray disc only while the other discs are on regular CD. I believe the vinyl release is coming in February so that may be an improvement on this but honestly I wish I hadn't purchased this.

Can a wanker also have a top 10 box set or another top ten? Would you buy these again and how would you rate the audio and music (1 - 10), not only for these but all your reviews, not everything is great.
Maybe for the other Top 10 - use a boxing arena scenario, complete with round cards, ring, and microphone - it would add some theatre to the videos - never know, could be a winner (lol).

Mazzy- Not saying this should have made your list, but have you heard the box set "Hollywood Bowl 100"? Live performances at The Hollywood Bowl 1928-2021. Brilliant historically, musically and artist selection with surprising sound quality. I ran into it by accident. Pretty sure you would like it.

@@mazzysmusic I first heard it way back in southern New Zealand when I was an undergrad. It was at a party in some big house where the parents had gone on vacation to Scotland leaving their son, my pal Des, in charge....the dad was a lawyer with a big Quad powered valve hifi and a Garrard 301 turntable and massive Tannoy speakers . It was early winter and about three am and I - at that stage still largely teetotal - was declining proffered drinks. Des said his Dad had some very special whisky that he's brought back from his last trip to Scotland and I and a couple of others went for it. He disappeared and returned with the first bottle of Laphroaig I had ever seen. It was in a papier mache sleeve and the label was handwritten ! This was 1971 way way before the "single malt" industry and its associated snobbery had gotten going. At the same time as that first sip sent a blade of light through my oesophagus, someone put Bare Trees on the stereo. The coincidence of those two experiences has remained in my memory ever since. We wandered round the substantial garden in the early dawn looking at bare trees ! Memories are made of such things. It was a very trippy experience before I had tried acid. Keep up the vids - your enthusiasm and good humour is engaging. Have you listened to the re-release of the first Garcia solo album yet ? A record years ahead of its time...
