Thanks for the secrets. Swim jigs are one of my confidence baits, and I just about always have one tied on. I know there are perch in the water here in East TN, but bluegill and shad patterns are consistent producers for me (even in shockingly bad water clarity, which is always a delightful surprise). Paddletails are the trailer I mostly use for swim jigs, but it feels like the z-craw doesn't get quite as much love as it should. I feel like it occupies a nice little niche between chunks and beavers that have almost no action, and things like the Rage Tail soft plastics that are are just too much on some days.
Thanks Randy I'm the subscriber who asked for the swing video thanks for all that great information it means alot to a guy whos never fished big 🌊 water before see ya next month I'll be relocating to Missouri by the end of may your pal fisherman Mike
Randy - Driving boat in rough water. I would just like to see a video of you driving your boat at speed in rough water. You have said that you don't sit under these circumstances. I don't understand how you can have access to the throttle driving on your knees.. i have back problems and thought your driving method might help me..
Love your videos Randy. I live in Oregon and fish the Columbia River. Getting completely skunked so far this year, any tips on how to fish bass on a river the size of the Columbia?
Great stuff! Here in Florida this is my number one search bait. Throw it anywhere and cover water! Great podcast last night ... would you consider doing a ‘exploit side imaging in shallow water fishing’ video with Jonny? I get your ‘no live scope and 360” stance but side imaging is more in line with 2D then FFS. Exploiting side imaging would allow you to ID appropriate locations and subtle underwater structure other shallow water fisherman are not targeting.
I have to throw a swimbait with a weighted ewg and rig it weedless because the bass are shallow and there are so many weeds, so I have keep the bait between the weed bed and the top. Bluegill and perch is what's been working in Upstate New York small lakes. Maybe I should try a very light swim jig?
Hey randy I live in southern west virginia our lakes don't have many docks ,grass, or floating cover . mostly rock and bank laydowns with a few ledges . is this a good place to use a swim jig ? I would love to try one with the blade on there ive looked everywhere here cant find any .. Thanks love the channel .
The z crawl jr is my staple swimjig trailer. Buzzbait trailer, hell jig trailer alone.. but someone told me since the owner of ZOOM had passed away his son has taken over n doesn't really run it right. I seriously can't find WHITE Zcraw jr's... Anywhere!!!
Randy, do you ever rig the craw type trailers vertically rather than the typical horizontal style? I think it mimics a fish tail more that way and have had success, especially darker bluegill colors.
The 6th sense divine swim jig is my go to swim jig.
thanks, randy....what to throw this time of year is very helpful
This is a new technique for me. And who better to learn from than the jig master himself.
So much knowledge!! It’s almost overwhelming for a new Bass angler.
Thanks Buddy!
Thx for watching!
What about those grassy lakes Randy! Springtime lakes that are now covered in that new grass..... best approach

I believe when he talks about perch he means Bluegill/sunfish.
That is entirely possible.
Thanks again Randy... I NEED TO BUILD UP MY CONFIDENCE IN THE SWIM JIG THIS YEAR.. NEED SOMETHING BESIDES THE TEXAS RIG.. The Frye Guy..
Thanks Randy

You bet!
Great stuff Randy Thanks stay safe out there......
Good information
I always use bluegill colors for my ponds. I like to use the googan squad krackin craw or a bandito bug. I also like to use paddle tails.
Thanks for the info Randy. Could you do a video on your top three presentations for extremely clear water for largemouth bass. Thank you.
That’s a great idea!
I’ll second that!
I 3rd it and please include a bit about northeast clear lake fishing too (non-shad lakes)
Swimjigs can also mimic bluegill and a fleeing crawfish .
Great info randy! Thank you sir!
Great video...Great info....

Great clip Randy, thanks for the info. Can we get the bluegill imitations sooner than later? It’s that time in Louisiana lol. Thanks again! Blaine
And bluegill imitators especially for small waters like ponds

Thanks I need the help
Which dad would you want Randy or mark Zona.
Great info !

I have tried it with a trailer like a super chunk which works pretty good at times
Haven't tried that megabass swim jig yet, does the blade get wrapped up in the skirt material or is that a non-issue? Thanks for the tips as always!
It’s a non issue with mine, I’ve heard people say the blade will brake off but mine has held up
@@paulkimble6223 great thanks man, go catch some biggins on that thing they make some sweet colors
@@paulkimble6223 Same with me. No issues. Caught a bunch of fish with it.
It’s awesome!
What is the best way to retrieve swim jigs?
What color is that zoom paddletail trailer? Thx
The zoom is pearl and Megabass is real
Randy definitely farted at 7:32
What about bluegill and crappie?
Perch or shad patterns are my main two
When the bluegill spawn is happening the bass will crush a bluegill colored swim jig.
@@dartdodge69 don't even have a lot of shad where i fish up north here bluegill is the main forage
I agree with a lot of your tips but check the pronunciation of the swim jig please . My teeth are about to shader !!! Lol 😬😖
