this song is very similar to A Certain Romance in terms of whats the feeling of what gives you, both songs are the one that close album, have that chill, warm, nostalgic vibe that just it
I love hearing this back in the setlist. I hope Suck It & See gets more tracks in their set. It’s such a great album and doesn’t get enough love or respect.
I absolutely agree. There's certain riffs on Suck It And See that exhibit immense nostalgia, this song being one, 'The Hellcat Spangled Shalalala' and 'Suck It And See' the song.
@@strangedaysindeed9 lol I can see it being a jab, but this sounds better than a professionally mixed live album by them. Your recording setup is just amazing
@@mateuslopesteixeira6653 Besides my own audio recording I made use of other sources available for this show, but completely demixed it so it sounds much better than the original soundboard.
One thing I love about Arctic Monkeys is that everyone has a different favourite album cos they’re all very valid picks. Their consistency is almost unrivalled
@@strangedaysindeed9 HAHA you know what i mean like this is official festival level if not better :) thx again, used to watch this vid a ton in 2022 when i was on exchange in france, reminds me a lot of that time 😊
Suck it and see is so under appreciated and this is one of their strongest album closers imo. Sad this wasn’t on the setlist I saw live, but this has to be one of the best performances of an old song from the 2022 tour.
A pussyfooting setting sun Make a wish that weighs a tonne There are no handles for you to hold And no understanding where it goes Jealously in Technicolor Fear by name, love by numbers Streamlamp amber, wonderlust Hiding in a blunderbuss She looks as if she's blowing a kiss at me And suddenly the sky is a scissor Sitting on the floor with a tambourine Crushing up a bundle of love Don't take it so personally You're not the only one That time has got it in for honey That's where you're wrong All the old flames fastened on Make a wish that weighs a tonne There are no handles that you can hold And no understanding where it goes She looks as if she's blowing a kiss at me And suddenly the sky is a scissor Sitting on the floor with a tambourine Crushing up a bundle of love Don't take it so personally You're not the only one That time has got it in for honey That's where you're wrong That's where you're wrong That's where you're wrong 2:34 Alex's voice breaks
Imagine this song was used by Dutch music "journalists" as one of the examples why the band's whole performance was supposedly "dragging". If it would've been their darlings The National or Elbow it would've been called "an intimate and modest centrepiece".
Love this song, one of my favourite from SIAS!! So glad they're performing it! This was a great one, thank you so much for also showing Nick and Jamie and a nice shot of the 4, so good aaaa
So good! I really hope I get to see this one live. It's easily my fav off of SIAS. Nostalgic yet present, similar to ACR in that way. That opening riff gives off Smiths vibes, while the rest is like a 70s-surf-rock-esque daydream
Thanks for this video, one of my favorites from now on!! Also, not a long time ago I saw people discussing the meaning of this song, and someone just said that it may be about aging and a birthday, and the part “she looks as if she’s blowing a kiss at me” as someone blowing candles and it just made more sense to me and also turned this song more special. I don't have any idea about the original meaning but I like to imagine something like this.
I always colour correct but this time I actually did not do anything with it. Either their lights were perfect already or it got captured perfectly... or both.

one of their best underrated songs and they finally play it live again after so long
right?? i was so happy when they played it in prague for the first time after what, 11 years?
TRUEEEE
I wasnt a massive fan personally after the first 3, still liked the others but just changed styles and thats cool but this one was a fucking banger
Really wish they starting playing Love is a Laserquest
pois eeeee
Suck It and See is definitely their most underrated album. I rate it in my top three best AM albums.
What are the other two?
By far!!

Great observation almost like a pt2 of Certain Romance.
This song uses a I and IV chords. Very similar to ACR except it’s missing the minor iv.
I definitely felt that on the first listen when this album came out in 2011
Very similar chords A D without D minor

A lot of people don’t like me for this but I think that suck it and see is one of their best albums I just love it so much
totally agree
You can chose whatever album you like the most. Every arctic monkeys album is amazing!!
I still like you
They are all great for different reasons and different moods ✌️
i agree it's just perfect
The Hellcat and Spangled Shalala needs to make a comeback too! A very very underrated song but a good one for the crowd.
And in a hellcat spangled cavern
It has been on my top 10 for the longest time, it is so underrated!
definitely!!!

that guitar and bass riff give me such warm nostalgia, i’m so happy they’re playing this live 💜
Brings me right back to Don Valley Bowl 2011. They were 25 back then... I was 20. Fast forward to 2022.

One of the few bands who have a discography full of hidden gems, don't need to play live only hits
Damm right 😂❤
This song sounds even better with Alex's current vocal abilities :)
I wish he keeps adding old songs that he hasn't played. I can only wish for them to play if they were there beware again

The mixing on this legit sounds better than Live at Royal Albert Hall
I tried my best ;). RAH is sounding pretty rough. Not an audio document worthy of the early tour.

I’m holding out for the day when SIAS gets that recognition, or is at least looked at more favourably than AM.
the blue pants are killer
it looks as if it's throwing a kiss at me
My life will be complete if they play a SIAS song in Montreal
Ooo cold chills. Alex has entered his Bowie period for sure. He's chosen a lot of tunes where he sings in that Bowie voice. I'm loving it
that’s funny, this song and this performance itself gives me that same warmth and comfort as Heroes do.
Alex seems to have not lost his SIAS era's vocals at all, so nice
One of their best songs for sure!!
I love this song so much T.T Cannot believe they sang this in gig OMG

Your audio and video is so freaking good. And I got actual chills for that bass line. Ahhhhjjjj!

The best live version of this song alongside Belfort France 2011

Props to whoever filmed this - amazing job
