This has been my favorite episode when I only started learning French. Overall, the series was very helpful. And now that I understand pretty much everything in the show I started to like it even more. It's amazing how well scripted it is for an educational tv show - you get jokes, diverse characters and an episodic storyline. Whoever made it - great job!
@@remasalhawari8077 I don’t but I would recommend re-watching this series as many time as possible - with subtitles and without (mostly without). If you can understand more or less final episodes, switch to your favorite shows/movies in French dub. Something you’ve seen before in English will help you to understand the story so you can focus on separate words and phrases.
I guess the teens complaining about needing to watch this don't realise that it's deliberately cheesy humour so you can guess meaning from context. It's perfect really, I can even watch this and laugh when I'm dead tired.
We have actors and teachers helping us learn French for free and these people have the nerve to complain for it being chessy. C'est pour ça que je n'aimes pas le gens d'ici
I like these lessons, except of Sam and his so called French with stupid American accent, it really irritates me! When I want to learn French, I wanna listen to genuine French only, not to fake one like Sam's. The same thing was in Spanish lessons, where there was the same Sam, speaking his horrible Spanish! I really hated it! Big dislike!

Yes, but in some places it makes you sound pretentious, I don't know if it is the same for Spain, but there are some words in English that could be understood for a Spanish speaker, but in LatAm people will think that you are a rich snob or something like that (some words with this effect are for example: Irse de "shopping", cocinar en el/la "kitchen", salir a hacer "footing"), but there are some others that will not have that effect, (F.E: encender el "router", usar el "mouse", darle a "play") you will have to figure out which words don't have this effect (most of them are word related to technology) I think this is because before the "globalization" there were less people that had the chance to communicate with foreigners, specially english speakers, and most of them were "rich" people, so the regular stereotype of a dumb rich people is that they usually speak some english words mixed up with spanish, and some people still think that it is ridiculous, so be careful, and good luck learning spanish.
Godgifu I think it's the opposite. I'm actually a native Spanish speaker and I think that, yes, people who are trying to sound snoby will use English words, but to educated speakers it just makes them look stupid. (Like, REALLY stupid and trying to show off even though they actually only know a few words.) At least in my opinion. By the way, the English word "Shpping" is not common in my dialect of spanish Zulian Venezuelan Spanish, Most people will understand "shopping," but no body will say it. Though I don't know about other parts of Latin America.
I love how now, in 2018, Sam's outfits are completely normal while everybody else looks outdated. I'm just waiting for the nightcap and dressing gown revival.

en fait, c'est presque impossible à parler couramment si on n'a pas passé des temps environ les vrais français. j'ai entendu beaucoup d'histoires où quelqu'un a étudié le français durant plus de quatre ans, puis quand ils sont allés en france, ils ne comprendent rien parce que tout est trop vite! c'est triste, mais souvenez que la majorité de conversation dans le temps present est sur l'internet, et sur l'internet on ne doit pas parler vite.
I watched the Spanish version over and over again in 2020 when I was first learning Spanish. Now I know every beat of what happens while watching this version.
Thank you so much for this series! Wonderful! it really gives me hope that one day my study will pay off and I will be fluent enough in French to, for instance, read a book written in French or understand a French movie without subtitles. And the characters are so funny and well-acted! Thank you again!!

Aw, come on, people. I speak French fairly well, though rarely have an opportunity to practice. I've only seen episodes 1 & 2 so far, but I think they're great. Wish I had these way back when I was first learning.
